This is an awful company to deal with since they joined up with Sykes cottages, I never had a problem with UKCaravans4hire before this.
We rang to enquire why we had not received a confirmation email 5 days after leaving a deposit on a booking, only to be told that it had been cancelled with no reason why.
The person handling the call had difficulty understanding us, repeatedly asking us to speak up when all of the noise was coming from there end, it sounded like a party going on, and had difficulty with spoken English.
We asked them to send an email to confirm our £212 deposit refund and was assured we would have one the same day, we are still waiting a week later.
I am absolutely disgusted by the total lack of service, empathy, and competence from UKcaravans4hire and their parent company, Forge Holiday Group / Sykes Cottages.We booked a 3-night stay at Craig Tara Holiday Park starting tomorrow (Friday). My husband and I took non-negotiable time off work, bought non-refundable attraction tickets for the kids, and bought an entire weekend's worth of holiday groceries. Despite paying in full at booking, we were left with zero key codes, and no site location. I called last week because the portal was blank, and was told to call back 48 hours before traveling. I called this morning (27 hours before travel) because the owner has completely ghosted us for a week.The front-line helpline was a joke. The agent spent 20 minutes repeatedly putting me on mute, refusing to answer direct questions, and skirting around the issue. I was finally promised a strict "4:00 PM ultimatum" today, after which they would provide alternative accommodation because their own website shows ZERO availability left in Ayr.When I called back for an update past the deadline, they hadn’t even bothered to call the owner until 4:18 PM and it was only because I called to ask for an update! A Customer Relations agent named Phil then left a voicemail trying to bluff me with a technicality, claiming the owner has until 4:00 PM ON CHECK-IN DAY (an hour after 3pm check-in time) to give details, completely backtracking on the verbal promise made by his own team this morning. To make matters worse, I was then intentionally left on hold for an hour until their office closed for the evening. They abandoned a mother with young children on the line rather than resolving an active problem. This is an anticipatory breach of contract and a catastrophic failure of their duty of care. Taking public charity grant funds meant for children and leaving a family stranded is disgraceful.A formal case file has been opened (Case: COR-481928-CF). I expect a senior manager to contact me before 9:30 AM tomorrow with a verified alternative property from the Sykes inventory or an immediate emergency resolution. If my children are left stranded at the park gates, I will be escalating this directly to the Take a Break Scotland grant body, Trading Standards, and The Property Ombudsman.

Holiday booking cancelled with no explanation.
I need to contact them for a refund, would that not be an automatic response to cancelling my booking?
Contacted on the number provided which was the wrong number. Given a different number to call and I get an advisor who came across like it was his first day on the job, couldn't tell me why the booking was cancelled, couldn't tell me when I would get my refund.
Safe to say will never use this company again!

Funny that they are rated much lower on Google.
Funny that all the recent reviews are 1 star.
From my experience, couldn't get hold of the owner for weeks, so had no way of knowing if we were going on holiday, even though we'd paid.
Ukcaravans4 hire show zero compassion if the owner is away.
So many of the reviews show people turn up to the site and either the caravan has been sold or they have no access.
Disgraceful company.

Website and booking process straight forward but that's where the positives end.
There is no customer support when issues occur. I have emailed and made contact on WhatsApp due to very poor cleanliness and maintenance of the so called Gold graded caravan we stayed in last week in Dorset and have had no response from anyone. Owner doesn't care, ukcaravans4hire / Sykes Cottages don't care. Take your money elsewhere because clearly that's the only bit they're interested in!

Very disappointing experience.
We drove almost 4 hours with our children to the caravan park, only to discover on arrival that the reception did not have the caravan key. We were then informed that the caravan owner was supposed to send us separate instructions by email explaining where the key was located, but this was never properly communicated.
The website support team told us they could not do much because the issue was with the caravan owner, who apparently also did not answer his phone . Although the person on the phone tried to help, there was ultimately no solution.
As a result, after a whole day of travelling during our limited summer break, we had to turn around and drive all the way back home with very disappointed children. To make matters worse, the park itself was fully booked, so we could not even arrange alternative accommodation directly through reception.
This was honestly a chaotic and extremely stressful experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this situation was unacceptable and completely ruined our family trip.
Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding bookings through this website, especially when dealing with privately owned caravans rather than direct park bookings.

AVOID AT ALL COST. DEFINITELY USE OTHER PLATFORMS. I'm on so many more and have no issues.They took over my listing when the company got sold. I've been asking to close down my account for them to take months ! They bill you cancellation which they dont inform you of at no point. They also add some sort of insurance fee too ! No other platforms do any silly add ons like this one. 100% go through websites like booking.com, airbnb ! Much better customer service and understandable fees. This company is a mess. Looking at other reviews now it makes sense.
EVERYONE DON'T DO THE SAME MISTAKE AS IT WILL COST YOU MORE ! ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT.

The insurance scheme is not worth the paper it is written on. I was taken into hospital on the 31st March which was 3 weeks before the rental was due to commence. From the following day my wife tried to contact Sykes through their lamentable chatbot system. They would not deal with her because I was the insuree. By the time this sorted out, they them said it was too late and refused payout. We will not be using this site to book caravans in future.

Hosted some guests thorough this company since March, and we are yet to be paid. They keep asking me to update the information they have about our company, which i have done for the fourth time now and every time , the payment cycle comes around for us to be paid we, keep getting that it is too late .we have again missed the cycle.

