I had an awesome experience with UFODRIVE on a recent trip to Dublin! Picking up the car was so easy, it took no time at all, and we were on our way. We drove it all the way across Ireland to Galway, and with a little advance planning, it was not stressful to find chargers. One time we had a slower charger so went and had lunch, another time we were able to use a super charger and it made for a nice little coffee break. The car was super clean and super modern, and the customer service was awesome, too. I highly recommend!

Made a rental with them and they charged the card. After they took my money I got a bunch of emails asking for additional info and they let me know I needed to download the app. At this point I already landed and needed to pick up car. App would not send me an sms code so I could not log in. Customer service just stalled me wasting an hour of my time and I had to take Uber instead.
Not all inclusive..
So there are lots of good things that can be said about UFO drive for instance you can book a car anytime of the day and pick it up whenever you like as long as it's on the hour of course, the cars are great to drive, especially the polestar 2, good for the environment etc etc. There are however some drawbacks which are pretty hard to ignore or forgive.
1. The deposit. Their policy on this firstly ensures that this is not a car club for the masses but more for the elite - at £538 being the minimum you have to have set aside for the deposit/insurance, not everyone is going to be able to afford the experience.
2. Return of deposit. For those who do manage to stump up the high deposit, do bear in mind that you will be without it for quite some time after the rental has ended. Whereas most car rental companies check over the vehicle and satisfy themselves no damage has been caused to the vehicle and release the deposit within 24hrs of returning, these people take a more nonchalant approach in reuniting their customers with their funds.
I have asked why that is but have yet to be furnished with a reasonable explanation on this particular policy. Shame as this particular policy is a deal breaker for me and why I will be reluctant to book again.
In summary, for those people who have a lot of disposable income and not really affected by the "cost of living crisis" this service will suit you down to the ground - for the have nots or those on a budget you'll need to think twice or just think alternative to using this service

Rented a Tesla Model Y via UFODrive app.
By far the smoothest and most comfortable drive from a rented vehicle and a vehicle I will definitely be purchasing as my next car.
I had no issues with booking once I had successfully registered.
I highly recommend registering before booking a vehicle.
I would also recommend downloading the App as it is user friendly.
The car was easy to find with actual footage on how to get there on the app.
Once you locate and retrieve the car, it is simply a matter of inspecting for damage, signing contract and unlocking with your phone and driving off. Vehicle is accessed through the app, so don’t lose your phone.
One thing to bear in mind, is that there is no service as vehicles are located on Floor -3.
UFODrive has this covered, as they provide free to use Wi-Fi (no password).
If you require help, there is a 24/7 chat on the app.
Just some advice - note the mileage on the Odometer prior to leaving, so you have an accurate idea of the mileage you have used.
In my experience, the app was unable to tell me the miles I had done, so I was unable to keep track on how much I had used when I had stopped driving.
I had raised this up with the 24/7 support team within the app and this appeared to have been an IT issue and had been raised.
Furthermore, when considering insurance options, note that there is a payment hold which is released upon vehicles return. So other than the initial payment for the rental of the vehicle, there is an additional payment put on hold.
Minimum protection is included, however, there is a pre-authorised hold of £2000 which will need to be authorised by your bank, in order for the vehicle to be taken out.
I do not recommend this option.
You have other options to reduce the pre-authorised payment above including:
Standard protection which is £15 on top of the price to rent the vehicle and a pre-authorised hold of £750.
Or
Maximum protection which costs £39 on top and pre-authorised hold of £500.
I would highly recommend maximum protection.
Again prices could be subject to change.
All insurance is third party only and it appears it does not cover, theft/damage etc.
Regarding mileage pre-booking, the first 50 miles are free, however, anything more and you are charged 0.20GBP per mile at a discounted rate. There is an option to purchase more miles after, however, this is not discounted.
This may also differ with other vehicles.
Charging points are suggested and can be located within the app should you need to re-charge vehicle. Simply find your nearest charging point and this can be opened on Apple/Google maps.
Charging your vehicle is free and an AllStar pre-paid card is provided within the central console of your vehicle.
Upon return (same location as pickup) it was as simple as pick up. Again simply inspect for damage, confirm you have closed all doors/windows, take all personal belongings, leave it on charge etc. then close rental service.
Be sure to take all personal belongings as once the rental service has been ended, you will not be able to unlock the vehicle.
Do not make the same mistake I did. Fortunately, there were staff on scene who were able to unlock the vehicle so I could retrieve my £5 vape which has sadly run out at the time of writing this review lol.
I had done 133 miles in total (without charging) and returned the Tesla with 59%.
I was pleased to know that the vehicle did not have to be returned with the % you had taken it out with initially. In my case it was 99%.
The only requirement was that it be returned with > 5%.
Potentially subject to change.
Overall I was thoroughly happy with my self-service experience and will definitely be using UFODrive again. My travels with my wife rewarded me with £7 off of my next drive, 500 points + some trees being planted which I found cool.
Random note - glovebox required a passcode that was not provided. However, there is plenty of storage elsewhere and it was not that big of a deal. This would probably have been provided had I asked.
Also no pets.

