Quite a bad experience

Quite a bad experience - I don't recommend this company to anyone.

In August 2024, I received offers from 5 companies for kitchen work (wooden plates on walls to be removed, fishbone tiles to be mounted behind countertop, and whole kitchen to be painted).

All companies responded with 4-5 days of working time and similar prices. Stoneks offered the lowest price, and as the recommendations seemed good, I decided to go ahead with them.

They started the work at the beginning of September, and it went so badly that the job was only completed at the end of October.

**Mounting of fishbone tiles:** When the job was done, the tiles were not neatly placed; some tiles were very uneven and bumpy, not looking like a continuation of each other. When I raised this issue, the owner tried to convince me this was how it should look and claimed they were under time pressure. The work took 5 full days, just like any other company had offered, so they didn't finish any earlier. He only accepted the problem when I asked if he would be willing to post photos of these tiles on Stoneks's Instagram. A week later, 2 other contractors from Stoneks visited to inspect and even they admitted the tiles looked like a 6-year-old had placed them. Around 2 weeks later, I had to empty my kitchen again; they worked 2 more days and redid all the tiling. This time the result was good.

**Painting of walls:** There were a bunch of bubbles at the end of their first attempt. The owner again tried to convince me this was normal, saying if we waited 2 weeks, the walls could dry properly and the bubbles might go away. By the time they redid the tiling, they painted the walls again, and there were new bubbles on the walls. The owner concluded that the store where they always buy paint must have given them a faulty batch! It's never Stoneks's fault.

They had to come a third time to repaint, and at least this time they used quality paint and it worked.

The whole job was supposed to take 5 days. They started at the beginning of September. With multiple corrections (including redoing the entire tiling and repainting the walls 3 times), the job was finally completed in mid-October.

So:

1. Be aware that the company tends to use cheap materials. If things don't work, it's never their fault but always blamed on paint shops, etc.
2. The owner will try to convince you to accept poor work, saying "this is how it's supposed to be." Don't accept it.
3. Lastly, I had a very uncomfortable conversation with the owner due to inappropriate language he uses.. The contractor said he would start at 08:00, but around 10:00 there was no contractor at home. When I asked the owner about this, he said "no one will report to you where they are every hour." I was quite shocked. Just because I say "hi, how are you" and am kind, I guess the owner thought he could speak to me however he likes. This is unacceptable.

We use only the best materials in our work and always ensure that we complete our tasks to the highest standard. Unfortunately, we cannot always foresee everything. As we mentioned, we likely received defective paint, and we replaced it immediately.

According to the contract we sent you, the estimated time for completing the work was about four weeks. We tried to complete your project faster because you were expecting guests, which created additional pressure for us. I understand that you don't speak Swedish and may not have read all the terms of the contract, but we always tried to explain everything to you politely and clearly.

Our goal is always to deliver a great final result and ensure our clients are satisfied. In the end, you were happy with the work completed. All details about how we conducted our work are documented in our project protocol. We even performed additional tasks for you free of charge and provided a price adjustment as a gesture of goodwill.

Regarding the tiles, you ordered structured and uneven tiles with no straight edges, which made the work significantly more challenging. However, we gave it our best effort. We even removed and reinstalled the tiles to improve the outcome and offered to call in an expert for evaluation, but you declined this offer.

For us, quality and the end result are paramount. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned. You have made claims here that do not entirely reflect the truth and have left out how we were treated during the project. Nevertheless, we choose to remain polite and are grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to work on your project. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Väldigt oproffsigt företag med usel kommunikation och bristande kundfokus. De stressade oss in i en beställning och visade noll förståelse för våra önskemål som kund.

Vi hade en tydlig överenskommelse om ett helhetsåtagande där de skulle ta bort vår gamla bänkskiva och installera en ny i sten. Det var också avtalat att de, som brukligt, skulle ta bort den gamla skivan innan mätningen så att allt skulle bli korrekt och exakt.

Trots detta beslutade de ensidigt att skicka en mätare innan den gamla bänkskivan tas bort. Som vi varnade för ledde detta till problem: mätningen blev felaktig, och det stämde inte överens med offerten. Bland annat glömde mätaren att ta mått för det 25 cm stenskydd som ingick i offerten. Han bekräftade även att våra skåp inte satt i linje, men kunde inte undersöka detta ordentligt på grund av den kvarvarande gamla bänkskivan. Han medgav att mätningen hade blivit bättre om skivan tagits bort först – precis som vi ursprungligen hade kommit överens om.

När vi sedan valde att avbryta samarbetet på grund av deras misstag, vägrade de att återbetala vår deposition på 2800 SEK. Det mest frustrerande är att de inte vill erkänna sina fel. skyller allt på kunden istället.
Sammanfattningsvis, en mycket dålig upplevelse, och vi är tacksamma att vi beslutade oss för att inte fortsätta.
