From the start to finish, Carrie was there to assist us in planning and coordinating our fantastic time in Japan. Our guides Summer, Andi, Dione, and Dan, were also excellent!! Each day we got very informative tours that exceeded our expectations. Not to mention the excellent drivers who got us to our locations quickly and safely. My wife and I have already decided to use UME travel services again when we return to Japan. I highly recommend Carrie and her excellent staff to assist anyone coming to Japan. We will be using UME again;)

I wanted to thank you for the support that was extended to us in Japan under stressful circumstances. We had a wonder tour of the mountains the first 13 days. Bianco was very knowledgeable about the area, its history and even the best place to have lunch in each of the areas. He provided very interesting museums, and experiences and was very pleasant to be with. The hotels were very nice and some unique to the area. One morning we were up early and the view of Fugi was spectacular with a clear blue sky, a full moon sitting next to the mountain, making a beautiful unforgettable scene. Just one example of how special the trip was.
When we arrived in Kyoto and joined up with Leo I fell in love with the city. He was able to show us many of the area’s treasures. When my husband became ill, Leo was of wonderful assistance to me. He is an amazing young man, so thoughtful and compassionate. His understanding of the situation was comprehensive and was able to translate to English the needed information for me to navigate Japanese systems. As an example, he provided a very useful tool, he wrote in Japanese the addresses of the hospital and the hotel I was lodging in, so that as I got into taxies to go back and forth I only needed to show the driver the note. He and UME provided excursions that were not on the itinerary but were valuable experiences and helped to distract me when I could not be at the hospital. He deserves to be commended for his attention to detail and accompanying actions.
UME and Amber developed a terrific itinerary and provided excellent follow through. The drivers, guides, and lodgings were all that we had hoped. Japan is beautiful and a far more interesting country than we knew before we arrived. The medical care my husband received was wonderful and fortunately helped him to recover rapidly. I did not know what to expect of the travel agency when the itinerary was halted and changes in hotels were needed. UME was there to support me though the unique circumstances and their involvement did not end just because the dates and places were not in the contract. That support is greatly appreciated and made a definite positive difference to our “Grand Tour’ of a lifetime.

AMBER who was our office/booking contact came back to every email with speed, efficiency, politeness and a good understanding of what we had asked.



Amber produced completely customised itineraries for me and my Mother, taking into consideration all of our preferences, capabilities, limitations and preferences. (My Mother is 70 and has bad knees and eyesight issues).
We had specific priorities to take part in crafting sessions and experiences, and to see lots of Japanese gardens and Autumn foliage, especially the maples. Of course we also wanted to see all the usual highlights, and make it down as far as Hiroshima for historical learning opportunities.



Amber was able to create the perfect itinerary, and for about the same price as a tour with 30 people on a bus, we got PRIVATE door to door drivers, a personal guides JUST FOR US TWO, and complete control over our itinerary, which the guides readjusted on the fly for us to help us get the most out of each day! 

It was like being a rock-star, or an ambassador!



The hotels were all to a high standard, with both local and western options for breakfasts. We were able to experience a night sleeping in traditional Japanese style on Tatami mats, a private Onsen hot bath and a Japanese banquet presented in our spacious room!

Amber organised all the craft experiences we wanted - gold leaf work, Kintsugi, Calligraphy, Washi Paper Making, Calligraphy and a cultural performance show.



Our guides KILAN and YUYA were both polite, accessible, friendly and knowledgeable (Yuya especially so with a degree in history!). They were able to answer all of our plentiful questions, and were happy to talk about all sorts of subjects, even more awkward ones. We like to learn about a countries social, economic, political, penal, health, environmental, and cultural systems as well as just the tourist information.



One point I must make is that being Vegetarian in Japan is extremely difficult.
 Being Vegan is almost impossible. Our guides tried to be as helpful as possible, and did point out some excellent, little known places where I could eat vegetarian and my mother could still have meat - but it should be known that for experiences such as the Japanese banquet in room - you need to let hotels know ahead of time, sometimes WEEKS ahead of time. DON’T leave it until arrival and check in to let the hotel know - and be proactive about asking the guides to do the same. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time walking around trying to find restaurants that may or may not still exist!


