Ticket Replacement Scam – Mis-sold and Unresolved

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with StubHub. I purchased tickets specifically for the Manchester United section of an upcoming football match. Unfortunately, the seller canceled my tickets, and I was offered replacement tickets in the Manchester City section. This is not just an inconvenience; it fundamentally changes the fan experience and is unacceptable as a Manchester United supporter.

Despite my efforts to resolve this through customer service, including escalating the issue, I have received no satisfactory resolution. Previous agents assured me that either replacement tickets in the Manchester United section would be provided or a full refund would be issued. Instead, I am being offered a 20% discount coupon or a 10% partial refund, which does not address the core issue. StubHub disputes that the fan section matters, insisting that as long as the replacement tickets are in the same tier, they are a suitable replacement. This is simply not true; being in the rival team’s section drastically changes the experience and is unacceptable for me.

Furthermore, I feel that I have been mis-sold the original ticket. I purchased it specifically based on it being for the Manchester United section, and receiving tickets for the rival team feels like a fraudulent misrepresentation of what I paid for.

With the event just 24 hours away, the situation remains unresolved. I have also been informed that a final response might not come until the end of the day. Given this tight timeline and the possibility of no refund being processed, I feel compelled to escalate this matter through consumer protection agencies if necessary.

I urge StubHub to honor its commitments and provide the full refund as per their FanProtect Guarantee. The StubHub website also states i can get a refund if I don't accept replacement tickets - but they are refusing this
This is a matter of customer rights and trust, and I hope for a swift and fair resolution.

EDIT - Since the review StubHub acknowledged their error and provided replacement tickets in correct section. It did not compensate for the poor customer service experience and stress caused - following further feedback to customer service now Stub Hub have provided a full refund to compensate for the issue and experience with customer service. This is much appreciated and I hope that in the future the Buyer Guarantee policy is honored without such hassle from customer service

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I traveled for tomorrowland and couldn't enter as the tickets were photoshopped. I called stubhub.ie and they were like oh sorry that happens we'll reimburse you. I spent >1000£ to travel to Belgium.

No ticket and no answer to requests

I didn't receive my ticket for which I payed 900 Euros. The customer servece has not answered to any of my requests, so I was not able to attend the concert. They claim to answer within 48 hours, but I have not heared from them in two weeks.
Update: After my complain here I got my money back verry quickly. I still won't give them more than three stars, because I had to go this far to get an answer. But at least I have my money now...

Avoid this company

Back in April I bought tickets for the Eras tour in London for this upcoming August. When I bought the tickets there was a disclaimer stating that the seller was an employee or contractor of StubHub or was representing an employee or contractor of stub hub. This gave me peace of mind because I didn't think an employee would scam me. Right after I purchased the tickets I recieved an email from a woman named Susan (the seller), stating she didn't have the tickets yet but would transfer them to me when she recieved them, she included a screen shot of the tickets she had purchased and they weren't even close to the ones I purchased. I had selected row 8 and she had row 43. If it was a couple of rows different I wouldn't care but 35 rows is a huge jump. I immediately contacted stub hub and the first person who got back to me was amazing and said he could refund me or get me replacement tickets. Before I could respond someone else emailed me from stub hub saying there was nothing they could do because they can't guarantee rows (which makes no sense since they're advertising 100% fan guarantee) and the only way to get my money back was to repost them on their site (so they get more money in fees from the sale) and I should list them as row 8 and rip someone else off. I went back and forth with stub hub for about a month because I didn't want to scam someone else and eventually someone responded offering me replacement tickets or a 17% credit on my account if I wanted to keep the tickets I had. This was over a month ago, I had replied saying I'd like replacement tickets and I haven't heard back since. I've sent follow up emails and no reply for about six weeks now. This company has been a headache to deal with and does not stand behind their 100% fan guarantee. All I want is a response to my email and some tickets comparable to what I purchased

UPDATE: stub hub responded to my review saying to email them with a certain subject line. It's been 5 days. No response. I recieved an email confirming they got my email but still haven't heard back from a person.

UPDATE 2:

I finally heard back from Stub Hub and was given three options, 1. Get a new set of tickets for a different night but be behind the stage 2. Get a set of standing room only tickets for a different night or 3. Receive a £300 refund and keep the last row tickets I received. Since we wouldn't be in town for the nights the other two options were for I had to go for option three which was still a huge slap in the face considering they advertise a 100% fan guarantee and flat out scam you. I bought and paid for row 8 and was given row 43 and they think this is acceptable
As another slap in the face they have continued to call me and email me almost every day asking me to update my review, I couldn't get help from anyone at this company for months until I posted a review here and now I'm endlessly bombarded with voicemails and emails now that they need something from me. I highly recommend if you can avoid using stub hub international you should do so.

