Very happy with the saddle
Very happy with the saddle. Lovely condition and a reasonable price. They had a problem with their website after I made a purchase which they dealt with fairly well but did say i would get a confirmation email, which I didn't. I was cut off whilst talking on the phone about the collection. On collection from their premises I had to call them as I rang the bell and no one replied. I think a charge of £10 to change the gullet when you have the gullet and have just made a £700 purchase is a bit poor. It would have been nice customer service and wouldn't have cost them anything to help, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Regarding the £10 bar swap fee, we do understand how this can feel disappointing. We carry out thousands of bar swaps each year, and each one takes around 15 minutes per saddle. There is a real wage cost involved in paying our staff for the time required to complete these safely and correctly, which is why the charge applies.

Outright saddle sellers beware of this company trying to charge for the return of your own property should they decide not to purchase on some whim they don’t even list in their own Ts and Cs!
As a seller, my experience was very disappointing. My saddle was declined following inspection due to a vague “straightness” concern, (for the record the saddle is not obviously wonky at all else I would not have sent it in) which is not clearly defined in the published T&Cs and does not align with the listed reasons for rejection (broken tree, reflocking, or requiring work done by a saddler).
I was asked to cover return costs, with reasoning framed around what would be “unfair” to the business rather than referencing contractual terms.
Sellers should be aware that assessments appear to involve subjective criteria beyond what is explicitly stated and should The Saddle Bank decline to purchase the saddle they will demand you pay to have it returned to you. My saddle was only returned to me free of charge AFTER I mentioned taking advice from a governing body. Sellers beware!
Well thank you for your reply The Saddle Bank however there is no clear twist in the tree you are grossly exaggerating to cover yourselves. I would hardly send in a saddle with a clear twist as you so call it as it would obviously be rejected and be a waste of time. Your response says it all trying to place blame onto sellers. So sellers watch out!

We take great pride in offering the highest possible standard of service and always aim to resolve any issues as quickly and fairly as we can.
When we provide a quotation for a saddle, our intention is always to proceed with the purchase rather than reject it. Unfortunately, upon arrival, your saddle was promptly inspected and found to have a clear twist in the tree. As we would never knowingly sell a saddle with a structural fault, we had no option but to reject it.
This was communicated to you as soon as the issue was identified, along with photographs to clearly demonstrate the twist in the tree. While we appreciate that this may have been disappointing and may not have been something you were previously aware of, the condition of the saddle meant rejection was unavoidable.
As outlined in the contract sent with the original quote, the checks we carry out are clearly stated, including that if a saddle is rejected due to a tree fault, the return postage cost is the seller’s responsibility. For clarity, we covered the cost of the initial collection.

Excellent communication , and really helpful with all aspects of selling a saddle to them. I decided to swap from the commission option to them buying outright, and I received the payment within 24 hours. It removed all the stress of selling a saddle and worries about scams etc. would definitely recommend.

Selling my saddle was so straight forward and simple from start to finish. I received a quotation the same day I completed the enquiry form. Once accepting the offer transport of my saddle was arranged within a few days. After it was uplifted by a well known delivery company I received money to my bank account in 2 days.
