Denise Owen guided us through the sale of a letting property that we owned just outside of Salisbury.The process took longer than we might have wished for but the delays were down to other parties and whilst we were somewhat exasperated by the delays Denise has a calm and professional approach that helped us through to completion.

I put in to buy a flat a year ago this month
October there was no chain involved and i had a large deposit to put down there were a few issues that had to be resolved, which took for ever to sort out my main grevience is that i was not allowed into there office to speak to a person everthing had to be done by email which i did not find satisfactory, there was a lot of bickering going on between both of the solicetors involved and in the end i had to get the estate agent to help out on my behalf. which i should not have had to do.
We completed on the 9th of october which was a whole year after i put my offer in. i found the experience quite stressfull. i have dealt with Trethowans a few times over the years and i can honestley say that i wont be using them in the future and i certainly wont be recomending them to anyone else

Trethowans looked after the conveyancing of our flat. This had the usual ups and downs and our Solicitor navigated through these leading to a successful sale.

Denise and Hannah helped us through a process that was made more complicated than necessary by our vendors. They explained everything clearly and were always happy to answer questions. They ensured that issues were resolved correctly rather than left as our vendor's solicitor seemed ready to do.

I chose Trethowans for the proposed sale of my house as a large company and knowing my sale would be a complex one I hoped that if and when I telephoned I would be able to speak to someone to resolve any problem fairly quickly. I was disappointed that this was not for the most part the case. I had to be contact Land Registry repeatedly in order to attempt to speed things up and had to drive to the Council offices twice to obtain copies of documents dating back to 1985 again to speed everything up, totalling 180 miles. Being newly widowed this was the last thing I needed. I felt I did not get the support from Trethowans at that difficult time. At the 6 month point my house sale fell through and the house I wanted to purchase was subsequently purchased by my daughter on my behalf and she also was disappointed with Trethowans.

Perfection is hard to achieve. I gave you four stars as I’m sorry to say that at no time did I feel that I was a “valued” client. I have documents which prove that my family have dealt with Trethowans for more than 120 years and myself personally for more than 50 but that fact was not obviously manifest. In my book attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount.

I appointed Harriet from Trethowans Salisbury to handle some conveyancing/property legal work for me. Harriet was excellent - professional, meticulous, approachable and efficient. She would respond to and answer any questions or queries (via email) I had often within an hour. The matter was concluded efficiently and with zero stress for me thanks to Harriet. I used Trethowans for a house purchase. Unfortunately, I did not feel that their communication was good or that they were responsive to my queries in a timely or professional manner. In all very disappointed.

To be completely honest, I found the whole divorce process very stressful and frustrating.
Initially I was told the worst case scenario would cost me around 10k but 30k later, savings gone, pensions damaged through miss information and allowing pointless communications helped these cost go through the roof.
I had hoped Trethowans would have been a bit more honest about the divorce process, I found some of the advice damaging without a full explanation of the consequences.
Nevertheless, Trethowans managed to see this through with the desired results which I am grateful for.

The task was promptly taken on and attended to.
