Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, wish I could understand the language because it's not English! Poor network coverage, unable to speak to other Tesco mobiles. Yet they keep saying nothing is wrong with the signal. Yes there is! Would not recommend taking out a contract with them. Very poor.

Tesco mobile staff trained to lie.

I was unable to access my account online. When I spoke to them on the phone, they lied to me so that they would be able to set up my account so that I would have to use a code sent to my mobile every time I logged on on my computer. I understand the need for security but to lie to customers is despicable.

I am extremely disappointed with Tesco…

I am extremely disappointed with Tesco Mobile’s customer service. For weeks I have been trying to obtain a proof of barring document for my device, which is required by my insurance company. Despite repeated requests, Tesco Mobile has been unable to provide this. As a result, my insurance claim has been blocked and I am left without a working phone. The lack of efficiency, communication, and basic support is unacceptable for a company of this size. I strongly advise others to think carefully before choosing Tesco Mobile.

Zero customer service

Been with Tesco mobile for years but first time I've dealt with customer service. Unable to send text messages from France . Asda mobile and Lebara no problem. Rang customer service 5 days ago tried to fob me off. Assume call centre in India. Told me somebody from tech dept would contact me within 24 hours. Needless to say never happened. Will be ending my long association with Tesco mobile on my return to UK. Would advise using a decent company like Lebara. More data and cheaper. Tesco mobile did offer me compensation 200 clubcard points worth £2. What a joke and still can't text.

Dont call 08 numbers unless your happy to pay £1 per minute

I called my travel lodge hotel knowing it would cost £0.13p per minute, however what I didn't realise was the excessive charges tesco apply to 08 numbers. 0.55p plus an access charge. So I was completely unaware I was paying near £1 per minute just to speak to my hotel reception. Apparently it is in my T&C's but I find this all very underhand when these excessive fees are in the small print.

Look at bills closely

Tesco mobile already expensive for similar sim only plans. Have threatened to leave numerous times (only got 50p loyalty discount) , have just taken the plunge, twice the data unlimited calls and texts for a 3rd of the price. Have just checked my Tesco bills,they seem to be pay a month behind, so April price increase was applied in March!!!

Double Billing if you change billing dates

If you change your billing date Tesco Mobile double bill you , they don’t just adjust the automatically double billing dates you !
And if you complain about it they don’t care !
Absolutely crooked company avoid avoid avoid , customer care is atrocious too

had a phone on contract

had a phone on contract, lost it months ago, got a replacement, had it a few months, it broke last week so i sent it for repairs and im being accused of sending in the original phone which is quite literally impossible as it was lost, got spoken to patronisingly about how IMEI numbers work which i knew about already but it is quite literally IMPOSSIBLE to be the original phone, so thats left me without a phone for another week or two dependant on if their complaints team even bother to read and fix their issue. will be cancelling and going back to EE where they don't make expensive mistakes.

So slow less than 2mbps a second and even when supposedly connected to 5g it's terrible.I believe they are also in the process of turning off 3g which will probably make it even worse!!no 5g in my immediate area aswell.

Pretty useless customer service

Pretty useless customer service! I mislaid my back-up pay-as-you-go phone so they blocked the sim card and sent a new one out. Found my phone but the new sim card didn't work. Another lengthy call with stupid security questions about a phone I seldom use. A further sim card sent out but this still doesn't work. Haven't got the energy to try again!!!

I ordered an upgrade on line

I ordered an upgrade on line. Decided I wanted more data, called Tesco mobile, after managing to get past there automated service and talk to a real person was told I needed to cancel my order and reorder, the call was then terminated. I called later to cancel my order, again speaking to real person, the call which lasted 22 minutes which was mainly silence I was told that I had to wait until the phone had been delivered before I could cancel. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD

Customer service support line on…

Customer service support line on 03453014455 does not try and help at all. I have rang to do a sim swap and have have to ring back another 5 times for them to try and sort due to incompetence on their behalf. Would not recommend.

Poor customer relationships

Do not use their staff they do not communicate. Or care about
Customer relations and take money from your account without permission
Taken nearly a year to sort out problems with t mobile I had to return the faulty phone. And continued. Without their phone. I eventually got a fractional refund And used an old personal android But it is T-Mobile staff in tesco stores who are untrained and unknowledgeable and youths playing games but desperate to sign you up to long and unsuitable contracts do not use sidonie

Shocking customer service

No complaints regarding the phone and sim service but the customer service line was SHOCKING. I called from overseas and had a lady who didn't understand how to cancel the phone subscription due to me leaving the country and kept me on hold most the time or was talking to her colleague while I was still on the line. I explained numerous times that I was calling from Australia and working so I couldn't stay on the line long and she just kept putting me on hold or talking to someone else. I also asked what email was attached to the account as I couldn't access but she refused to tell me and made me wait another 5-10 minutes to change my email address which I was not notified had been changed originally which has made me question the security of my account. I think they need to train their call centre staff better to complete simple jobs and assist clients not telling them to wait. Its a shame the customer service line has been so bad because I have always had such a good experience with tesco mobile.

Began 02/07/25 & 14/07 still no phone

I bought a phone from TESCO about 6 months ago. Two weeks ago it stopped working. I returned it to TESCO and was advised to take it to a phone repair service at my expence. I did that and was told the mother board had failed. I returned to TESCO who then advised me that it was under warranty & they organized for a courier company to pick it up from my house on a day meaning I had to be at home all day. (I don't know why this didn't happen on my first visit) Collecting from TESCOs wasn't an option. I was told that they'd advise me the day that it arrived at the repair place on the same day as as collection from me, if would be repaired or replaced. 5 days later I still hadn't heard until late that day I got an email saying they'd received it and would take up to 10 days to deal with. Two days later I returned to TESCO to say that this was going on too long. I'm a pensioner living alone and friends started to wonder if I'd died. I'd had a birthday & wasn't responding to calls & messages resulting in a lonely birthday. I asked for another phone to use while they decided to repair or replace mine. I was told they couldn't do that and suggested that I buy another phone and keep the receipt and return it within 30 days. I felt like I had no choice and took this option. They had little concern that I can't do banking, can't book a doctor's appointment & most importantly cant let friends & family know that I'm ok.

Extremely poor customer service

I was being charged for calls when I still had over 500 minutes on my allowance. An online chat was a total waste of time, as the operator kept referring to my data allowance. The replies were in extremely poor English. I followed this up with a phone call, and again, they could not understand what was a straightforward issue so I'm now being charge about 50p/min for every phone call I make. I have been with Tesco for as long as mobile phones have existed, but I think it's now time for a change!

Useless

Absolute nightmare of a company. I have 3 phones on a contract with them. I just moved to them a couple of months back . The first payment they claimed I hadn’t paid although we signed a direct debit so this is the very same this month ….its like Groundhog Day . No luck calling them I even went into the store and the girl there had no luck …….avoid them like the plague
