What a useless bunch of lefty wet rags

What a useless bunch of lefty wet rags! Twist everything to suit a communist agenda. Poisonous bunch of toxic reporters who hate anything that suggests success or positivity. Preachers of doom, hate and envy. Clearly traumatised folks who have experienced injustice and rather than accept the shortcomings of humanity, they seek someone to blame for their own negative feelings. Anyone who plays victim, refuses to take responsibility for themselves. Hello Guardian reporters!

Primrose Hill Troubles? This isn’t journalism.

Primrose Hill troubles.
This isn’t about youth enjoying open spaces in the summer after a long period of lock-down and privileged types objecting, as the moronic Guardian journalist suggested without bothering to do even minimal research.

They are using people’s front gardens as toilets, excrement everywhere, plants dying because they’ve been drenched in urine, threatening residents with violence for asking them not to and openly drug dealing using electric scooters to deliver ‘baggies’ from a cavalcade of SUVs parked up on the shoulder of the hill.
Loud music from multiple sources, ALL night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the kind earplugs cannot shut out, going on until dawn. Fireworks, screaming and shouting.
Broken glass everywhere, a danger to everyone and dogs in particular. Litter on an industrial scale.

Not in my back yard? NOBODY wants this in their backyard.

And the Guardian constantly whines and wheedles for donations on it’s website!

The sooner this kind of print journalism dies, the better.

On the day of Prince Phillip's Funeral

So every paper from the Times, The Telegraph, even down to the gutter Press carries a lovely front page photo to mark the Funeral of The Duke of Edinburgh.

The Guardian carries a story about pregnant women getting Covid vaccinations, and the passing of an actress. I neither criticise or make light of either of these topics but here is the TRUE Guardian showing disregard and disrespect. Contribute to the Guardian they ask you on the website. I'd rather go and buy some tinned food and leave in our local Church. At least that is a sincere service they offer with no hidden lefty agendas.

Cancelling subscriptions over the phone is outdated and defers me from having a new membership

I really enjoy the guardian as a news outlet but I am not impressed with their subscription management. I wanted to cancel my guardian weekly subscription as going away for a while, which can be only done over the telephone with very long waiting times (over 30 minutes). With almost all subscriptions you can cancel online on your account in a few clicks. Having to call is not user-friendly and deferred me from taking a membership in the future again.

The Guardian in decline

The Guardian could be an excellent paper if it was not immersed in left wing rhetoric. For a paper that 'prides' itself in its standard of journalism its determination to reject a more balanced view is hastening its demise as a newspaper, which is rather sad. In September 2020, Zoe Williams penned an article about Diane Abbott. At the end of this rather flattering piece of journalism she made the following statement: "Millions are turning to the Guardian for open, independent, quality news every day". However, in terms of circulation the newspaper has dropped from 302,000 in 2010 to 141,000 in 2020. The Guardian cannot simply lay the blame on digital versions, the i newspaper for example has increased its circulation from 133,000 to 233,000 over the same period. So at the very least, the statement above made by Zoe Williams is extremely misleading.

The Guardian Weekly Subscription

I took out an offer, 6 copies for £6.00.
The magazine itself is good, but I decided it wasn't for me.
The problems occurred when I tried to cancel the subscription.
I called them in late October and was assured it was cancelled. They still billed me on the 12th November. I had to call their customer services 2-3 times, and they said it would take 5-7 working days for a refund. Luckily, I was able to cancel the direct debit with my own bank and the funds were returned to my account the day after.
It wasn't a great experience, however, the people I did speak to, were polite and apologetic.
I will not sign up for another subscription with them - too much hassle.

The Guardian used to be a serious newspaper, now a lefty fanzine

The Guardian used to be a serious left of centre/liberal newspaper. Better than the red tops and the go-to for non-sensationalist balanced news.
Since however moving to the paid supporter model for funding all that's changed.
Now it's a lefty fanzine. The editorial stance seems to be give the supporters what they want, never write an article that might challenge their hard-left views and pander to them even to the extent of censoring any contrary views in their comments sections.
It really has dropped to red top standards and is 100% tribal. Tories bad, the left good. No attempt to be honest or fact check and very very little real journalism. The 'news' seems to be copy and paste from other news sources and the bulk of the content is un-fact-checked opinion pieces masquerading as news.

Its decline is very very sad. How long it will survive is anybody's guess.
