Online order arbitrarily cancelled

I placed an order on the website, and everything seemed fine. Three days later, I received email saying the order was cancelled; call them. I did, gave the folks in India all my info, and then they wanted to transfer me and put me on hold for 5 minutes.

I gave up. Let me try to spend my $1000 on a site where they actually want to sell me something.

My account information

My account information, despite not ever buying anything online, cannot easily be deleted; you have to call them/Email them, fill out a Delete Request, & a Do not sell my personal info request. And i cant even make the request because the links you provided are broken. This is inconvenient, meanwhile i'm still getting your emails. This isn't right. Can you please send me valid request to delete my account.

Rude customer service…

I went in to mail a package but needed a print out to do so. I had the label on my phone but did not know how to print it. My previous visit the female clerk printed it for me and was so pleasant and accommodating. This time the male clerk glowered at me and said the clerks aren’t supposed to do this and told me to go to the printers and do it myself.
I’m 75 and don’t know how to do that and I said I know you’re busy but I’ll wait and you can show me.
He was so rude and said he was too busy. I left and went to the manager and explained I didn’t know how to work the computer/printer he was so defensive and condescending that I gave up and left. I was going to purchase a printer/computer laptop but decided against it considering the poor customer service. I went to UPS where they took care of my printed label and package so pleasant and accommodating. I won’t go back to Staples ever to be humiliated by them. It ruined my day but UPS made up for it with their excellent customer care.
Staples on Merivale Rd. Avoid like the plague.!

Hopeless

Container arrived broken. Contacted customer service who gave me an email address. I sent an email with photos over a week ago and no reply.
Now sat waiting for half and hour for customer services.
Don't bother with them. Waste of money and time

Lost a lifetime customer over $99

I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at Staples over the year and I won’t be shopping there again—and I urge others to avoid them at all costs.

I purchased a Canon printer for $99, and after just one month, it stopped working - it wouldn’t power on. When I returned it to the store, I was told by the clerk that “the computer” wouldn’t allow a return because it had been more than two weeks since the purchase. Staples has made it clear to me they do not stand behind the products they sell.

Their return policy is inflexible, and customer loyalty apparently means nothing. They have lost a customer for life over $99.

Staples sold us a $600 Epson color…

Staples sold us a $600 Epson color printer and a 4-year Asurion Extended warranty.
On April 30, after several days of troubleshooting with Epson and Asurion, I was allowed to file claim # 1864453940.
To this date May 23, 2025 we received no follow up from Asurion - No return label, no instructions, nothing just silence.
Each time I go online for updates I get "OOPS you have the wrong claim number or wrong zip code "

Phone calls to Asurion are as frustrating as Staples Customer Service. Is it just me that finds Off shore agents arrogant and Not helpful? So I called Staples Customer Service asking for a phone number to contact corporate. James insisted he would take my complaint. Soon it became clear, his goal was to deflect blame and offer no help. James will not provide a confirmation number for my complaint. My experience leaves me with the impression that NOTHING will result from my complaint. James refused a supervisor because, in his opinion, my concern does not warrant a supervisor. Staples has empowered James to decide if my concern is worthy of any assistance or if I reached the end of the line. James' opinion is more important than keeping customers satisfied. Today, I learned, Staples has No Customer Service - just arrogant offshore agents to waste my time.

I let James know that Staples does not warrant any more business from anyone in my family. A letter to Corporate will follow this review. If Staples new business model is to drive customers away from Staple - they are succeeding.

Went to Staples today to purchase a 10…

Went to Staples today to purchase a 10 ream box of printing paper. Thought the $49.99 price was fair so proceeded to check out.

Apparently I was at the wrong counter so the young man instructed me to go around and so I did, only to see it was a counter directly behind him. Apparently the other side was for Amazon returns.

I must have silently stood there for at least four minutes staring at his back as he intently texted away. Finally he turns to face me and asked, am I ready. Really are you actually asking me am I ready. Keep in mind the store was empty at 4:19 pm on a Sunday and he moments ago instructed me to go around the little make shift divider to where I currently stood waiting to pay and leave.

Anyway, I offered an apology for interrupting his day because I wanted to purchase printing paper and he responded, it’s okay because he was only texting his father. Honestly this made absolutely no sense to me.

After his third failed attempt to scan my one item I repeated the sale price that was posted about 25 feet away on the display stack. In short I requested a manager.

What a waste. In attempting to explain my dissatisfaction three times, because she cut me off three times, I simply got their names and left. What an incredible experience of how to destroy a business.

I’m convinced that there are a significant number of businesses going out of business because the staff they hire, especially their managers, are the primary reason for failing.

In today’s market it truly is the small things that make the big things happen, like staying in business.

Whereas I would prefer brick & mortar to online retailers, my personal view is rapidly changing.

In closing, I would never return or recommend Staples Supply to anyone henceforth.

Ordered an item for "One Hour Pickup'…

Ordered an item for "One Hour Pickup' early in the afternoon, order #9929958088. I didn't receive notification of fulfillment before the store closed that evening. I called at the store at opening time the next day and it STILL wasn't ready. They certainly billed my CC for immediately though.
So a local business had to be shut down for a day because the employees at the Camillus, NY store apparently aren't aware of what a "One Hour Pickup" means.

Horrible customer experience - ordered a filing cabinet from Staples.