The guides always came in to help us check in if there was anything to book or organise (meals / onsen baths etc) - but sometimes, on the night is too late.



Other than that - I cannot fault ANYTHING that UME did for us. 
From constant WhatsApp communication, to meeting us on the platform from each train, to sending images, links and maps so we could find things we needed to. It was complete, considerate and comforting service from start to finish - very welcome in a country where culture shock and language gaps are abundant!



The pacing of the tour was perfect too - we never felt rushed - had plenty of time at each site and had time to relax and recover between busy days.



I would recommend this company over any other for tours in Asia!







We completed our wonderful Bhutan trip this morning.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank Dan Li and UME travel for doing such a phenomenal job helping us get this trip together. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay in Bhutan.

The local manger in Bhutan, Sangay did a perfect job with choosing the accommodations, tour activities, the tour guide and our driver. Our tour guide RinZin Wangchuk was very good and made our trip more memorable with the information he shared and by keeping our days well organized so we could truly enjoy all aspects of Bhutan and its Culture. We also met the local tour manager, Sangay — needless to say, she is a wonderful person.
There are not too many places we can say should be revisited— thanks to this trip, we can say that Bhutan would be a place to visit & revisit!!

We had a wonderful one-day tour from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai with our guide, Mr. A-nan from UME Travel. He picked us up right on time at 7:30 AM, and with his help, we even made a relaxing stop at the hot spring for a foot-bathing break and a fun group photo.

Throughout the day, Mr. A-nan guided us smoothly through the White Temple, Blue Temple, and the Black House Museum. At each site, he provided clear explanations and shared interesting history that made our visits even more meaningful.

It was a long day of sightseeing and travel, but Mr. A-nan was always patient, attentive, and made sure we didn’t miss any highlights. We were truly happy and grateful for his thoughtful and friendly service. He made our visit to Chiang Mai a very memorable one.

We recently completed a vacation to Thailand and decided to book through a travel agency since it was our first time visiting Asia and we weren’t sure what to expect. We’re so glad we chose UME Travel — the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish.

Our agent, Lan Liu, was extremely helpful and attentive. She even called us in Canada to walk us through what to expect from the company, asked about the level of service we wanted, and then sent us a detailed quote. From there, booking with her was absolutely smooth.

As our vacation approached, Lan kept us updated and provided a very thorough itinerary, along with all hotel and flight bookings. She even went the extra mile by sending photos of airport meeting points so we could easily find our drivers upon arrival. The local tour guides she arranged were top-notch and really enhanced our experience in Thailand.

We would highly recommend UME Travel and especially Lan Liu to anyone planning a trip to Thailand. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and personalized service truly made our vacation unforgettable

Our tour guide, Mr. Win, was friendly, professional, witty and extremely helpful. He really went the extra mile. He's a winner! Side note: The date of my experience might be off by a day or so because I'm writing this review after I've returned to the states. I was with a group of six that toured Thailand (Bangkok & Chiang Mai) Nov 1st-10th, arranged by Ivan.

let start with good stuff. Organization was perfect, like it should be. It was private tour with private guide and driver. they were always on time (5min earlier). Guide spoke limited English, but enough to understand each other. With little patience, everything was good. Hotels were 4/5 starts and all hotels, but one were excellent. Hotel that we got in Chiang Mai, Thailand, was supposed to be 4star hotel. I would not give it 2stars. this was not hotel advertised with the tour. Also, on itinerary that we got before paying, there was a different hotel, close to old city. Hotel that was chosen for us was not near old city, not close to anything (restaurants,shops..), and it did not have restaurant or bar in hotel. And, that was a major problem. We were there during water festival. Any transportation was impossible to get, and it was overpriced.
So, if anybody is reading this, UME Travel is good, but read you final itinerary very careful, and complain if not OK.

We needed a specialized trip through Asia to cross paths with long time friends living in Asia. We looked at various tour packages, but could not find what we desired.

Contacted UME Travel and worked with Eva. Expressed our modifications to other tour packages they offered. After going back and forth a couple times, Eva put together a wonderful package offer. We accepted and Eva spent a few days organizing and booking our airfare, lodging, private tour guides and drivers for each location.

