Christmas 2025 sailing Miami departure
Well. Actually just opened this email today while sitting in recovery after a double quad tendons repair procedure. This is just ahead of our planned 2 Aug 26 departure from Barcelona. Myself, wife 2nd Voyages and son 1st Voyages all has an amazing time with another future planned on board. Hope i can still make Barcelona even while recovering. Staff, service and on board booking all amazing!!!
I love this cruise
I love this cruise. Food was great. Staff amazing. Best cruise I have ever been on!
A fun, and relaxing adventure on the Mediterranean
Our group had an incredible time sailing with Virgin Voyages! From the moment we stepped onboard until the day we disembarked, the experience exceeded our expectations.
The food was outstanding—every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was such a great variety that we never got tired of trying new restaurants.
The crew truly made the trip special. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our vacation memorable. The level of service was exceptional.
The entertainment was another highlight. The shows were energetic, creative, and so much fun. There was always something happening onboard, and we loved the lively atmosphere throughout the ship.
Overall, it was an amazing vacation filled with great food, outstanding service, and unforgettable experiences. We made wonderful memories and are already looking forward to booking our next Virgin Voyages cruise!
The whole experience was great
The whole experience was great. The booking, staff, service, food, and the events and activities. This is my #1 way to cruise without children because we need to.
Mega Rock Star Failure
Virgin Voyages: The Rock Star Experience, or How to Get Less for More!
Ahoy, fellow cruisers! If you ever dreamed of living like a rock star, you might want to think twice before booking with Virgin Voyages—because here, you can pay top dollar to get the royal treatment... or should I say, the royal mess!
We splurged on the Mega Rock Star Massive Suite, one of only two on the ship, and what did we get? A bigger room with a side of disappointment! For the price of a concert ticket, I expected a backstage pass, not a “no” at every turn.
Day 1: After weeks of planning and ordering our liquor, we boarded the ship only to discover the bar had turned into a discount liquor store! Instead of the premium spirits we anticipated, we received a sad selection that even a diabetic would find offensive—sorry, Sprite Zero, you didn’t make the cut!
And let’s talk about the safe in our room. It was broken, and we were told, “Don’t worry, your valuables are as free as the wind!” For an entire week, we felt like our treasures were on a reality show, just waiting to be discovered by the next unsuspecting cabin steward.
As the days rolled on, we tried to dine at the Italian restaurant for “Red Night,” the supposed highlight of our trip. But alas, our requests were met with a resounding “NO!” Meanwhile, those cruising on the budget plan waltzed in like VIPs. Apparently, the secret to luxury is to pay less!
Then there was the cabana fiasco. We were told it would cost us a mere $700 for a private cabana in Grand Turk. But wait—20 minutes later, the price jumped to $1400! For that price, I expected a personal butler, not a filthy pool that looked like it hadn’t seen soap in years and drinks that could be found at a dollar store.
But here’s the twist: the staff at those locations were genuinely delightful! They were the shining stars in this rocky experience, making the best of a bad situation. So, if you miss your fancy dinner and end up at the buffet (the Galley), just remember: at least you have kind strangers to share a laugh with!
Then came the infamous night before our stop at Bimini, Virgin's private island. We were told that our pre-booked cabana was no longer available because those savvy discount cruisers were apparently the chosen ones. Who knew that paying more meant getting less?
So, if you want to feel like a rock star, save your hard-earned cash and snag a discount cabin on Groupon! You’ll get the same treatment as those in the highest tier—just remember: the more you pay, the less you get!
Virgin, you’ve really outdone yourselves this time. Bravo! You’ve turned luxury cruising into a twisted game of “who can complain the loudest.” Signed, a customer you treated like a homeless Vet
Honestly? Bad.
Honestly, you’re better off with Royal Caribbean. Getting in touch with customer service, while aboard, was a nightmare. Dismissed at Sailor Services (Valiant Lady) by Roy, who was not kind at all. They didn’t respond until almost two weeks post disembarking. They are very disorganized and the ship’s onboard itinerary is dull unless you are there to “meet up” with other couples or are a day drinker.
