Product is okay - horrible customer service
I signed an agreement with Sunnova to add a battery to my solar system back in 2023. The customer service experience has been the worst I have ever received from day one. I don’t have any complaints on the product installed. It’s working just fine. But it took almost two years to get it installed and functioning as they kept failing CPS inspections multiple times and nobody at corporate really seemed to care. Also, I initially referred some family and friends who also got their battery installed - but never received the promised referral money from the Company. I called a few times to check status of that (you would think two years later they would have paid it by now) just to be told that my referrals were never entered into the system by the sales rep (who confirmed to me he was going to do it in the system when I initially purchased the battery) so too bad! I’m out of luck… again just another sign that this Company does not really care about it’s customers. My advice if you are considering Sunnova is… do your research… and don’t expect great customer service.

Sunnova doesn't honor their warranty.
My Sunnova Solar leased system has been malfunctioning since March 26, 2024, and Sunnova refuses to fix it. They sent technicians to check it twice. The first time in August 2024, when they changed out the dedicated meter. That didn't fix the problem. The second time on Sept. 13, 2024. The tech. told me the inverter was bad. Sunnova canceled the work order and didn't fix it. I cut off the auto payments and they shut the system down but won't remove their faulty equipment from my home as I requested. I had 2 electric bills that were over $500 each this last summer. That shouldn't ever happen with this large of a system installed.

Savings are not what was expected!
When first installed Oct 2023 and then turned on Feb 2024, It appeared that all was going well. Summer was fine then Oct came and we got a bill from Eversource! Any and all of the excess power we created was used up. The fourth bill from Eversource is now due for the month of January. At the current rate of solar production it appears that six months of electric usage will not be covered with 100% solar. I have contacted sunnova about this concern and they have started the process to investigate what the issue might be
