A very good experience
I was able to find a wonderful ghostwriter who was easy to work with and had good ideas on how to make my book better for the reader. I appreciated that all the ghostwriters with The Urban Writers had already been vetted. I was able to put my project out on their platform and have ghostwriters respond to the project as well as find ghostwriters I thought would be a good fit for my project and invite them to look at my project. The platform took a little bit to get used to, but they had lots of helpful videos to guide the user. I plan on using The Urban Writers again for my next project.

Disappointed
I have had two manuscripts written.
The first one I rewrote to match the style I needed and removed popular jargon around issues not relevant to the subject. There was also a few research errors, but I know she is human and that I have the ultimate responsibility to catch that.
The second manuscript I abandoned completely because it was written by a person less familiar with English and grammar, spelling, and sentence structure suffered. It was going to involve too much time to edit and comb through. The author did not follow the outline and chose politically oriented topics tangentially relevant, and left obviously relevant topics out.
I don’t think I’ll use TUW next time i need a manuscript written. Sorry.

Didn't work for me.
After interviewing/chatting with countless potential ghostwriters and then formally interviewing and paying for writing samples from 4, I ended up being uninspired by any of them and choosing a different platform to find a ghostwriter. I found the platform itself more complicated than it needed to be as well. It is not intuitive and actually confusing. I consider myself technically savvy, but struggled with it nonetheless. For the record, I was open to utilizing all available tiers and price points for writers. I do plan to give it one more try down the road, but after spending weeks navigating a search and interviews, it was discouraging to come up empty-handed. I am considering looking for a line editor through UW. We'll see.

Communication is flawed and this AI and writers not reading their work is a problem.
It took too long because communication is only through chat and the differences in timezones. No one wants to talk on the phone to clarify anything. The company policy's are difficult to deal with because it says that you can't complain or say that the writer uses AI. Using AI is helpful, but you must read and edit everything. Anyway, I'm not happy with my experience and I may not use them again. Heck I can use AI myself instead of paying them to do it. SMH.

The writer was not the quality expected…
The writer was not the quality expected for the price. The editor did not do a good editing work even after telling what I wanted to edit.
It was more about trying to get more money out of me.
