Lousy Tech Support

I noticed that my website was not displaying properly nor was my SSL working. After speaking with my hosting provider the SSL was tracked back to Stackpath. Things happen, I get it but then when I needed tech support most I find that all I could get was email support. I've got a website down and I have to wait hours or more for a response? No way. When I finally got a response it was TS sending me knowledge base files and contradictory information that was making things worse. I was frustrated. Their support is abrupt as if they just don't want to be doing their jobs. How can you have customer facing people without any patience that treat people like they're stupid?

I finally decided to wipe everything out and start from scratch. I got halfway through the setup process and then scratched my head wondering why I was putting up with lousy customer service. I'll just go somewhere else and that's what I'm going to do. I cancelled my subscription and I'm moving on.

If you are not an enterprise customer with $$$ to spend on tech support then stay away.

The worst customer support you can get , after asking the refund no one answers anymore, once you activate the DNS service is showing you can use ipv6 and of course you can't because they don't have ipv6, asked for refund and not a single answer for weeks, useless service ...

AVOID!!!

Avoid. Their DNS switch over wiped my full site of all the hard work my developers did and has cost me a fortune to get it back!!!

Do not use them. I’d leave their services ASAP if you are using them. The support will tell you that your website is fine even when it’s 100% not

Worse support sevice and scammers.

To be very ownest it has been more than 10 days since I paid and still, they didn't activate my server. I have been for years with them, but still worse support ever I saw. Opened a support ticket and even the chat guys tell will be solved soon, but it impact my work, and have to face a big loss because of it. One of the worst support services ever I came across. kind of scammer setting there.

Stackpath is not good for large companies

I have been a customer for two years at Stackpath.
I can only recommend them if you are relatively small and need API protection.

Once you are bigger and may expect some attacks, with a somewhat large user base and revenue on the line, I recommend moving away from them ASAP and moving to something like Cloudflare enterprise.

Cloudflare enterprise may be way more expensive (x5 and up), but you at least have three ways to reach them properly in case of emergencies compared to the Stackpath chat, where with luck, you get someone with a little higher tier of support. Stackpath also had phone support, but the last time we called them, they either didn't pick up or weren't understandable.

At Stackpath, you can expect to wait hours before you get a proper reply, if at all, whenever there is an issue. They don't seem to care or realize the impact they can have on businesses if their services don't function as intended.

With the most recent issue, our dashboard got attacked. For some reason, Stackpath has their edge scripts in front of their WAF, both of which we used. As a result, Stackpath had to disable our website two days in a row because their infrastructure couldn't handle it.

They were kind enough to tell me their SLA would provide me with a $7 credit, but after internal negotiation with their support VP, they got approval for a $100 credit. Our payment that month was $3600, all because their scripts are in front of their WAF, and their scripts are usage-based. For reference, on an average month, we paid $700. That's to say, $100 is far from enough.

I can't even begin to mention to you what it costs us in lost revenue beyond their payment.

After moving to Cloudflare, we not only have better protection, but we also increased our website speed by 30-50% across the board. All within one week.

TLDR; If you are big and have a lot of revenue on the line, move away from Stackpath; otherwise, they are fine.

Pretty bad CDN

Pretty bad CDN. Sure, the speeds are fast, but they've cut down the CDN options. The WAF provided also messed up my website, not allowing people to post, and often returned 5XX errors. Before you were able to have an option to get a CDN with fewer locations for cheaper, but now you can't.

Thieves who plunder your bank account without warning

I didn't have a problem with StackPath's service, until I decided to change the method of payment for their subscription. When I entered the new card information, they immediately stole $100 out of my account without warning and without notifying me afterwards. I only found out when I checked my bank and found the money missing and an unauthorized transaction from StackPath.

I checked my billing profile on StackPath and there was no record of the theft or the reason they stole my money. I contacted their chat support to find out why they stole funds from my account and was met with arrogance. "We always do this to verify people's accounts" was the excuse. Funny how they didn't do it when I first signed up with them. Funny how there was no message on the payment method screen to warn customers that their accounts would be cleaned out if they changed payment methods.

They have no right to steal a large sum of money from people's credit card or bank accounts without their knowledge and I told them that this is pure theft and they should be charged or sued. I told them that legitimate companies verifying customer accounts tell their customers before taking funds from them, only take a token amount of money, and that they issue receipts for payments and keep a record under the customer's account. This fell on deaf ears.

Then I asked him how long it would take to get my $100 back. I was informed that it was up to my bank and that if the return was delayed it was my bank's fault! So after telling him what I thought of them blaming my bank for StackPath's theft, I told him that the moment I get my stolen funds back I'll be cancelling my subscription for good so they won't be able to steal anything else from me.

Account Deletion Impossible

StackPath has no button for deleting your account, in fact the official way to do that is to contact their customer support. After about half an hour of respectful but pointless messages back and forth the employee finally opened a ticket for the deletion of my account and all of my private data. that was two days ago. I can still login and they still have my private data.

All things considered, I find this company to be an insult to any European citizen who prefers to be in charge of their private data.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I was emailed by their support department around 12pm EST saying that one of the domains I had on their service was identified as phishing. I was informed that I had 4 hours from the timestamp of that email to reply with my proposed solution or my service would be terminated.

Fair enough they have standards they need to keep their customers to.

The solution would have been easy. I would have logged in, removed the domain from their service, fixed the issue, and then re-added? Simple enough right? Wrong.

Thirty minutes later I get an email saying my account has been terminated. I emailed back and forth begging them to just remove the one domain which had gotten hacked. Instead, they disabled the whole account taking my and my clients' websites down.

I begged for them to just turn it back on long enough for me to get the DNS records. They wouldn't even do that. I had to quickly scramble to change the nameservers for all my clients because StackPath would not abide by their own terms.

I referenced the email where they said I had 4 hours to fix the issue and they totally ignored it. Their customer support is some of the worst I have ever seen - and I am a Comcast customer.

Do yourself a favor - avoid this company at all costs. They are untrustworthy at best and there are plenty of better solutions out there. I am going to make sure that I tell everyone in my industry not to trust this company.
