Flavourless. Bland. Over-priced. We ordered takeout from the Didsbury Manchester restaurant. 3 x curry bowls & 2 extra sauces. We paid over £50. We were all underwhelmed by the flavours. Definitely... Leggi di più

HQ cost cutting leading to poor value and service
Visited Finchley branch yesterday with friends. Unfortunately it was a bad experience. My chicken teriyaki soba was served with a very small portion of chicken and the food was cold. Initially my complaint was ignored and when I asked for the manageress she said that the portions were weighed out and correct. She acknowledged that many customers had complained that head office had reduced the portion sizes while increasing the prices. Wagamama provide no customer services number so tried completing their online form but this crashed when I submitted.

Nice people and OK food but they don't take reservations. That's okay too but they don't say so on their website. Just be up front!
Utter crap
It takes great skill and dedication to provide food this bland and over priced. Find a small/ family run Japanese/ Korean restaurant and enjoy!

I normally love the food so much but my last order which cost me £55 and was a treat for us was so disappointing. My bang bang cauliflower was burnt and I had to throw away, the sauces were like empty. I have emailed a few weeks ago and no one has come back to me and since I have sent 3 more emails and not one reply. Makes me not want to go there again, and I normally love the food. I still would like this resolved please.

Overpriced and disorganized meal delivery starters arrive after main before finishing. Tropical juice awful. Firecracker chicken great as was firecracker catsu with prawns. Apple bau buns lacked taste, katsu curry tasted same as Chinese curry sauce. Disappointed overall as Bill for 5 starters and main with 5 non alcoholic drinks over 150 Quid. Won't be coming again. Clean and tidy inside, staff attentive