The 20 day trip was to various locations in four countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand.

Eva provided very detailed documents covering all aspects of our trip. Plus, she responded quickly to any questions or minor modifications.

The hotels were great and in good locations where one could also wander the surrounding neighborhoods and access to public transportation when you were not with your personal guide and driver. All listed meals and attractions were included in the tour package. Would definitely consider UME Travel for future trips!

Lan Liu was amazing! She worked with me for a year and planned a trip of a lifetime for my friend and I to Thailand! We had zero worries the entire trip. From start to finish A1 service! If I had any questions along the way Lan Liu quickly responded and assisted me. I look forward to future trips with UME & Lan!

The whole program planned for Víetnam and Cambodia was perfect. Our planner at UME was Ivan and he was absolutely fantastic. Can not thank him enough for his detailed planning and professionalism. Guides and drivers extremely polite and knowledgeable. Timings 100% and in general all services as per plans. Flexible enough that a typhoon did not disrupt plans. Would definitely recommend company, and in fact, I already have.

Thailand, Bangkok-Chaing Mai unforgettable. I don’t even know where to start. So let’s begin with I just experienced the trip of my dreams from start to finish. I gave Ivan our tour organizer ideas of what we wanted to do and he put together a flawless itinerary for us. His entire staff of tour guides and drivers were just amazing. Breeze (SP) the love of her country unparalleled, Win knowledge of country history amazing and Puma her care for you will exceed anything you could imagine . We had Puma for 3 days. She took us to Temples, on a food tour, shopping, the elephant sanctuary and made sure we got safely to the Lantern festival and back to our hotel. She shared her life experiences and her culture with us. She is so proud of her country and it showed it made the tours even more special. The 6 of us in our tour fell in love with her and by the end of our 3 days in Chaing Mai she became family. I think it is one of the best vacations I have ever been on. From EVA airlines to the beautiful hotels Chatrium Riverside Bangkok was a blast we happened to be there as they were hosting the Miss Universe Pageant. The Empress hotel in Chaing Mai was cute boutique style. Great service and breakfast at both was excellent.Our experience was so exceptional I emailed Ivan before I even made it home I will be booking again for Songkran 2027. You can not go wrong booking with UME Travel. They are professional, timely, caring, responsive and will exceed your expectations.

Working with Carrie at UME travel was a wonderful experience! We decided that we wanted a full tour the day before getting to Japan and Carrie quickly put together an itinerary and then tweaked it to meet our needs. We had an excellent combination of group and private tours and she was available all the time for any questions. The drivers contacted us the night before each day tour and were super welcoming and informative. From the moment our driver met us at the airport to when he dropped us off a week later at the airport our days were filled with tours and relaxing time, and we saw so much more than we would have on our own.

Our experience UME Travel in Bangkok, Thailand with our wonderful tour guide Marie. Marie met is at the cruise ship port and brought us to our hotel. The next morning we started our tour, first stop the railway market- very cool- then to the Sleeping Budha, next lunch at a very nice restaurant then on to the Temple of the Dawn. Everything we saw Marie carefully explained and gave us such interesting facts and view of life in Bangkok. Marie arrived on time and stayed by our side throughout the whole day. We enjoyed our day very much. I would highly recommend Marie as your guide. She was caring and concerned and gave us many suggestions on how to spend our free time !

When we booked travel with UME travel, I was cautious but Steve was very communicative and assisted us with many tour suggestions, so far everything has gone very smoothly our next stop is Tokyo and we look forward to meetimg our next tour guide there.

UME Travel was excellent in helping us plan the perfect trip to Japan. Steven was so helpful and attentive to my needs and desires for our trip. It was easy working with him to make changes until we had just what we wanted, and even last minute changes were accommodated when we added our friends for part of the tour. The hotels Steven booked for us were perfect, in great locations. Even the bullet train tickets and instructions were perfect. Our guides Bianco and Krystal and drivers were wonderful. Their knowledge of the area excellent, and personalities were great. This was THE PERFECT trip to Japan. We will definitely use UME Travel when planning our next adventure.