Booked many times with company no problem however Booked caravan for week houburne devon bay for may couldn't see booking for couple weeks then couldn't see owners contact number. Agents couldn't get hold of them .after many phone calls was told to wait the owner will contact you .however red flag so i found out owners hadn't owned this caravan for over a year!phoned and lovely agent didn't even question me!gave me full refund. Load of bookings after mine I saw if you have no owner contact number and agent can't contact them don't wait theres no caravan!

We booked a caravan through UKCaravans4Hire (sister company to Sykes Holiday Cottages) at Golden Palm Resort.
Heres our review of the entire experience:
If you want a confirmed holiday cancelled on the day of arrival, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
If you want to spend 2–3 hours on the phone on Good Friday trying to resolve a problem you didn’t cause, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
If you want “alternative accommodation” suggested two hours away from the location you originally booked, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire..
If you want to be told about several other local options but then informed that none of the owners can be contacted to confirm the booking, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
If you want to be told the team is helping find a solution but then discover the office closes at 1pm, leaving you unable to continue resolving the issue, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
If you want to spend the rest of the day calling other parks yourself because everything is fully booked over the bank holiday weekend, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
If you want to travel around 200 miles for a holiday that ultimately never happens, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
And if you want the only compensation offered for this situation to be 20%, choose Sykes Holiday Cottages / UKCaravans4Hire.
In our case the result was a cancelled holiday, wasted travel, and no accommodation available anywhere due to the Easter bank holiday weekend.
A confirmed booking should mean something. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. If I could, this would be a zero star review.

Whether the caravan was sold or not, is irrelevant. Booking and paying 6 weeks in advance should have flagged somewhere with someone that the caravan was unavailable. It clearly didn’t. We even contacted 36 hours before check-in for key collection details, and it still didnt flag!
UKCaravans4Hire were responsible for their own handling of the situation, and to support and resolve the issue for their customer. Instead, they went home at 1pm and left us for with no choice but to drive 3 hours home at 8pm on Good Friday night with two children.
Four days later… and we had to chase them for a refund!
The lack of compassion for the situation by the customer support team is truly astounding.

Suspicious they are rated much better on here than Google.
Cancelled out trip 3 weeks before we were meant to go. We had booked a 3 bed caravan ar a specific site where the rest of our family were staying, for the Easter weekend. They could not find us an alternative caravan so we were forced to book elsewhere for £100 more than we originally paid. I would have expected this cost to be covered since it was the fault of ukcaravans but no. This was an incredibly stressful situation and cost us extra money we were due to use on our trip away. Do not book with them!

Awful stressful experience with uk caravans4hire/ sykes cottages who bought them out. I was given confirmation on two caravans on the same site and my money was taken. Days later an owner of one of the caravans contacted me directly to apologise that she didn't know why I was given a confirmation as her caravan wasn't available after being on hold with sykes for 40 minutes then another 60 minutes I was offered to move into another available caravan it was over £100 more expensive and no compensation offered but I accepted as really want this break away with my children and grandchildren that I don't get to see enough. Then I contact to ask how I can get hold of the owners to get a code so I can pre book leisure passes to be put through to someone else who started the conversation with I apologise but your caravan has been cancelled I said no no that's been sorted she said no the other caravan has been cancelled I couldn't believe this she said she would get back to me with other options or to refund me.After not hearing anything for 4 plus hours I phoned back waited another 30 minutes on hold to be told there are four other available caravans I could choose from I expressed my surprise as said I had looked and not found another available caravan on the same site for the dates needed he said yes there's 4 I'll send them by email you can look at them at your leisure choose one and phone us back to rebook. I looked and yes 10 minutes later he had emailed me as promised with 4 caravans on completely different sites no use to me whats so ever. I phoned back again another 20 minutes plus wait I requested a refund for both caravans as I could not use either as one is no good to me and they are not offering the service I paid for they stated they could only refund me for the one cancelled and couldn't for the live booking as not their fault I at this time became quite upset and frustrated and asked to speak to a manager as it is their fault if they have bought out a company they are responsible for its service and it is their fault that they are taking peoples money and giving confirmations when the product is not available. I need a refund to be able to afford to book something else so can not wait a long time being messed around. I was told no managers were available and they would email a manager and get them to call me back. I stated she needed to ensure they call me back as have already not been called back when promised. I have now recieved a refund following several phone calls. If you book with them be aware there maybe some issues so have other options available to avoid stress.

Unfortunately the caravan owner cancelled last minute. The team called me and explained the situation and sent me a list of alternative caravans within 5 minutes. When I called to rebook, they offered me a significant discount (as the new place was more expensive) and sorted it all out within a few minutes. Very grateful for their swift response, it took the stress out of the situation and I can now just look forward to my holiday.

I would not use this Company!! I made a booking for my elderly parents in February and are due to arrive today. I called to check where we collect the keys and was told our booking had been cancelled by the owners. How are we just finding that out now. This company should not just be taking peoples money and not checking the bookings are going ahead.
Yes, I was offered alternative accommodation on the same park which will cost me a further £36.99. Who is to say that would be honoured as they would be arriving today and if you are not able to confirm a booking in February how can you confirm a booking for arrival on the same day. Not good enough!! Shame on you!!

Just had my booking cancelled with no reason except it was at the property owners request.
No automatic refund - had to call customer services, wait on hold for 10 minutes just to get my money back.
BE WARNED they are not bothered about the guests only the owners.