StubHub tickets for the Eras Tour

I bought StubHub tickets for the Eras Tour in Hamburg (July 24th) yesterday. I was a bit nervous to use a third-party seller but everything went well, I received the tickets on Eventim only a few minutes after buying (2 days before the deadline according to StubHub so that was very good!) and they were personalized to my name so I won't have to worry about ID checks.

The only issue I had with StubHub were the huge service fees. The ticket I bought was listed for €399 but it ended up costing me €521 because of €122 in service fees. This is ridiculously high, service fees for concert tickets should be no more than 10-15%. It would be also be nice if StubHub could include the service fees in the price the tickets are listed for.

StubHub tickets - Euro 2024 Serbia Vs England

Purchased tickets from StubHub for Serbia Vs England Euro 2024 and the tickets were in one of the four corners of the stadium (neutral/mixed - no team preference). Got a phone call from StubHub offering a free upgrade. They moved me and my young children into Serbia Fans First section and I am an England fan. Lots of back and forth led to admittance of error and a full refund offer, which I accepted. This is all in writing. However, StubHub then refused the refund after the event had taken place leaving me no opportunity to resell. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had and 855 Euros out of pocket for an event I did not attend and was promised a refund for. Now looking to lodge a legal challenge.

Following the above public review, StubHub have acknowledged they were wrong and have refunded my tickets. Just a shame it took a review on a public forum after weeks of back and forth.

The support is useless

The support is useless. Nobody cares! I had to list tickets for EURO 2024 final, i sent them the invoice and i got a reply that i am able to list the tickets in 30 minutes.
5 days later i get the same message.

Contacted them again and i got no response.

Avoid them if you are trying to SELL something.

LE: Do you think you can help me 2 weeks after the event is over? haha, bloody, ha! Still 1*.

LE 2: I was trying to sell tickets. This is unbelievable. Actually 1* is too much for you.

STUB HUB IE RIP OFF

Geniunely awful experience with this company. I booked some tickets for a tom jones concert which turned out to be an event 1 year away which makes no sense to me as I have looked online and these tour dates have not been released anywhere else but on there website? which I have checked on the official website of the artist himself does not exist. when asked for a refund due to this they have said it is not possible.

also the prices which they sell items at are exaggerated and never correct even though they still have tickets available on there site for this gig...which again points to this company simply ripping people off.

I would strongly advise nobody ever use this website again for tickets as they are scammers.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND ONLY USE TRUSTED SUPPLIERS THIS COMPANIES REVIEWS SPEAK FOR ITSELF!

StubHub Canceled My Sale After Successful Ticket Transfer

Here's the situation:

I'm based in the Netherlands and I sold my Taylor Swift tickets via StubHub International (which is based in Spain) on May 14th. I successfully transferred the tickets to the buyers on June 29th, and the transfer was confirmed as "complete" in my Ticketmaster account. The buyers accepted the tickets without any issues.

However, despite the successful transfer, I kept receiving emails from StubHub asking me to retransfer the tickets. This was technically impossible and unnecessary, given that the transfer was already completed and accepted. To make matters worse, StubHub representatives asked me twice to violate my privacy by:

- Sharing my Ticketmaster email with the buyer.
- Contacting the buyer directly and changing my Ticketmaster credentials to hand over to the buyer.
These requests are not only against StubHub’s policies but also a clear violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which mandates the protection of personal data and prohibits the sharing of credentials or personal information without proper safeguards.

Because I refused to comply with these unjust requests, StubHub ended up canceling the sale. I've formally disputed this cancellation and lodged a complaint regarding the GDPR violations. Here's a brief outline of my formal complaint:

- Successful Transfer of Tickets: The tickets were sold on May 14th and successfully transferred on June 29th, as confirmed by the "transfer complete" status in my Ticketmaster account.
- Repeated Requests Violating Privacy: StubHub representatives repeatedly asked me to share my Ticketmaster email and contact the buyer directly, which is against their policies and GDPR regulations.
- Cancellation Due to Non-Compliance: The sale was canceled because I refused to comply with these requests.

So if you are considering to be a seller (an ethical one), don't do it on StubHub international. Even when you have successfully completed your part, and the buyer accepted the tickets, there's a chance that your sale might be canceled.