Exceptional Experience! My 3rd Virgin Cruise and Definitely Not My Last! the "French…
I just returned from the "French Riviera, Spain & Ibiza Overnight" itinerary sailing June 14–21, 2026, aboard the Valiant Lady out of Barcelona, and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. As a three-time Virgin Voyages sailor, I can confidently say they just keep getting better. Both embarkation and disembarkation days were entirely seamless.
During this trip, I stayed in a Sea View room, which was excellent. It was spacious, well laid out, and had great lighting throughout. The room also featured strong air conditioning, which was perfect after a long day in the sun, and the bathroom had fantastic water pressure with plenty of hot and cold water.
The Valiant Lady recently underwent dry dock, and the top-notch renovations are immediately noticeable. They’ve added a lot more comfortable lounge seating across the common spaces, making the modern, well-designed ship feel even more inviting. The food onboard remains unmatched, and the biggest highlight of the refresh is the new Ariya restaurant, which serves an absolutely delicious, modern spin on Indian cuisine. Ariya, along with the flawless steaks at The Wake and the incredible upscale Mexican dishes at Pink Agave, were my absolute restaurant standouts. Combined with the genuinely top-notch, friendly service from the crew, you are pampered the entire week.
The itinerary itself was a fantastic lineup of iconic cities, including Barcelona, Mallorca, Valencia, Cannes, and Ibiza, with great excursion options at every stop. Having an overnight in Ibiza is a game-changer. Onboard, the entertainment continues to improve and evolve. The new addition of the a cappella group The Magnets blew everyone away, while Kennedi and the Groove and The Miss Behave Show were absolute highlights that kept the energy amazing.
I traveled solo this time, and Virgin Voyages makes it incredibly easy to connect with other solo sailors. What I love most about this cruise line is that they make it easy to make the vacation whatever you want it to be, whether that is a relaxing, recharging getaway or a social, adventurous cruise, and everything in between. I highly recommend Virgin Voyages and will definitely be back for cruise number four.
Need better quality food and food…
Need better quality food and food choices, better entertainment / musicals. Bigger ships. Better accountability, when your contacted tour operator leaves a guest behind, take accountability for that, don't blame the guest.
Do your research before booking with Virgin
Virgin Cruise lines has a very different cruise agenda. The restaurants were fantastic and the choices were very good. The Market (a glorified buffet) had different choices that were just ok. The entertainment was terrible!!! The shows were childish although the crew was talented. Just not used to their potential. There was not great choices for places to listen to great music or place to dance to the bands. Which was fine because the bands did not play music that would be danceable to anyway. The soloists and duets played music that put you to sleep. Choices of events during sea days were lacking unless you wanted to go do yoga or trivia. The staff, room attendants, restaurant staff, bartenders were fantastic. Just not a cruise for all. We were happy this was a free cruise for us because if we would have had to pay for it we would have not been happy!
I love Virgin Voyages for the kid free…
I love Virgin Voyages for the kid free ships great food and the Scarlet Night
The staff are phenomenal
The staff are phenomenal. The ship is amazing.
My best breakfast in memory was at the Wake and I do breakfast out a lot. The food was very good at every location.
Some names: Vee our steward 10222A was great; also, Sharmaine in food-service (everywhere) and Marcia in RazzleDazzle. Too many to remember...GMA

Super from start to finish
Super from start to finish! Highly recommend a central sea terrace cabin. Food super, bar choices super the crew super. No complaints only compliments, highly recommend Virgin Voyages. We loved our first time on Virgin so much we booked on board for next year.
Ship's officers are ROBOTS
Ship's officers are ROBOTS. My arm was injured by a defective door on deck 15. All they did is provide medical service and phone calls. Even though I was unable to leave the ship at all ports and had to wear a sling, they would not even discuss compensation. Our cabin was also entered by maintenance personal without our knowledge and consent, who trampled all over the bedding with their shoes and equipment. Virgin staff AGAIN, did not appologize or offer compensation. We cancelled a future cruise with them and will NEVER, EVER, consider Virgin again.
Zin in feest?
Total Disaster, my worst cruise ever!
