Handling fee
Over the phone they told me that the handling fee for opening a case (in my case it was £50+VAT) it was going to be "waived" to our client, so I won't have to pay it.
I learnt late that the defaulter can choose to pay just the debt or, the debt plus the collector fee.
Obviously, what happen is the first, so I had to pay the fee myself.
Definitively Redwood collectors try to convince you to hire their services by not giving you the full information.

Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs! Their website features a highly confusing form designed to trap clients into agreements quickly. If you're seeking advice only, do not reach out to them under any circumstances. They will initiate legal proceedings without hesitation and are now demanding a 15% + vat fee from clients for essentially doing nothing. Which is a substantial amount in my case.

Redwood collections, STAY WELL CLEAR!!!
Well, I've made the same mistake as the previous 29 on here have. By instructing this "Shoddy outfit" to collect a debt (unpaid wages) which obviously brings it's own hardship similar financial struggles as the other reviewers here & it has now been turned around by "Redwood" & put me further into debt. As with these other reviews I was given plenty in explanation & promises to begin with but this soon turned to "Pay Now!!"
Currently standing on an invoice for nearly £1700 but have seen no return on the outstanding monies.
So the process here now is:
1 - Make a formal email complaint.
2 - Contact the financial ombudsman

Very professional & Informative
We had a call from Redwood asking if any assistance would be needed. Upon having a debt overseas we decided to give them a try, I was given a accounts manager in the name of Jordan, he was extremally informative at all stages of what would be happening. The fees were very fair and explained in full.
