Left wing rag
This "newspaper" has become a mouthpiece for left wing nutjobs like Owen Jones. There is not even any attempt at impartiality and this rag has not one ounce of journalistic integrity. I wouldn't even use this rag for compost. Any good reviews you see for this newspaper are most likely from guardian employee's.
Gone from bad to worse since Rusbridger left.
The Guardian always had a clear political bent, which to some degree I agree with and enjoy reading. But unfortunately this paper is no longer the exciting, bold and progressive outlet it once was. What is left in these dire times for print news?
A couple of decent writers and some decent investigative journalism from time to time. But unfortunately also jam packed with clickbait, sensationalism, omissions, biased reporting, and twitter quotes as consensus on public opinion. Very anti-science when the science doesn't fit the agenda, and full of dubious and cherry-picked statistics. The opinion pieces are often frankly laughable and full of misinformation, manufactured outrage, misunderstandings of statistics, science and evidence, and yet more "twitter as fact" style of editorial. The modus operandi seems to be to stir outrage and get people clicking, commenting and sharing to increase ad revenues.
The other point worth making is that comments below the line are often heavily censored in order to create the impression that the consensus is in agreement with the editorial line. This doesn't always work as sometimes there would be no comments left if all the disapproving ones were deleted (see: Owen Jones articles) but I will often note a comment that was simply stating counterfacts or a logical rebuttal or contrary evidence disappeared by the Graun's hit squad despite not breaking the "community guidelines" as stated. Permanent bans for people who repeatedly value truth and honesty are not uncommon. Very dishonest and very disingenuous, but it is clear that for all the phoney high and mighty piousness, clicks are king and credibility is to be sacrificed if it stands in the way.
Rather poor journalism
Rather poor journalism. They're simply activist ideologues that spout the kind of braindead political dogma that you tend to find on a college campus. Except they're grown adults...
The tone of every article is simply: Tory, Tory, Tory, Capitalism, Capitalism, RACIST! RACIST! Islamophobia, Trump, Trump, Trump, RACIST! Tory.
Quite predicable & boring after a while.
Oh and I've never seen as much censorship & editing over a comments section. On no other site have I encountered as much censorship. If you're critical of them in any way whatsoever then your comments won't be allowed... in fact, if you post any opinion that doesn't conform to their world view you'll be moderated. If you report an abusive message (that they happen to agree with) you'll be blocked from reporting a comment again. Total control over public opinion is what they want. Proper little tyrants. Vile.
On a plus note I do like their photography & cooking section.
No Fake News!
In these times of fake news and social media not very credible, this is one of the reliable newspapers.
Economically, reading online is free, if you can't afford to pay for a subscription.
Although, you can make an annual, monthly or one time donation, which I already did with pleasure.
If you want to read reliable news and regardless of your finances, you can do it. Highly recommended!
Good content, reasonable subscription fees if you wish to support them.
They provide all content free, which is certainly not the norm these days. Their subscription offers are reasonable and it's good to help support them.

These people are activists posing as journalists publishing propaganda and lies far to regularly to be used as a source for anything.