Update 09/08/2024:

The resolution basically got to nowhere. Have now filed a claim via the ecc. And also prepared to take them to court under the European payment order system 💪🏼

Awful experience

Awful experience, nearly missed the game because of them. I purchased 2 tickets to England Slovakia game, ensuring the tickets stated England Fan Section (3-4 times more expensive than the Slovakia fans section in the same category) when I received the tickets it was in Slovakia Fans Section. After contacting them, doing everything I was asked to do, they tried to convince me it was in England fans section (even though it clearly stated Slovakia fans). At first they looked helpful to try and solve the matter but all they said was not to worry and enjoy the event and it will all be sorted up until 3 hours before the event, they told me they can’t get me England fan section tickets but to refund. On the day of the event all my friends were enjoying their day in pubs, fanzones etc. I was in a hotel room trying to sort my tickets with stub hub int. after spending thousand of pounds, they ruined my experience. They left me hanging till 3 hours before the game, because of this company I had to spend another £250 on taxis to get my tickets sorted and go to the game. They were never apologetic and all they said was it was sellers fault, when I questioned if the seller would have some consequence because he was clearly trying to scam people by putting wrong info to gain higher selling price their response was that “I should only worry about my tickets and the rest is not my place”. Basically awful experience and ruined day because of them.
Just to add on, I am also expecting a high phone bill for contacting their customer service line and spending about 3 hrs on the phone in abroad.

Update;
Stubhub got in touch with me after left this review and acknowledged my frustration and gave me €100 gift voucher to compensate my ruined experience and financial loss. They were also very apologetic for my experience. It did convince me that it is a legit company and they take responsibility on their action so I am taking my 1 star review to 4 star but unfortunately even tough I do understand sometimes things might be out of their hands, however I cannot give them more than 4 star because of the what I had to deal with on my once in a life time day.

Easy experience would recommend for sure. Just stay calm when buying or selling, patience is the key

To be fair I don’t write many reviews and seeing 2.8 score on here I was a bit dubious, therefore I wanted to give feedback for any doubters like myself.

I come on here as a seller, sold a few tickets for the euros and the transition was pretty smooth all the way. The issue is contact with the buyer, some do not contact at all however I sold the tickets sent immediately and my payment as it said on all tickets was sent within 5-8 days no issues at all.

I had a small issue which I was able to resolve right away with Facebook messenger chat (that’s the best as the bot wasn’t very useful and the emails took a while to get a reply).

All in all a very easy and stress free experience. I believe as a buyer it would be stressful as it’s all down to the seller in the end but the secure and guarantee they have should squash those doubts. I would recommend.

Fantastic experience buying from StubHub!

I went to see Liam Gallagher in Manchester last night - a dream come true. StubHub international were fantastic in every way - their customer service was exceptional. Due to all of the negative reviews I was worried my tickets wouldn't be valid. However, they were and each time I called they answered my questions fully and helped to put my mind at rest. Gegi in particular was fantastic. He followed up my call with an email reassuring me that the relevant department had checked my tickets and that I would have no problem getting in, which I didn't.
I think a lot of the negative reviews on here are due to the fact that StubHub international is a separate company from StubHub NA.
I had a fantastic experience and wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets from them again in future. Thank you StubHub!!

Silverstone F1 - bad experience

I bought tickets to Silverstone Formula One. The seller is playing games and telling me he will transfer the tickets in a few days on several occasions. But he does not. It has been weeks. I have called Stubhub international 3 times. They promise me everything is going to be ok, but they are not helping. I have travelled overseas for this event. I will never buy from Stubhub international again. They have poor customer service and are unable to help you since they are only the middle person. I have no recourse, and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it but pray.
Update. I did get the tickets at 9pm the day before the event. One ticket to one mobile phone, another to a second mobile phone, two tickets to another one, the night before the race, sitting in a hotel in the middle of nowhere hoping we’ll see the race. Very stressful situation for having purchased 4 tickets together.
I appreciate the small refund given as a concession and raised the rating from 1 to 3

Great experience for Taylor Swift at Lisbon

Bought Tickets for Taylor Swift in Lisbon and everything was great and simple. I was kept informed all the way since I bought the tickets until I received the transfer with different emails to let me know when tickets were being released. Thank you! You made my daughter’s day!

The worst experience with StubHub

The worst experience with StubHub. Brought tickets a month before but didn’t get the ticket at all! They are scammer. We called several times they couldn’t help us to get our tickets. Never buy any tickets from them.

With that in mind, we understand that you made the purchase from another company than ours.

As officially stated on our page, in 2021 the StubHub business went through a transition and the StubHub’s North America and international businesses got separated and two distinct platforms were created for our users.
This means that if you bought or sold your tickets through www.stubhub.com and/or www.stubhub.ca we can't access to any information regarding your order nor support you as the transaction was made with a different company. We can only access information about purchases made through StubHub International.

Total Scam

I received an order confirmation and my credit card was charged. I never got tickets and when I asked at the help center I was told there was no order. Total fraud, better stay away.

Scammers

Scammers - took thousands of pounds for Euro 2024 tickets - leaked my information to 3rd party’s who bombarded me with emails. They then cancelled my order saying they cannot source tickets but still selling on their website at double the price I paid. We are thousands out of pocket as have people travelling from the US for games and now have no tickets and can’t get travel and accommodation costs back - disgusting treatment of customers.
