No nous no work ethic Guardian failed staff stalking and recycling content from hobby bloggers on Twitter. Pathetic.
Poor Guardian...used to be a good read
'What a relief! Sunak the Sensible is here and the chaos has all magically gone away' by Marina Hyde
This is typical of the trashy, sarcastic, hopelessly unbalanced article trying to be funny and critical at the same time. Twice subscribed and twice cancelled, I occasionally look at the headlines to see if there is anything worth reading (hope over experience). Mr Sunak has only been appointed PM yesterday and already this 'so-called' journalist has started throwing the sh--t. Ironically, the headline whilst aimed at Tories is a perfect summing up of what they think a Labour government can do. They have taken immaturity and bigotry to a new level. 'Vote Labour everyone - even if a donkey is your candidate. It will be a better MP than a vile Tory.'
Appalling service
Apparently it is not obvious to delivery person to put the paper through the letter box instead they throw it on the step at the door. The house is on a main road with high foot fall and they are surprised when the paper gets stolen. Apparently you have to give instructions on how you want the paper delivered. Common sense does not appear to come into it.
Do not subscribe to anything - basically fraud
Why should I have to sit on a charged line for 10 minutes to cancel a subscription? You have the technology to allow me to sign up and pay online? Absolute Con and thought better of the Guardian.
Never subscribe
Do not ever subscribe to The Guardian, of which I am a reader of 30 years. I tried to cancel my subscription - which can only be done via a phone call. The subscription auto-renews and there is no option to turn it off through online account management. I emailed them but they would not accept that cancellation, insisting I had to call. I called and then got the hard sell at a 'reduced rate'. I said I was 'pissed off' by their practices - having already noted that I would still likely make one-off donations, as I love the paper - and was angrily told the call would be ended because I used 'obscentiies'. I think 'pissed off' is a mild reaction The Guardian's business practices here. This is what I would expect of some dodgy outfit selling mobile phone insurance, not a newspaper like The Guardian. Their behaviour is not merely shameful it is self-destructive. They will never see another penny from me in this lifetime.
today report shop shortages
today report shop shortages ,when there isn't just to make people panic buy.
The very worst.
The very worst.
They have become almost total censorship/moderation now.
Nothing else they do/report on matters given this is how they act.
Hard to cancel
I signed up online but was then told I can't cancel via email and need to call them and get through a sales call before they can cancel my subscription. A shady practice I didn't expect from The Guardian. I will ask my credit card company to do a chargeback and make sure I never give The Guardian money again.
Used to be a good centre-left…
Used to be a good centre-left publication but over the last few years has drifted into full-on anti-western anti-business anti-conservative insanity. I work in the environment / water sector and most of the stories they publish on the topic are so inaccurate as to be border line lies. A weird newspaper run by middle/upper-class elites who hate themselves and this country and everything it stands for and has achieved
The Worst Newspaper in Britain
The Guardian represents the bigoted, intolerant, narrow-minded, anti-British opinions of the out-of-touch Metropolitan "liberal" elite.
I just cant...
Ive been an avid reader of the Guardian for more than 5 years. One thing i have noticed, is that they cover up every important story and leave you with virtue signalling b*****t.
They claim to be left wing but theres nothing left wing about them. I'll explain why:
-When Azerbaijan attacked Armenia, Guardian posted an article about middle aged sex. I dont even know if they mentioned anything. Same happened when a famous dictator threw his guard dogs on the people who were protesting against him. Oh also he prohibited abortions. Yes Guardian, we do not live in a bubble
-When some balkan countries, or a specific Mediterranean country with a red flag openly express national socialism, somehow they are brave. Take dua lipa for example. She was hailed as a brave woman when she uploaded a flag presenting her country with different borders (well...you know which country im talking about). This flag is equal to a nazi flag btw.
-Guardian always points the finger. In the economic crisis they blamed the Greeks. Now they blame the brexiteers.