Yesterday marked our 35th wedding…
Yesterday marked our 35th wedding anniversary, and we decided to celebrate at Wagamama in Leicester. My wife had thoughtfully contacted the manager in requesting a table with back support due to my lower back issues. The manager assured us this would be accommodated, but unfortunately, the staff gave the table away to other customers. As a result, I had to endure my meal in discomfort and pain. Despite the restaurant being busy, it was clear my needs were overlooked, which was disheartening.
As for the drinks, we ordered a cappuccino and two lemon and ginger teas. They didn’t have the ginger tea, so we switched to green tea. Shockingly, all three drinks were served ice-cold, forcing us to send them back for replacements.
The food service was equally disappointing. Their policy of serving dishes as they’re prepared meant my daughter received her main course first. I waited five minutes for mine, which arrived lukewarm. My wife’s main course didn’t come until much later, leaving her waiting while the rest of us tried to eat quickly to avoid our meals getting cold. Even the starter arrived after we had finished eating.
The taste of the food was average at best. The vegetarian and vegan “meat” options were overly salty and rubbery, making them nearly inedible.
All in all, it was a frustrating and deeply disappointing experience. For a special occasion like ours, we had hoped for better care and consideration, especially as vegetarians. Unfortunately, this visit left us with no desire to return, and we wouldn’t recommend it to others, particularly those with dietary needs or accessibility concerns.
Wagamama Lakeside, Essex
Great experience at Lakeside Wagamama today. Got a table in minutes, all staff were friendly. Nice lady called Lefki served us who was really lovely and helpful.
Food arrived quicky, was very nice and not expensive either.
Bland food and expesnive. Wagamama is now a 'no go' restaurant.
Mains and starters served at different times, that is Wagamama policy due to different food stations, apparently! One in our party had eaten their starter and half-way through their main course while we were sitting there watching and we hadn't even received our starters. My food was good, but the others were very bland. How can Wagamama take such flavorsome ingredients and turn them into something so tasteless? The portions were small too for the price. Very expensive. And once the waitress realised she wasn't getting a tip, she became quite rude. Why should we have to pay Wagamama employees to be courteous? Shouldn't this be standard? Another horrible business model used by Wagamamas.
click and collect failures
We get Wagamama click and collect every now and again. Not any more. Last for be orders: Two were 15 minutes late and had dishes missing. Last two were not even started when I turned up. One item was not available so they didn’t even start the order. Took 30 minutes to make. Such a rubbish system. Never order online and agree with the other comments. Choice and quality has fallen rapidly. Goodbye
DIRTY GLASSES AND COLD FOOD 🍱
We just came out to the one in street Clarks village, my first time experiencing it! Glasses came out dirty and waiting for our food and to come and wasn’t cooked right and was cold 🥶.
But the food was nice 👍
I agree with some of the other reviews...
We went to the Bath restaurant this time, but our experience has been the same in every one we've been to over the past couple of years.
I agree with some of the other negative reviews; when we first went, it was excellent. That must have been about 20 years ago. But in stages it has got worse and worse. The ingredients have been thinned down to what is cheapest, and the recipes have far too much chilli in them. They must buy shichimi togarashi by the lorry load.
In it's heyday, dishes such as the seafood ramen were superb, and very reasonably priced, but nothing like that exists now and everything is much more expensive. I don't mind paying for quality, but I feel that value for money is very low.
Why do we go, if it's so bad? Because it's one of the few places where our daughter will always eat something. She still likes the children's menu, although she no longer qualifies...
Oh yes, and the "loyalty" Soul Club that rewards me with one stamp for spending over £12... I paid for our meal and spent £60, but I still only got one stamp.
Their website still contains their old kaizen statement (in "about-us"). They don't follow this at all. My advice? Until they are willing to go back to the original recipes, get the Wagamama Cookbook (the first one) and make your own at home.
Terrible, expensive food
The food used to be good here…not any more. I ordered a firecracker curry at the Cheshire Oaks restaurant. It was so hot I could barely eat it. No flavour just very hot and I have heartburn 2 hours later. The rest of the food was bland and tasteless. Clearly it has changed hands and the menus have been changed. Prices have also increased . £50 for 2 mains courses 2 drinks and a side dish . Avoid avoid avoid avoid!
What happened? You used to be good
What happened? I used to recommend them to anyone and everyone, went today and I had to return my food it was so bad (2 people I was with also tried the food and told me to send it back).
Great value and good quality food
Great value and good quality food. Always a pleasure to drop in for noodles or curry. Just visited Cardiff and enjoyed as always.
service was poor
service was poor, card machine was broken, tried to intimidate innocent 16 yr old girls because they couldn’t work the card system out, didn’t give us our free gyozas and they tried to scam us - Leicester
Customer rewards service poor
Long story short, there was an issue with my rewards being automatically allocated to the group bill when it came to us using the Loyalty App (Soul Club) to pay. I asked for the reward to be reinstated to my account as it was automatically taken in error (someone else at the table had ordered the billed item, not me, so we had not requested for it to be deducted from the bill but it had). She and I both asked for it be reinstated to my account so that I - as the new Soul Club customer - could use it when *I* wanted to, not randomly someone else in the group that day.
None of the staff at the restaurant could work out how to correct the bill. In the end, we gave up and they advised we contact Customer Service…
So, I contacted Customer Service to let them know what happened but I was told that there was no way it was allocated to the bill by accident!? This seemed to infer I was lying and therefore nothing would be done to help correct it. I again politely explained the situation but I was told nothing would be done (as I must have added it). It was then said that, even if i hadn’t deliberately added it, and even though the staff couldn’t help, a different diner got to use my reward, so that was that. Wow.
To insinuate I am lying and to not even offer a resolution surprised me. Even simply adding my 'welcome gift’ back to my new account as a new Soul Club customer would have been appreciated. But to imply I have lied?? And I’ve missed out on my gift / £4.80 out-of-pocket when I do actually want to order that item. This has now been ongoing for days so I will be deleting my SC account - what’s the point of sharing my personal data with you if you can’t even honour the basics. I was a new customer to your scheme and the approach you have taken is disappointing and rude.
Hard to find something not spicy…
Hard to find something not spicy in the menu.
I went with my wife to the wagamama in Fort Kinnard, we ordered a ramen without chilli nor kimchi in the description and was still spicy. It should be in the description.
We love Waga food but not at cribbs causeway
As a family we have been great fans of Wagamama for years mostly Exeter London and Edinburgh branches. However my daughter and I visited the cribbs causeway outlet on Thursday and were very disappointed both with the quality of food and service was poor considering it was almost empty during our visit . Both of our meals were more onion than anything else and I had a large piece of onion skin in mine . My second cup of green tea looked like dishwater and was cloudy and tasteless .it could easily have been dishwater in fact !! After asking for it to be replaced replacement cup was worse so I had to leave it .
There were several staff on duty ( 3 pm) but service was very slow and the person making the tea was sullen and unhelpful . I would not advise anyone to use this Waga mama there are far better ones with decent food . Extremely disappointing meal
