This site is clearly a scam, designed to part unsuspecting people with their hard earned cash. Sure they may have something in their T&Cs....but that is disingenuous at best....as small print is very easy to miss.

Rule of thumb is....NEVER BUY A MANUAL. Most decent manufacturers will provide manuals for free. Most manufacturers have support forums.

Avoid sites like this like the plague

Scammers

I put in details online for a manual for an appliance. They said it was in my account for £1.49. I n logged in to my account but there is nothing there. I contacted the company and they said 'we need information about the appliance you are looking for a manual for' - which of course they had already had. Three days later I then noticed a transaction on my debit card for a fee of £24.99 which the bank correctly flagged as fraud and stopped. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

The £1.49 manual is a scam. -- do not trade with this company

As with all the other review this company are a scam
you pay for a simple manual for an appliance.....this is a trojan horse ...they then use your bank details to sign you up for a MONTHLY subscription for £24.90 .....
BEWARE this is a SCAM

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. I had to get my bank involved to get a refund after they took £24.90 for a monthly subscription I did not sign up too. When I told them I had raised it with my bank they offered a refund but only if I stopped my claim with the bank and sent them proof I'd done it !!!!!! Err no, you refund me then I'll stop it .... they didn't but luckily my bank sorted it.

Second Manual company is a scam

This company is a scam. Like all the other comments about it I applied for a specific manual that initially they said they had and I paid £1.49. I never received the manual and then they charged me a further £24.90.They have refused to refund me. Do not use this company it is a scam

I called them and the lady said I had signed for a subscription every month and I should read what I was signing for. I told her they were nothing but scammers and she said unbelievably please do not be nasty about our company

Fraudulent site

Fraudulent site, stay well away. Asking £1:49 for a manual gives them access to your bank details. Then to enrole you, without permission, for a monthly fee of almost £30 shows exactly what they are up to. Luckily, my bank queried this transaction and put a block on it.

Secondmanual =SCAMMERS😢🤬

I bought a brand new HP printer that had no proper. Guide to it. So I went online and found these fraudsters. I paid the stated charge of £1.49 and bought the manual. Today to my horror they’re trying to take £29.50 pending on my. Bank account. There was no agreement, knowledge, permission or awareness of this. I am a disabled pensioner and certainly cannot afford this. Even worse in an an earlier review I see that this a trick subscription of £29.90 a MONTH !!!
Please do not use these scammers as you’ll loose money. I’m just going to see what I can do to stop this theft and fraud and make them known all over social media.

Contacted them by phone on the 10th January.
They promised they wouldn’t take the money and would stop the transaction and unsubscribe me from their plan.
Guess what? Yes. They’ve taken the money today. I’m going to contact my bank to see if there’s anything they can do.
It’s also funny that straight after my review they received a tremendous review with 5 stars ???

Very sharp practice ! 💩

I Paid £1.49 to secondmanual.com for a manual and 4 days later I get a text from my bank saying suspicious activity on my account, it turns out these jokers tried to take £24.90 out & it's set up to come out every month ?
When I ordered my manual I didn't agree to any subscriptions, why would I agree to pay £24.90 a month for an item that costs £1.49, that amount would buy me nearly 17 manuals every month, what a joke !
Why aren't trading standards all over these rogue firms and prosecuting them ?
I asked them to cancel it forthwith !

Its a con

Its a con. They charge you £1.49 immediately, confirm purchase and advise manual will be sent. Then when you try and pursue your purchase the website states manual is unavailable. Small print states if you don't cancel within 72 hours, you will be charged £24.90 per month ongoing. Its a complete rip off.

Avoid this trader

They sent me a (digital) manual for my dishwasher but it was unintelligible. It was a mixture of French (I am in the UK), poor English and some gobbledegook. I paid £1.49 for this but, unknown to me at the time of ordering the manual, this was a recurring payment. After receiving the "manual" I read the reviews on this site and contacted my bank who confirmed that this was a recurring payment of approx £24 (the bank told me the amount but I did not make a note of it so can't precisely remember it) and I was able to stop it. I hope also to raise a dispute on the £1.49 but I have to wait for that. This 'company', if it is a company is not sending genuine second manuals. I recommend not having anything to do with them.

Stay away from this con!

Like all the other reviews say, it's a huge rip off. Again like others have said we paid £1.49 for a manual that they didn't have but you don't know that until you've paid. We thought ok we've lost £1.49 then a few days later noticed £24.90 subscription charges that we didn't agree too!

Please AVOID this company like the plague.

On 23rd Dec. I purchased a manual for £1.49 using the secondmanual site. Although told the manual was available and ready to download nothing happened until several hours later by which time I thought something had gone wrong and had managed to find another manual online free. I wasn't going to get too annoyed at wasting £1.49. Coming back from a Xmas break I noticed secondmanual had taken £24.90 from my bank yesterday, Boxing Day. I rang them immediately to complain and the agent was far from helpful or friendly. I'm usually so careful when ordering online but definitely didn't see anything on their site suggesting that a monthly subscription would be taken. It might not be an illegal method of selling but it's definitely a very well thought out method to trick or scam. Please AVOID this company like the plague.

Update. Following the secondmanual reply to this review a few days ago I contacted them as suggested and have received a refund which is already safely in my bank. I've checked their homepage and it appears that they've also started to display their T&Cs clearly. One can only guess what has prompted this attempt at damage limitation but if it prevents any other person being hoodwinked I for one will be more than pleased.

Avoid like the plague! I didn't even see the obscure subscription charge of £24.90 that others have reported, having paid the £1.49 for the manual download. Note also that they only let you know the manual isn't available - after you've paid for it! Another example of underhand business method where the customer comes last. One star is too much but I couldn't see how to give zero. So that's me down £26+ - lesson learnt.

I note that these reviews are meant to help businesses improve, but I'm pretty confident this (and others) will fall on deaf ears. Unsubscribed!

Do not use - a rip off!

Buried deep in the top page of the website is the '72 hours or we charge you £24.90 condition'. No mention of it in any of the following emails, all of which only talk about £1.49 for the manual, with no mention of the 72 hours condition. I have cancelled the subscription, and feel totally ripped off.
