After a childhood filled with violin lessons, I took a lengthy break from music during adulthood. However, my passion for music never faded. Once I retired, I decided to rekindle that passion by hiring a guitar teacher and a piano teacher from a local music store. Although they were pleasant instructors, their focus was mostly on younger students. When I discovered the Ridley Academy, it was clear I needed a new approach. The program is designed specifically for adult learners, offering the support and structure I needed. While I came in knowing how to read sheet music, the academy has expanded my understanding and skills tremendously. Stephen, along with my mentor, helped transform me from someone who just tapped melodies on surfaces into an actual piano player. I'm far from being the next Elton John, but thanks to this course and its guidance, I've opened up both my mind and fingers to new possibilities. Now, I can revisit old sheet music from my collection and bring them to life. Carnegie Hall isn’t quite in my sights yet, but maybe next year!

The old.one.i.got.from.a.friend is too old and/or the fact.that.she stored it in.a quanset did not it. It's almost like.a.barn but made of metal. As I.comtinue my lessons.im more and more excited to.get that.new one in here. Between myself and AI, I've already found the.nest dealership to.go.to, learned what to.check on the piano; for.example make sure to press a.key down.and look to.the side of the key to make sure its wood, not.plastic
Any model number in this piano.should have a 4 in the middle of its model number ie.845
He also gave me some terminology to use so I don't.sound like i.habe.no ideas about pianos
Also I.just completed Stephen's session.on.what the piano.parts.are for.and what they are.called
Im ready to.spemd.apptox $3500 for.a piano.and I've learned how to get the sale on.a.set of headphones for.free. im so excited
This is what.Stephens class has done.for me along with what I've learned so.far. This is.high motivation to.get.the older piano.out of her that.can.not even be tuned or.i.guess.he.coild easily break the strings on it

Bc of 7 kids and one awesome mother, we made it thru the basics, like to.grade 12 and there was definitely no money for piano lessons. Now im in a position to buy a new one and learned more than just a few tunes that I learned by ear. I have through the years learned keys and.chords. Just very basic stuff. I.feel great awesome peaceful when I play the piano
I.can hardly wait to get that piano.and get going again on my classes..thanks Stephen so far for what I've learned so far and bc Stephen created the modules in a way anyone can understand them I've learned so much already..see there was a purpose to not.being able to.get lessons paid for. I would have learned useless and confusing information but skipped all that and found Stephen on line...thanks again and again Stephen. Ridley Academy has rekindled my love for messing around with music. The well-structured course takes you through bite-sized chunks of achieveable activites/drills that, when completed, gives a real sense of satisfaction. I'm about halfway way through and loving it all as much as day one.

I love the way Stephen teaches how to play music. It definitely makes it so much easier. I like his style. It makes a lot of sense to me. I feel well equipped to continue to learn on my own. Nothing seems scary.

From a young age, I always wanted to play the piano but never took lessons AND I m happy I didn’t. You see traditional lessons would have been a bust for me. So I learned to play the guitar (not ready for live entertainment) by ear, learning chords, playing for seniors etc.
But still, in the back of my mind was the desire to play the piano. So I took the RIDLEY step and have never regretted doing so. Starting at age 76, I found this program a great fit BECAUSE the plan WORKS. Small steps built upon small steps that work. Just follow the plan!

Step by step teaching from the first. I play piano as my daughter used to play before leaving home and felt that piano needs a companion.
Joined the masterclass and decided to enroll to learn properly. With practice, I am sure that I will play good music with patience & continued practice.

I have tried many Piano lesson programs. But I never have advanced as much as with Ridley's Academy.
I thought it was brilliant to make us learn All the Scales before starting us on Music reading! It certainly got me out of the C scale I had been caught in for years!.

Stephen presents the course material in the piano masterclass in an easily understandable ‘bite size’ format with energy and enthusiasm that makes learning to play the piano fun. I used to play backing (just chords) keyboards in band and doing this course has filled in so many gaps in my knowledge of playing music. Highly recommended!!!