-Sucking Sadiq Khan's d****k much?
Thats all
What people don’t understand is The…
What people don’t understand is The Guardian is cultivating right wing views, it’s creating them. They are only revictimising the people they are supposed to be defending. The Guardian never means what it says because their opinions never change, they’ve found what sells and stuck with it.
A right-wing slur campaign against the UK's most trusted newspaper...
How come Trustpilot is full of negative reviews of The Guardian by right-wing prats who clearly haven't the brains to actually read it?... and are just slagging it off because it doesn't accord with their politics. Extraordinary when all honest surveys of opinions on the media show The Guardian to be the most trusted UK newspaper... and it is certainly the only one NOT owned by some rich media mogul with his own conservative and money-grubbing axe to grind. Such biased reviews only discredit Trustpilot.
The reason why foreigners coming to UK…
The reason why foreigners coming to UK 🇬🇧 have to pay for our NHS service is because they are foreign. They have no entitlement to a free service like we don't in there countries. We should have been charging them years ago.
Great content, and it's free
In a country where right-wing bias is rife in the media, effectively loading the dice against political persuasion in the centerground or left, it is important to champion the few remaining vestiges, of which The Guardian, for my money, is the best in the UK.
For one thing, the content is entirely free. I've used The Guardian website for decades now, and can never begrudge the not-so-subtle attempts for money when I'm reading brilliant articles, superb football analysis, and knowledgeable culture pieces. Of course, the political pieces are where the paper/website shines, with razor sharp and witty one-liners from Marina Hyde, or insightful and important issues raised by George Monbiot, to name a couple. Even so, The Guardian isn't an left-wing echo chamber, often providing a platform for guest writers to share their views. Allowing a range of opinion is something I respect, when - as I say - the majority of media in the UK is so heavily skewed to one side, it's practically Orwellian.
Like any media outlet, The Guardian has its issues. Championing causes on social equality and justice on the one hand, but somehow failing to get behind political figures of the same ethos, being one example. While this isn't something that bothers me necessarily (I'm politically ambivalent), I can see where others would find fault. For me, just having something which provides intelligent views, news, sport, culture etc. from a standpoint which isn't vehemently right-wing is enough to get my support (which says a lot about the state of things at the moment, I admit). And, again, it's free.
Marxist propaganda which not only…
Marxist propaganda which not only proliferates the 'news' articles, but also the cultural sections, TV reviews, music reviews, everything.
Ironically, almost all the journalists are posh urbanites with little to no understanding of the working class.
What a useless bunch of lefty wet rags
What a useless bunch of lefty wet rags! Twist everything to suit a communist agenda. Poisonous bunch of toxic reporters who hate anything that suggests success or positivity. Preachers of doom, hate and envy. Clearly traumatised folks who have experienced injustice and rather than accept the shortcomings of humanity, they seek someone to blame for their own negative feelings. Anyone who plays victim, refuses to take responsibility for themselves. Hello Guardian reporters!
Primrose Hill Troubles? This isn’t journalism.
Primrose Hill troubles.
This isn’t about youth enjoying open spaces in the summer after a long period of lock-down and privileged types objecting, as the moronic Guardian journalist suggested without bothering to do even minimal research.
They are using people’s front gardens as toilets, excrement everywhere, plants dying because they’ve been drenched in urine, threatening residents with violence for asking them not to and openly drug dealing using electric scooters to deliver ‘baggies’ from a cavalcade of SUVs parked up on the shoulder of the hill.
Loud music from multiple sources, ALL night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the kind earplugs cannot shut out, going on until dawn. Fireworks, screaming and shouting.
Broken glass everywhere, a danger to everyone and dogs in particular. Litter on an industrial scale.
Not in my back yard? NOBODY wants this in their backyard.
And the Guardian constantly whines and wheedles for donations on it’s website!
The sooner this kind of print journalism dies, the better.