Worst experience when boarding. We were there at 1 PM and they said come back at 3.45 PM due to our set boarding time. I could see many different Qs and people were getting distresse. We came back at 3 PM and people were still waiting in the sun, at 3.30 PM they asked us to wait in a very long queues again. We waited another hour in horrendous Q going through security etc. No water or drinks were offered! People could hardly stand any more and I got heat stroke. I was sick for the next two days on the ship. Our holiday was wasted. I have been on many cruises world wide and never ever experienced anything like this before! All other cruises I done so far if you come early, they always let you on board to enjoy the ship facilities and later you can go to your cabin when it's ready but not this one! During boarding people were treated like cattle without their age or health consideration!
To make matters worst during the cruise there was no food for vegetarians worth eating, it was so bland and inedible except for one Indian restaurant on board which we booked after four days of eating rubbish! Even the veg burgers awailable on deck 15 were sickning. The soups most days were meat and when we asked for vegetarian soups the answer was sorry no veg soup today! Also being a diabetic there were vertually no suger free options! So vegetarians and diabetics and people with health issues please be warned to stay away from Virgin Cruises if you value your health! Even the toast and bread that they serve you is like cardboard.
Greek Island Glow.
The design and modern lay out of all public spaces was superb.
The food in all but one of the restaurants was exquisite, the only disappointment was The Wake. Food was ordinary and not very hot, the service was poor, especially when we ordered our desserts and they didn't appear so we walked out. The rockstar cabin 11009A was narrow and wasn't as spacious as the cabins either side of us.
The staff in the restaurants with the exception of The Wake were fantastic, their professionalism, manners, friendliness and attention were spot on. The galley served far too much fast food, obviously to appease their American sailors. I went to the whisky tasting event, which was a complete and utter waste of time, the host had no idea about whisky, waste of $25.00.
Our cabin stewards were great and nothing was too much trouble. They were cheerful and very polite. Our rockstar rep, Berenice, was brilliant and again nothing was too much trouble.
The stops we had during the cruise were very good and the tours were well organised. Santorini was beautiful. The only real issue was at Athens airport for the flight home. The airport was severely overcrowded and being asked to show our passports and boarding passes 7 times from check in to boarding the aircraft was unnecessary and time consuming.
Difficulties at the first step
As a Virgin customer across the board, Voyages really let the team down.
This was my first time booking a cruise ever. I was making multiple bookings and according to virgin my first mistake was booking someone else’s room before my own. In doing this, it merged someone else’s details with my account. Virgin struggled to reverse this effect and blamed me for the issue. It doesn’t state clearly on the website that you must make your own bookings before anyone else. When I called customer service, they wantedto speak to the person who details merged on my booking but I explained that they are profoundly deaf and it is actually my booking and my account not theirs. as you can imagine this then became a very difficult process and very long-winded. I did not appreciate being blamed for system error.
I raised the complaint in relation to this issue and haven’t to the state received a satisfactory response.
It’s not a process or experience I would recommend to others.
The crew on board were excellent!
The crew on board were excellent. They definitely contributed to the ‘lighter’ feel of the ship in comparison to some of the other cruise companies I’ve sailed with. Particular mention goes to Saffrone, a young Australian lady who tended the bar at On the Rocks. I was a solo traveller and her genuine enthusiasm and thoughtfulness really contributed to the success of my cruise. Marcel and Rico, my servers/chefs at the Guanjoy Korean BBQ restaurant had a great sense of humour which really elevated the dining experience of everyone at my table. I was in cabin 12214A and unfortunately cannot remember the name of my cabin staff. She was very sweet and attentive to whatever I may have needed.
Virgin stepped away from the chaos of the usual cruise ship buffet with ‘The Galley’. Numerous separate eating areas such as the Bento Baby, the Diner, Burger Bar and numerous other eateries all on the same level, offered very good food that was creative but also provided the old favourites that everyone enjoys. This September, Virgin is trialling a repositioning cruise that includes stops in Greenland and ends in New York. I was very interested in this cruise but unfortunately learned about it a little too late to make a booking. Hopefully, it is repeated next year.
My first Virgin Voyages cruise was a great experience and I am looking forward to my next sailing.
Scarlet lady was awesome
Scarlet lady was awesome. We enjoyed very very much. Never gonna forget this lovely trip and the vip treatment offered by the crew ❤️
I had a horrible experience
I had a horrible experience, they do not honor the lock it in rate. A former friend was the primary sailor and they let her remove me from the booking and did not refund me when I called my bank. Do not trust this company,