The Ridley Academy masterclass and mentorship program has accelerated my learning of the piano. Stephen believes in all his students to become the artist you no longer have to “wish” to be. Anyone following Ridley methods will be playing the piano, know the history of piano, make your piano sing, and what makes it a beautiful instrument. Stephen genuinely cares for his students. As a beginner piano student, and at the age of 64, I have been very pleased with the amount of knowledge I have acquired through Ridley Academy. I’ve gone through the first three levels in the program, and they were really great. Stephen’s teaching method is clear and concise. He taught me about the piano and how to make the piano a part of my person and not just an object I was trying to play. He taught me to understand it and to develop a relationship with it, all before getting into the octaves, tones, semitones, notes, etc. The joy I have from learning about this instrument cannot be understated. I am looking forward to putting in the work to become a piano player, with the understanding that if I follow the Ridley Academy teaching method, I will have accomplished something that I have wanted for a very long time, which is to play and feel the music of piano. I have a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. Oboe is my instrument. While I am a professional on the oboe, I decided to study piano in Ridley Academy. My keyboard skills were awful. Stephen curated the skills needed to master piano from zero knowledge to performing in front of people in two years or less. It is streamlined, effective, and exciting to learn this rapidly!

Stephen has a logical and fun way of teaching piano. I am currently filling in the gaps that I didn't get from my other teachers.

Everything is well thought out and easy to follow.

I am also in the Mentorship class with a one on one teacher who is also awesome.

As with anything in life, you get what you put into it. If you are serious and self-motivated, you can go as far as you want to with this program.

I took lessons as a youngster years ago and did learn to read music; however, I never really learned how to play properly and how to make a song my own. Ridley academy has given me the tools to succeed.

Learning to play a song has always been a goal, and Stephen taught us in a week, made it accomplishable.
… 1st time hearing of a rift and understanding it (ha ha) and though hearing a continued pattern in music, understanding how it’s played is music to my ears

But a huge joy was when the winner of the piano: Patricia, showed a video of her new piano … we all had a chance to share in her joy … Congrats to her

When I opened the program and looked at the 1st video, what an Astonishing impression it made on me; … the video clarity, professionalism and clear instruction let me know that Stephen and his Team put their HEART & SOUL into making this a true masterpiece - An investment well worth it and I have no REGRETS !!!!!!!!

I am professional on music area (music therapist and musical instrument teacher) but piano is not my main instrument. I have now already been a member in the Masterclass for over a year, and been satisfied. The structure of the course is interesting, well-organized and the main line/target is there for a good reason. Little steps well organized: you can trust the process. When teaching any other instrument, this program is worth to benchmark. At least for me, "the old school music teacher", it has given new perspective and some new ideas. And: it is refreshing and tastes like life personally being a student, again, too. (The first selling videos I saw, for me were too Yankee-stylish, and made me think quite long, whether that is for me or not. Only after I heard Stephen to tell of his own history and more of his attitudes of being a musician and personal human being, I dare to take a risk and put the whole course in to test for me - and found his attitudes and goal to be those that I could sign. And that is the main thing for me, still.)
As a snack, and for the reason to give me extra boost with the keyboards (have been a bit lazy lately with them) I decided to take/look through the course named Easy Piano in 5 days, and it made the trick that I wanted, gave me personally the extra weight when weighting the pros and cons whether to take the Mentorship program now. The 5 days seems to be good kick-start for beginners, the idea of playing and the thrust that everyone can start to play is so clear there. (The only irritating thing for me still was, that it was so clearly the invitation course, and the reason to sell more courses was so overwhelming there - even it is understandable. But now I already can tolerate it better.)
The Mentorship program is expensive, at least in my finances, and I am really thankful that there were a possibility to go through the possible and impossible payment plans. So I could start it now! Much can I not yet say, but the first impression of the mentor chosen for me raises a positive predictability in me. Even the best students and best teachers, it does not always go ok - it is question of trust and personal compatibility. She seems to have patience to check properly where I technically am now, and respects my musical taste. Also, when I now have had lots of technical difficulties in loading videos, have the team in the Academy been really helpful. So: high hopes toward the Mentorship program have I now.

Ridley Academy is worth of 5 stars, then.

I like very much the vibe that stephen has, He makes people to believe in themselves just from the begining and his way of learning the piano gives a lot of enjoyment and fun to his students. Smartly he made a webiner that enables people to enjoy playing beautiful songs on the piano in 5 days even without the need to learn theory. He definitely teaches the piano in an interesting way. I Bought some classes during the webiner and i found them very useful - especially the 20 piano secrets in which you learn to play the chords in a much more beautiful way. I also want to thank Jack from his team who was very kind and helpful when i needed support. Thank you stephen and Jack.

Scale principle is easy to understand. It is like applying a math formula that will bring you at the right answer every time!