UFOdrive LAX experience
Pros:
-Rates were definitely cheap for Teslas and yet my rental runs perfectly fine with no problems
-UFO will cover costs of recharging
-Unique rental car company that doesn't charge you any taxes and fees (be aware of having a credit card with $2500 available for deposit)
-Customer service agents were friendly and helpful 24/7
Cons:
-No US customer service phone number
-Only 1 key is given to you via your phone
Context: I accidentally locked myself out with my phone left in the car. There was an email I received telling me to keep my phone with me at all times when leaving the car, but I forgot about that unfortunately since it was my first time driving a Tesla. Anyways, I was lucky enough to have a couple strangers help me out when they saw my situation. When I looked back at that email using their phone, I was surprised that it didn't contain info. on what to do if I locked myself out. It wasn't shown anywhere on the website either. After 30 mins of trying to find ways to unlock the car and contacting UFOdrive, I found out that I could try to talk to a live agent via chat with the stranger's phone and the agent happily unlocked the car for me in the end.
Overall: Will I rent from UFOdrive in the future? Depends! I was given 150 mi/day of free mileage on my first rental, but the company now changed the free mileage to 50 mi/day on future rentals. Even with the additional mileage rate being cheaper at $0.20/mi instead of $0.25/mi, I would still rent with UFOdrive if I'm not planning on a long roadtrip next time.

Great hire from UFO drive!
We recently hired a Tesla from UFO Drive for a wedding outside Dublin. We cannot fault the service and ease of use whatsoever. When we arrived, the driver met us at the departure drop-off and waited until we loaded everything in.
The car was clean and well-charged for us to get going.
A tiny gripe that we had is that we asked for a kid's seat in the car and it didn't have one. We nipped to a near by Smyths to get one and were on the road again.

I recently had a truly dreadful experience with UFO Drive, a car rental company that left me feeling completely dissatisfied and angered. Not only did they fail to address my concerns adequately, but they also engaged in what can only be described as a theft of my funds. Allow me to elaborate on the issues I encountered during my rental period.
To begin with, I received parking fines for the vehicle I had rented, despite appealing them promptly. The parking fine company assured my that my appeal would be approved given that it was the car park i use to park owned by the gym i frequent, as the car was not officially registered under my name but rather under their rental agreement. They informed me that providing them with the rental agreement would resolve the matter. However, before I had the chance to process this information, UFO Drive unexpectedly paid all the fines within just seven days of their issuance, disregarding the 28-day appeal period mandated by UK law of UK parking fines. Astonishingly, they then forced me to bear the cost of those fines, the manager stating 'our company policy is we pay all parking fines as soon as we get them and invoice the driver . This act was not only unjust but also contrary to what is typically mandated by UK law giving us 28 days to appeal
In addition to this gross mishandling of the parking fines, I encountered further issues when I attempted to extend my rental period. Curious about the significant difference in daily rates between a new booking and an extension for the exact same car model, location, and date, I reached out to the customer support agent, Bogdan. However, instead of providing me with a satisfactory explanation or attempting to resolve the matter, Bogdan simply responded with, "I don't know why it is giving a different cost rate," and abruptly ended the conversation. This lack of accountability and dismissive attitude displayed by a representative of UFO Drive was utterly unacceptable and unprofessional. Bearing in mind the cost difference was £68 for a model 3 21st June to 22nd 20:00 till 20:00) for a new booking on the website and £202 via an extension on existing booking
Throughout my experience with UFO Drive, there was a blatant absence of any meaningful efforts to rectify the issues I faced or provide proper clarification for the discrepancies I encountered. Their customer service was utterly lacking, demonstrating a complete disregard for their customers' concerns and a failure to take responsibility for their own actions.
Regrettably, I cannot recommend UFO Drive as a car rental company due to their terrible service, unjust handling of fines, and their failure to address customer inquiries and complaints. I implore potential customers to consider alternative options that prioritise transparency, customer satisfaction, and a commitment to resolving issues in a fair and timely manner.

Fantastic experience to drive a Tesla. Thank to UFODrive. Best customer service in any rental car company. It's my second time renting with UFODrive in Europe, I had very small issues both times, and the customer service staff went both time above and beyond to help. That would never happen with other rental companies. Just for that, it's a no brainer to rent with UFO Drive.

Ayer fui al centro de Madrid, pase por el aparcamiento para ver donde tiene su flota de vehículos.
Pues bueno, son 5 aparcamientos su flota de vehículos de alquiler.
Pero eso no es todo, ya que estaban ocupados 4 de los 5 y no se podia realizar la reserva, cuando antes desde fuera de Madrid si te dejaba, puede ser que estuvieran reservado a una hora posterior o ya estuvieran reservados.
Cada uno ofrece lo que puede, la espectativa que tenia con las reales no eran las que parecen que se ofrecían.
Parece el precio que es bastante competitivo para el alquiler, son 150 de kilometros por dia.
Recomiendo la empresa por ofrecer probar pagando vehículos eléctricos de demostración.

Came to pick up the car at union square in SF trying to use the service for the first time. It results that they have to 'register you' which may take 24 hrs. They will request your driver license, passport, bank statements, phone bills and at the end 'they can't confirm your account'. Huge red flag by requesting all your personal info. App freezes constantly. Just don't.
