Simon was recommended by a friend and I would certainly recommend him myself. He is very informative and on the day of the survey he phoned me and I also received the thorough survey by email the same day.
The survey was easy to understand and helpful.
Simon also followed up with an email in case there was anything I needed to discuss.

My survey seemed very comprehensive and where I asked for certain things they were looked at. Simon was great and very approachable. I emailed him with a question relating to the property and he was happy to provide the info.

This is the second time I have used Simon's services. I can highly recommend them. The first time I used him, he saved me thousands of £'s on the house I looked at as it had lots of problems with it. So I did not purchase it.
This time round, again he did a very in-depth survey which was well written, concise and to the point.

We’re in the process of selling our house and downsizing. Simon Dowse of Searchlight Surveyors carried out a Level 2 survey of our house for our Buyers. He did such a thorough job, we employed him to carry out a similar survey of the property we are buying. He is knowledgeable, efficient and took great pains to explain the results to us. We also thought his fee was value for money.

Simon was incredible. The detail in his report was above and beyond what I expected (very detailed comments with accompanying images), and his expertise in knowing what survey I would need and how to ask for certain things from my solicitors after the survey were also greatly appreciated.
The next time I move (hopefully not soon!) I will definitely be using his service again.

Simon provided a professional and friendly service with the detailed report being provided the next day. He was readily available for a follow up chat regarding a few specific issues I wanted looked at in a bit more detail and spent longer inspecting the property than other surveyors for a level 2 survey. He also provided some useful advise on how to choose between a level 2 and level 3 survey. Would highly recommend.

Simon was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. When we were originally getting quotes, he took the time to explain exactly what we needed and was honest from the outset about the level of survey required, rather than trying to squeeze more money out of us like some other prospective surveyors.

The survey itself was incredibly thorough, and Simon even took the time to call afterwards and talk us through everything in detail. We received the report the very same day, which was unheard of compared to other surveyors who estimated a 1–2 week turnaround.

Simon was proactive with personal and relevant contact, not the routine generic "book now for a reduced fee" emails that the other surveyors I approached were sending daily. His fee was very reasonable, he booked the survey promptly, reported verbally by phone the same day and sent his report more quickly than promised. His report was extensive and easy to understand. I recently used Searchlight Surveyors to complete a level 2 survey on a house I had agreed to purchase. Survey was completed by Simon and the report was detailed with issues found, accompanying photos and suggestions to resolve. This report was crucial for making my decision to continue with the purchase and ensured I could negotiate with the sellers to get any serious concerns resolved. Simon gave great contact throughout and was available when I needed him to complete the survey. He called me on the day he completed the survey and gave me a rundown of what he found before sending the survey report the next day. Great service all round from Simon and the team!

I was a bit sceptical about getting a survey done, I was unsure on parting with that much money for something that may not be much use overall. But Simons attention to detail stood out from all the other quotes. He was informative and helpful throughout the whole process.
Once the survey was complete, Simon still helped us with a insulation roof issue and even went to the manufacturer to fully understand how it should be installed so we relay this back to our vendor. We are still in this process, but it has been invaluable so far.

Simon is very calm and listens to every concerns very carefully, provides support whenever needed. Always made himself available on call and responded to every email with all details requested. Not only that, after the survey is done, he is always available to answer any queries you might have.
