Detailed survey and very helpful follow-up
Very good experience with Camsure Homes. Harry J. carried out a Level 3 survey for us and the report was detailed, clear, and genuinely useful.
What stood out was that when we later sent follow-up questions, he replied with practical, specific answers that helped us understand the real risks in the property, rather than just repeating generic points from the report.
He was balanced, professional, and easy to deal with throughout. I would gladly use him again.

I wouldn't recommend.
Edit: I appreciate the reply. My issue with it is that I don't think it represents good value compared to other surveys I've had. The kitchen was given a positive rating of 1, cabinet interiors weren't inspected (as the vendor wasn't present despite not living there), so you missed the fact that the cabinet under the sink was rotten with mold, and others were severely damaged. The top of the cabinets near the ceiling were covered in a thick layer of grease, a fire hazard, I know this wasn't inspected as the carbon monoxide monitor was on top of the cabinets, and the report listed none present in the property. The oven was also in a terrible state visually, another thing not inspected because it's outside the scope for some reason. I appreciate there was a gap between the survey and moving in, but no one had been living there. I've given 3 stars as I don't think it was a complete waste but I expected more for £565, and I only came to see what a waste it was soon after moving in.
Original review: I purchased a property through Yopa last year and finally completed early this year. I had my survey through Camsure, who I'm pretty sure were referred to me by Yopa. I wish I'd seen this as the potential conflict of interest that it is, as Yopa obviously wouldn't refer a company whose honest surveys could make them lose sales.
I've been using the survey as a reference point for completing repairs to the property, which I also did with a previous property (using a survey conducted by a different, arguably better company), but one thing that strikes me is how little effort Camsure seem to have put into this survey compared to ones I've had done by different companies.
Several categories boil down to "We aren't qualified to inspect this so you should seek the advice of a professional" or "This couldn't be inspected as furniture was in the way". The property was near enough empty and the vendor knew it was happening. As a result, it seems they missed a fair few things which have then cost me time and extra money. Nothing of the like can be found in the other survey I mentioned, which was done on an older 60s build with a similar price paid (for the survey).
It's not an unusual property by any stretch as it's an end terrace built after 2000.

Camsure Homes is independent and has no obligation to Yopa or any other selling agent. Our surveyors are RICS regulated professionals and are bound by strict Rules of Conduct. We do not under report findings to facilitate a sale, and our duty is always to our instructing client. This position was confirmed within the report, which states no conflict of interest was identified.
In this instance, the survey report was detailed and comprehensive, running to 74 pages and supported by photos, condition ratings and clear recommendations. A number of issues were identified, including several Condition Rating 3 items, particularly relating to services and safety matters. These items were highlighted specifically because services cannot be properly assessed beyond a visual inspection and require testing by appropriately qualified specialists, which is consistent with RICS guidance.
A Level 2 Home Survey is a visual, non‑intrusive inspection. Where parts of a property are concealed, not safely accessible or fall outside the scope of a visual assessment, the surveyor is required to explain this clearly and recommend further investigation. This approach helps ensure clients are aware of potential risks and can make informed decisions, particularly where services are involved.
Surveys reflect the condition visible at the time of inspection and cannot identify hidden defects that may only become apparent during later works. Unfortunately no survey can remove that risk entirely.
We are not aware of any contact being made with us to discuss these concerns since the inspection. Given the time that has passed, some issues may only have become apparent during later works. Our surveyors are always happy to explain findings and limitations, and we would still welcome the opportunity to discuss the report.

Alex was very helpful throughout the survey process. The report was clear, detailed, and easy to understand, and he took the time to explain everything and answer my follow-up questions. I particularly appreciated his availability for a call afterwards, which really helped me make an informed decision. I would definitely recommend his services.

Great company for surveys
I had a great experience using Camsure Homes for my level 3 survey. When booking the survey they asked me if there were any areas I was particularly interested about, then from there they handled everything including booking in a date with the seller. I had a call from Jason the morning of the survey to say he had arrived and just to double check any areas I wanted him to focus on. He then rang me back in the afternoon after he had finished the survey to give me a summary of what he had found in simple terms which made it really easy to understand. I had some questions and Jason was great at answering them. I then received the full report through the next day and Jason said if I had any further questions just to let him know. I wasn't sure around some areas of the report and what it meant for us so I emailed Jason and he replied the same day with a very thorough and helpful explanation. Would highly recommend this company, especially Jason Davies.

Great Experience - Definitely Recommend

We recently used Casmire Home Surveys, with Alex Harling BSc MRICS, Chartered Surveyor, for a Level 3 survey and were genuinely impressed from start to finish.
The whole process was incredibly easy — booking was straightforward, everything was arranged quickly, and communication throughout was clear and professional. Before even attending the property, Alex took the time to speak with us about any concerns we had, which immediately gave us confidence.
On the day, Alex spent hours thoroughly inspecting the property, which really stood out to us — especially as we’d previously experienced a survey elsewhere that lasted only around 40 minutes. It was clear he was being extremely thorough and diligent, and his knowledge and expertise were outstanding throughout.
After the inspection, Alex called us to talk through his findings, which we really valued, and the full report was sent over promptly. The report itself was detailed, clear, and easy to understand, giving us a complete picture of the property and any potential issues.
We were initially unsure whether a Level 3 survey was worth the investment, but this experience completely proved its value. Professional, knowledgeable, and efficient from start to finish — we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Camsure survey - best money ever spent
The surveyor was very professional, friendly and approachable. Prior to the survey being done he contacted us to see if there were any particular concerns that we had about the property. Following the survey he contacted us again and promised the full report within a couple of days. True to his word I received the full report in 2 days. It was very well structured , easy to read and understand. The property we were about to purchase was a grade 2 listed building and on viewing appeared to be in very good condition inside and out. Initially we were just going to have a home buyers survey done but on speaking Camsure who gave us a full run down of the different survey types available (no sales tactics) we decided better to be safe than sorry and opted for a level 3 survey. Best money we have ever spent. The survey revealed many, many issues that if we had just opted for the standard survey would not have been picked up. I gave the survey to a builder who specialises in grade listed buildings and after reading the report said, to bring the property up to legal standard could potentially run into 10’s of thousands. Needless to say we had no alternative than to walk away. Thank you Camsure for your excellent service. As soon as we find another property we will definitely be using you again. Highly recommend.

It was so simple and straight forward to book the appointment. The company let me know as soon as the survey was booked and when it was going to take place. The quote I was given for the survey was excellent, I was very happy with the price.
