From A to Z everything was planned perfectly!

Marissa gave us suggestions, answered my questions and came up with a fantastic itinerary with the best tourguide ever, Katty Celeri.

Overall organization and management of details was great--Thankyou.

We did this hike back in 2018 and had a great time, wanted to repeat the experience with my now 14 year old son and it went great.

Southern Explorations obviously asked the right questions and listened to our requests. We received just the right amount of local guidance and accommodation with the perfect level of comfort (not budget, not luxury for us).

Southern Explorations were absolutely amazing!

We organized our tour of Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca (plus some additional transfers) through them from Australia. Communicaton was seamless and without delay, notwithstanding the time difference.

The tour itself ran like clockwork. Everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there and all our guides and drivers were lovely.

Recommendations for accommodation were great. Titilaka was divine (a wonderful recommendation by Kaitlyn), as was the Hacienda Urubamba, where we wished we could have had another night!!

The real highlight of the trip though, was our guide Jose Luis. He was just incredible and I have to say that our trip would not have been the same without him. His people skills, his ability to interact and his knowledge just blew us out of the water. His ability to keep six, sixty plus year olds clambering up the terraces at Machu Picchu under control was commendable! We have a standard joke amongst us that one of our party members always asks the weirdest questions. Jose Luis was even able to keep up with him! I would recommend Jose Luis to anyone and he is a magnificent asset to Southern Explorations by his association with their business.

We were dealing with Kaitlyn in the booking phase and her knowledge and recommendations were just so appropriate to our needs and specifications. With her assistance we were able to tailor a tour that was truly memorable.

Kaitlyn and the Southern Explorations Team made the whole experience a true trip of a lifetime and we cannot thank them enough.

First let me say that Marissa and Kaitlyn were most helpful as we were reviewing exactly what kind of trip we were wanting to take and were always responsive to my many questions.

Once we embarked on our trip it was great that we had Adrian our tour guide to pick us at the airport and was with us every step of the way while we were in Ecuador. (This was huge whereas we have been stranded at the airport before and no one picked us up for our hotel transfer). Adrian was very friendly, personable, attentive and punctual. It was a pleasure meeting him and we enjoyed our day tour to the equator and the museum there, while in Quito.

For our trip to the Galapagos, Adrian left us with Tony another guide at the airport, who took our bags, got our plane tickets and got us through all the airport red tape.

Once in Galapagos the crew of the Calipso were all just fantastic. The accommodations and food were both great. The nature guide Marcos was exceptional as well and we enjoyed the hikes with him viewing the wildlife on the islands as well as the snorkeling trips. Note, that I'm very apprehensive when it comes to water activities and Marcos was very attentive to make sure I was comfortable in the water. The trip to the post office at Post Office Bay, Floreana was really cool and we received on of our post cards in the mail last week that we had "mailed" there.

This was a bucket list trip and everyone made sure that the trip was exceptional.

Our trip to the Galapagos Islands was amazing! Southern Explorations handled every detail. Our guide was amazing; she was friendly, organized and knowledgeable. She made sure that we had an incredible time. We did not have to worry about a thing.

Highly recommend Southern Explorations. Our 17-day trip through the Sacred Valley, Peru; the Amazon, Peru; and the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador was flawless. The guides were so knowledgeable. I cannot say enough about Milagros, our guide in the Sacred Valley. We had amazing, one-on-one time with her. She tailored everything to our taste. The Alya, our boat in the Galapagos, was beautiful. From arrival through departure everything went smoothly. Trip and accommodations met expectations.

Southern Explorations planned an amazing trip. They really think of everything including arranging hotel rooms for our lengthy layover between flights so we could rest and relax before our red-eye back home. All other accommodations were also really great. They were vey responsive to any questions or concerns both before and during the trip

Marisa at Southern Explorations gave wonderful guidance to plan our Galapagos vacation. My wife and I are experienced travelers; however, traveling through Ecuador and aligned with the National Park operators definitely required proven experience! The Tip Top V crew was professional and welcoming, and our Park Guide, Nancy, was quite expert. We also benefitted from calm seas, perfect temperatures, and all flights “on-time”. Arriving a day in advance to enjoy Quito (and have a 24 hr buffer in case of delays) was great advice and our Quito hotel stay and old city tour very worthwhile. I did not appreciate Quito is 9,000’ elevation! Marisa and Southern Explorations arranged all the “pre” and “post” Galapagos stays and logistics and the on-site service for all was top notch. If you are in the mood to visit the Galapagos, certainly we give Marisa/Southern Explorations and Tip Top our highest recommendation.

Marissa listened to us and planned our itinerary accordingly. After sharing an initial draft, she tweaked it a bit to make it perfect. Our trip was chalk-full of interesting and unique experiences, which is exactly how we like to travel. The excursions were wonderful, as were the guides, and we'd happily contact Southern Explorations again in the near future!

The guides we were lucky enough to get were Antonio and Darwin, they made the trip so enjoyable. They are extremely outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable. We did white water rafting, steel ladders and zip lining, climb the Inca trail, Machu Picchu and a full day of community service at two local schools. It was beautiful and amazing. We traveled with 8 teenaged boys.

Southern Explorations (SA) customized our itinerary to meet all of our interests and their downloadable portal was a great reference tool throughout the trip. The transfers, accommodations, guides, and excursions were excellent and the guides went out of their way to make sure we had the experience we were wanting. This was our second trip with SA and we'll gladly use them again if our travel plans take us back to South America and we've also referred them to others.

I just finished my sixth trip with Southern Explorations, and looking at possibilities for trip number seven. Always an amazing experience!

Marissa was awesome. She was so patient with our many questions and many changes to the itinerary. She made great suggestions and the trip worked out flawlessly. And we were thrilled with the guides and excursions that she set up for us. Cannot say enough good things! AWESOME!!!!
