We instructed Trethowans for our conveyancing process with a large property with agricultural land and cannot recommend Marcus Thorpe and his team enough (Codie Thomas and Amy Whittle). We'd had issues finding a solicitor we could trust in the area (we had some odd quotations from other solicitors, lack of response/reply to our questions, incorrect details given about their accreditations, etc), but Trethowans gave us instant confidence. We completed in just over 7 weeks, with not a detail missed by the team so far who were communicative and efficient, turning tasks around in the time other solicitors in my experience could only dream of. As the partner in charge of our file, Marcus was responsive, always contactable and very confidence inspiring with his experience and judgement on some tricky issues. Codie and Amy were the same with an excellent attention to detail, nothing phased the team there. Even when the chain suffered from unresponsive agents and solicitors further back in the chain against some really tight deadlines, the Trethowans team were always on the case before we needed to ask. Everyone we dealt with at the company was very professional. They are good at using technology to speed things up. Our particular contact was Katie Bickerstaff. She was very efficient, available when we needed her to answer a question but otherwise she got on with business and got our deal done in excellent time. Highly recommended.

Honestly the worst legal form to deal with not only will they continue to hit you with hidden charges and review document fees they will break confidentiality but sending out details of your case without permission, they will not treat you as their client and you will be left feeling what was the point in spending all that money with such a poor legal firm who don’t care

Absolutely dreadful service!! I so wish I had read the reviews!! Avoid at all costs!! They will tell you everything you want to hear in the free phone call, but then 'it doesn't work like that'. The communication is awful, if you do hear from them
they will ignore your questions so you have to ask again, different members of the team will ask you for the same info (this is just so they can charge you extortionate costs for no work). They make mistakes which they do not acknowledge. The barrister they used was incompetent and stumped against someone with no legal training. You get no 'advice' from them. Oh and best of all as I found out today, they massively overcharge you! Turns out if you use a different firm, the whole remainder of divorce will cost what these people are charging me per month!! And they actually talk to you!

If you use them, be prepared for huge unexpected bills and no communication unless its to ask for money not even after a complaint. Awful company!! Use someone else!
