I was recommended to Craig Johnston for my children’s application, then finances. Firstly I was impressed by his family Court knowledge & his application to law. Then his strategic & realistic approach to matters. He is very experienced professional I have seen at first hand in the courtroom & during consultations. I came across Craig by pure accident whilst looking for a barrister. How lucky was I, Craig has been amazing in handling my children and financial hearings so far and has made progress for me where others of more experience and expense previously failed against a foul playing solicitor who represents my ex.
Craig is extremely knowledgeable and makes light work of extremely stressful situations, which believe me helps.
I spent a lot of time looking for a solicitor to represent me but found they were only interested in lining their pockets, whereas Craig is interested in getting a result and has a clear plan on how to get there.

Craig Johnson worked on my case and got an amazing result. He obliterated the other side in a gruelling and complex family case. He represented me and spoke on my behalf, as well as working behind the scenes gathering evidence, creating the bundle, reviewing the evidence, etc. Craig knew my case inside out and despite the fact he was working on many other cases, he went above and beyond to get the result we deserved. Although he is young, he knows his stuff! He was unphased although the other side played dirty and tried to intimidate us. In the face of adversity he was spurred on to fight even harder. Craig is genuinely passionate and cares about getting justice, although if he were representing the other side I absolutely would not want to find myself up against him!

Craig Johnson lied to me, made so many false promises, and threatened to lie to Cafcass about me because I asked for updates on the case.
He was Investigated by the NALP and he quit their organisation before they could throw him out.
Findings were made in their investigation including a lack of honesty, a failure to comply with their code of conduct, as well as general unprofessional behaviour.
He is also no longer a member of the IOP.
I provided the evidence to both organisations.
When I asked for an update in writing, Craig rang my partner and said that I needed to be careful how I spoke to people like him because all it would take is a phonecall to Cafcass and he could say I was aggressive and violent which would cause me problems with them.
He then wrote an email where he said that he trusts there will be no more questions as to what is happening as he had been more than accommodating and was tired of explaining himself.
Craig instructed a Barrister for a fact finding hearing in late 2020.
Craig told me he was submitting an interim contact order at this hearing, that I'd have contact resumed by Christmas, I'd be seeing my children regularly by Easter, and that within 6 months I'd have 50/50 residency/shared custody.
Guess what?
None of that happened!
Between them they refused to take instruction from me at the fact finding which sabotaged a section 7 report because of this, and has dragged the case out for another year!
Stay away from Craig.
When I complained to Court Assistance UK, I spoke to Julie Blackmer.
She was apparently going to investigate him.
This never happened.
When I rang up to find out what was happening she asked my name and just kept hanging up on me the moment she found out.
Craig is no longer a member of the McKenzie Friends website which he previously was.
He also does NOT live in Kent, him and his wife live in Cumbria near Workington, so if you use him and don't do your research you'll pay his travel from Cumbria to Kent, that's a 6-8 hour journey depending on traffic, and at 50p a mile it's expensive.
Craig has such a bad reputation that certain Chambers refuse to associate with him and their Barristers will not take instruction from him.
He will lie to you, constantly ramble, and will make stupid claims such as character assassination of a respondent mother being acceptable behaviour in court.
I've wasted a year and tens of thousands of pounds having to submit c2's, instructing other paralegals, and different Barristers.

They've tried to change their name to FamilyLawUk but it's still the same people.

Numerous Paralegals and Barristers have distanced themselves from Craig because of his disgusting behaviour.

My experience of court assistance uk, has been a positive one, good amount of contact and feedback,including out side of regular office hours, reasonable costs (far lower than a solicitor) craig has done a sterling job for my little boy, after three previous court cases over ten years, we finally have closure and a fair result for my lad. lots of invaluable advice and help in the court and in putting my papers together with me, CAUK assisted me well through out despite teams and covid trying to get in the way. The office staff were excellent as well, good feedback and regular updates. I would use this service again, Craig's been spot on, his knowledge of family law is excellent, I picked Craig because of his credentials also his ASD and personal knowledge of the special needs world, his behaviour in court was professional and skilled, and I personally believe Craig's ASD is an advantage , he was far more diligent and involved than any solicitor would or could be in my experience. Im very happy with the outcome we have achieved and will be recommending this service to family and friends.

Craig has worked through a number of issues for me including attending court and arranging for a barrister to represent me.
I tend to get very confused with the different court processes and very frustrated, until i speak with Craig who very thoroughly explains the situation and all of my options.
I normally contact Craig out of hours by email or text. Very often he replies to me that evening up to 10pm at night if he thinks i am in need of assurance.
I find Craig to be kind, thorough and very professional and would recommend his services.

Would recommend In a heartbeat! Never had one issue with the way Craig conducted himself throughout the process before and after the final hearing I needed him for. He explained everything I needed to know and reassured me each and every step of the way! He even had a car accident on the way to court and still ensured he made it there no matter what! He kept me updated at all times with phone calls and even stayed on the phone with me whilst I went in to court because I was having a panic attack. He was fully dedicated and completely listened to what I needed and wanted. If I ever needed representation again then 100% Craig would be my guy!

We used Craig Johnson to support us on custody / access to our grandson last year. From the start we experienced poor service with calls not being replied to, misleading advice and eventually we discovered Craig had not been telling the truth about material facts to the case. They put us through hell emotionally.
We wanted to make a formal complaint with the company but was told the company wasn't under a governing body and as Craig is taking further training and giving us a full refund we should be happy with that.

I have had a gruelling family court case which lasted for 2 years. Court Assistance UK have done an amazing job. I am so grateful for the work they have done to ensure the best possible outcome for my daughter’s welfare against an abusive, manipulative ex partner with a vendetta. It has not been easy at all, but they have provided an excellent, friendly, compassionate service and made the horrendous experience a lot less stressful.
