5* Mentoring

I recently completed my Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management with the support of Redway. Throughout my journey, Jenny was my mentor, and our regular online meetings and professional discussions played a key role in helping me achieve this qualification.

Jenny consistently shared relevant, up-to-date case studies that strengthened my assignments and encouraged me to think beyond the obvious. Her guidance challenged me to develop my critical thinking while giving me the confidence to apply my learning in practice.

I can't thank Jenny enough for her kindness, patience, and unwavering support. Whenever I felt unsure about a topic, she took the time to explain things clearly and always made me feel encouraged and capable. Every meeting left me feeling empowered, motivated, and supported.

I would highly recommend Redway to anyone considering a professional qualification, and I am especially grateful to Jenny for making the experience both enjoyable and rewarding.

No need for an in-house HR function

We would like to thank Liz & Lesley for the support and guidance that they have provided over the years; they have been with us right from hiring our first employees back in 2019 through to where we are now with a team of 27 and growing. We have never felt the need for an in-house HR function when they have been able to support us in a professional and timely fashion whenever we have needed.

Genuine help for HR & Performance

I’ve been on a Webinar about having “Powerful Performance Conversations”. This was really useful and Ali’s made it really easy to understand how important it is to have personal conversations with an individual on an on going basis. This was not about just having a series of “performance review” meetings. Rather is is about carefully understanding the individual, their goals and what they enjoy and how you work together to align them to achieving your business goals.
From this - and talking to a Liz before - I would not hesitate to work with Liz on helping us achieve great performance.

Unbelievably bad

I opted for Redway HR's new employer bundle to produce the handbook and contract needed for my first hire. All of the work for this was completed by other members of Liz's team and it was an incredibly poor experience. The first draft of my 'tailored' employee contract was not tailored at all, to the point that it still had the previous client's name in it! At Redway HR's request we had previously had an hour long phone call to gather the information they needed to tailor it, making this all the more frustrating. As a small business owner time is a precious commodity so having it wasted (and paying for the privilege) is very frustrating.

The document was also littered with typos and spelling mistakes. I had to ask 5 times for this to be fixed. Every time I was told it had been, even though that was clearly not the case. I escalated this to Liz and was told Word's spelling and grammar check was wrong(!?), at which point I listed some of the mistakes. I then received an apology and she corrected the document. This wasted so much time and completely destroyed any trust in the quality of the work they have produced. What kind of a professional services company can't even use spell check.

One of the main reasons I selected Redway HR was that they had a recruitment specialist in their team. I had to chase many times to get responses and promised work from this team member. The eventual output (which supposedly took an hour) was a dozen questions which could easily be found within 10 minutes on Google. So definitely don't factor this into your decision making.

I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for an employee handbook or contract that you save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere.

In response to Redway's comments.

It is not true the only delay was caused by a team member being OOO for 2 days. I only found out they were OOO after following up on an email from 3 working days earlier which had received no response. I then received an OOO that they were away until the following week. This was after they had asked to delay preparing the interview questions until I had candidates ready to interview, meaning they made this work far more time sensitive than it needed to be. Not to mention the numerous delays caused by the other issues outlined above.

The spelling errors were all picked up by spell check as they made no grammatical sense. This was after the document had supposedly already been checked 4 times.

As for the direct debit it was the icing on the cake when I was threatened with late fees (7 days after the invoice was due) because you set the direct debit payment up to be collected on Jan 14th (as seen in my online banking) and not December 14th.

I am so sorry you haven't had the positive experience we would expect for our clients. We worked quickly to fix the issues you raised, the only delay was when a team member was on holiday for two days, and once you escalated to Liz she provided the work (which had already been completed, early) the same day. The three spelling errors we didn't spot were not picked up by spell check because they were words in their own right. The final issue you raised with us was that your invoice wasn't collected by direct debit - something outside of our control and related to the way you had set up the mandate. We do strive to provide great service to our clients and are truly sorry you were left feeling dissatisfied. We wish you well for the future.

Redway HR have been an excellent source of support and I was partnered with the expert Lesley who helped me produce my first contract and offer letter for a new joiner.

It’s obvious you could Google a contract and get something together, but Lesley helped me see real value in getting it done properly by experts. I learned quite a few things, she was super helpful and it’s nice to feel now a really serious part of my business is in good hands.

Looking forward to working with her as I get things growing and will inevitably need more help.

I will also inevitably recommend RedwayHR to my clients should they need HR support.