Ordered a filing cabinet from Staples last week. Was supposed to be delivered on Monday 4/7. Tracking number said they forgot to put it on the truck Monday, forgot again Tuesday, forgot again Wednesday, forgot again Thursday, and today it was supposedly out for delivery and never arrived (it is after 5:00PM now). I just cancelled the order. They contract with some low budget shipping company called Watco (?) instead of a real shipper like UPS. Total waste of time and money.

To add to the tragic comedy here, the shipper claims the truck broke down at 5:30pm on its way to deliver. You will see this same excuse in other Staples reviews.

I had lost a tracking number that was…

I had lost a tracking number that was several months old. Stephanie not only helped me by finding it, she emailed me my receipt AND called UPS requesting a proof of delivery. She answered the phone on the second ring. I could not believe the level of service in this day and age. Thank you Stephanie!!!

NEVER buy a laptop from Staples!!!

NEVER buy a laptop from Staples!!! They resell returned and dead laptops. We purchased a laptop using Staples Rewards that were expiring. Since we did not need the laptop immediately, we just placed it in our closet. When we needed the laptop, upon opening it, we found a note that stated, "D.O.A. No image, and no image on external display either" (see pictures). When we called, they said the return policy was 14 days, or we could contact HP and claim a one-year warranty. We asked how they could sell a dead-on-arrival laptop. They responded that they didn't know as they didn't open every box. A previous customer must have returned this one, and Staples just resealed the box and resold it. Our mistake was that we didn't open it within 14 days of purchase. We trust that everyone is ethical. We lost $800.

Everything wrong

Everything wrong. Your TSA pre system is broken. Multiple payment requests, store scheduling triple books.
This was twice for me, first and last. Go anywhere else.

Don't ever buy the protection plan

Don't ever, ever buy Staples extended protection plan. Am having the worst experience with Staples Assyrian extended warranty. Their tech personnel deemed my printer was unrepairable and I would be given a full refund...that was on Feb 28th. I returned the printer and they received it (verified by tracking) on March 6. I wondered why I hadn't received a refund and called them on March 10th. Apparently they used an incorrect tracking number that was from the first return label they issued with my return address incorrect. So they had no record of my return. I corrected them on the return label tracking number. Was just told I had to wait until 5 business days to give them time to locate the return package before they can take actin to process my refund. Only they said five business days was next Friday, the 14th. They can't even count! I am not holding my breath on getting my return. What a horrendous experience

Worst customer service EVER

Worst customer service EVER! I waited patiently at the customer service desk while 3 -yes 3 employees, the Manager, a key holder and the CS employee searched for an online order. When they finally found it after several minutes, 8 customers had walked up to check out. It was my turn at the desk to recycle my toner, the CS employee instructed me to get in line behind the paying customers, her words. Really?! I was standing there first! I understand it appeared that I was only there to recycle but I was also there to make a printer purchase and inquire about printing service. Sorry Staples, going to take my business elsewhere, you're not the only game in town and now I understand why the grey vans with blue lettering are taking away your customers as well as the other big office supply store.

Made a order 3 weeks ago and never received my parcel.

When I called- they said there was a issue with delivery but then felt the need to not get in touch with me or to issue me a refund but to keep my order instead?

Telephone customer service could care less

They sent me an email asking me to contact their agents to fix an issue with my order. After 30 minutes of waiting and transfers, the agent condescendingly tells me that I can't place an order online with no explanation. These people have no respect for your time.

Their feedback link doesn't even work? Really disappointed with my experience and it's really ruined a brand I used to love and respect.

I was in Staples store 100-2000

I was in Staples store 100-2000 . I used to go this most of the time very disappointed. Previous times the was tall and didn’t explain to about charges. She changed plain copies ( black and white) over 12 dollars paid she doesn’t even have face smile. Today I went to the need take colour pictures. One young tall girl was there. I asked her to help her, other middle aged lady is the Boss anyway I told her she didn’t give good cooperation. I really to get some colour pictures. How ever both of them attacking me. Very disrespect screaming to shouting to look like a I came to steal anything. They told if I don’t go out of the store they will throw me me out anyway I told police, then I explain to them for what you’re screaming me. My way one of the young guy asked me to help he talked me. I told him what had happened. These of them are needed to learn how to deal customers speak kindly and respectful each other also shouting I am wondering how do they work this place like please be kind to customers I didn’t come to get free work. Both of them disgusting.

I had a terrible experience with one of…

I had a terrible experience with one of your employees on Saturday, January 25, 2025, around 9 AM. She was a bigger Caucasian woman at the front desk, and her behavior was horrendous and purposely deceitful.

A man with a lot of items to return kindly asked her to assist me first since I only had a quick Amazon return that would’ve taken less than a minute. Another Black woman behind me also had just one item. Instead of being customer-friendly and accommodating his request, she outright refused and made us both wait unnecessarily. This lack of consideration and unprofessionalism was frustrating and unacceptable.

As I walked out, she even gave me a nasty look, which only confirmed her poor attitude. On top of that, her personal hygiene was extremely off-putting. Working in customer service means practicing good hygiene, and no customer should have to endure a burning nose while waiting for assistance.

This employee clearly doesn’t represent good customer service values, and her behavior reflects poorly on your company. I would not recommend visiting this location until management addresses this issue.
