Stay well away from JBC Skills Training. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a training provider. The staff were rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful whenever support was needed. Basic questions were treated like a burden and the customer service was honestly disgraceful from start to finish.

The company gave the impression that learners only matter while funding is involved. Once enrolled, the level of support dropped massively and it became obvious that genuine learner care was not a priority. Communication was poor, promises were not matched by reality, and the whole experience felt disorganised and unprofessional.

I also found them completely lacking when it came to supporting people with disabilities or additional needs. There was little understanding, no real empathy and very little effort to make learners feel supported or comfortable. Instead of encouragement and guidance, the atmosphere often felt stressful and dismissive.

Another huge red flag is the way negative reviews appear to be appealed or challenged instead of the company accepting criticism and improving its service. Honest feedback should not feel like something a company wants to silence. That alone says a lot....

People thinking of applying should also take time to read all available information carefully, including ofsted inspection reports, before making any decisions. The company’s public image does not reflect the reality I experienced at all. What makes this even worse is knowing that training providers like this can receive government funded support while delivering such a poor experience for learners. Taxpayers would expect public money to go towards quality education, proper learner support and professional standards, but that was not my experience here at all!!!!

I would never recommend JBC Skills Training to anyone and genuinely regret trusting this company in the first place beware!!!!

I had a great learning experience with JBC.

With great lecturers who deliver engaging and stimulating sessions. Combined with practical hands on labs I feel I improved my basic knowledge into a more formal qualification.

The lecturers are approachable, understanding and passionate about their subject.

I recently completed their level 2 IT course, the team was very helpful and would send feedback within a day and were always understanding with needing extra help with disabilities and would check up with mistakes that I made such as forgetting to hand in

I gained distinctions in both the level 2 and level 3 ICT Systems Support Diplomas by City & Guilds with training by JBC which was free via my Job Centre. This gave me valuable foundational and practical knowledge in topics such as computer networking, Windows Server and data security. In addition the careers support involved being shown how to write CV's to be attractive to IT employers and how to send speculative applications to find hidden jobs. All of this gave me the confidence and opportunity to get my first IT support job at a big college in my city.

Fantastic company to gain a qualification with, from the moment I first got in touch with them, right through to the final day of the course. Very professional throughout, all of the tutor's knowledge is exceptional. JBC Skills training is getting my 100% recommendation.

I have just finished the 8 week level 2 IT training and I must say the experience was great I went into it thinking I knew about IT and I was very wrong the training I received was indepth and covered every general aspect of IT you could need for an entry level IT role.

The tutors were very knowledgable and friendly taking time to ensure everyone understood the content and they made sure we all felt we could ask for help no matter the problem. I feel JBC should be very proud of their team of tutors and also the assistants that support the tutors.

Really great experience and thank you for the well organized training. 5 stars. I recommend.

JBC will take care of you throughout your training course / apprenticeship and is always on hand either by email or a call to assist or answer any questions you may have while on course.

The apprenticeship from start to finish was handled with perfection. JBC truly strive to help you succeed. From giving me tips and tricks to help me with the interview all the way to providing non stop support for the final assessments.

If ever I needed help or some advice on how to improve, my mentor was always there when I needed it and I can't thank them enough for the ongoing support. As a result of this, I was able to achieve a Distinction for my IT apprenticeship. If you are reading this wondering if they're worth trying or not, do it! I promise you they will bend over backwards to see that you achieve your goal.

JBC Skills Training gives you the theory and the Practical Experience especially at Level 3.
Each learner needs to dig deep in order to benefit from the theory & the Lab experience.
Most of all the Tutors like Scott MacKenzie and Martin Comben are extremely helpful and willing to go the distance in order to make sure you got what it takes to progress in your career.
I'm extremely thankful to Scott especially for enhancing my grasp of Networking and Cyber Security.
I wish I had enrolled to study ICT City & Guilds with JBC a bit earlier. However, it is never too late to learn.

I recently completed the JBC Skills ICT Level 2 Career Builder Programme and I am really happy with my experience and proud to share that I secured an IT job before the end of the programme.

The course was amazing, covering key IT skills like Hardware, Software, Networking, Business, Cloud, Customer Service and IT System Configurations.

The instructors were knowledgeable, very supportive and made complex units easy to understand. My recruiter, personal tutor/career coach and progressions officer also supported me throughout my learning journey and after the course.

The practical sessions and assignments were incredibly valuable, giving me hands-on-experience which are relevant to the work place.

Thanks to this programme, I feel confident and well-prepared to pursue a career in IT.

Highly recommend to anyone looking to kick start their IT career!

Level 2 IT Career Builder

What can I really say about this course. If you're in any way interested in changing your career path or looking to start out in IT this is a fantastic fundamentals experience that will give you the confidence and support needed. The tutors are all experienced, passionate and empathetic to individuals of all backgrounds and if you put the work in you'll really see a difference in how you look at and approach IT support and it opens you up to starting off knowledgeable in any number of IT roles.

This course is the reason I now work in a role I love, and I owe them paragraphs of gratitude for that pillar of knowledge I now have to do it to the best of my ability.

The training provided by JBC's level 2 IT course is absolutely excellent.
The tutors do a stellar job to keep you engaged, and will take their time to explain anything you didn't understand.

This is an assignment-based course with no exam (as of writing this), and the assignment documents are easy to read, concise, and don't confuse, which I found to be an exceedingly valuable part of my time with JBC.

JBC also offer a level 3, which I did initially get to take after passing level 2, however it proved unnecessary only because I got my first IT in the following months due to this course.

It is to note that if you are going to go through with this course, please ensure you have a quiet working space, a desk, a reasonably mid-range laptop and sizable notepad to follow along with the lectures.

The only complaint I have whatsoever is towards the examiner board in the fact that you will be printing your own certificate when you pass.

All the tutors and assistants are very nice and really cater to how you learn if you ever need the help, they go through it step by step. The course itself is very interesting and they definitely make sure you're set up for whatever career in IT you want to go down, definitely worth going for it.

Fantastic remote training provided. Smooth and easy to sign up. I had Scott, a great instructor who provided great support in helping me successfully complete my NVQ. I had a new job role before completing the course.

Helped me gain the experience and knowledge to progress and push for the career I’ve always wanted and dreamt of. Highly recommended to get you on the correct career path to jump into the IT sector. After my course I got approved and then I gained an apprenticeship (Level 3 IT support) to carry on my growth and learning experience to gain the correct qualifications to push forward in life.
