I do agree it looks like a money grab when framed this way. The reality, as usual, is a bit more nuanced.
The cheaper accounts have random MMR. The games aren't played by professionals, and the performance can be flaky. Yes, some of them will still end up in Silver, the same as the more expensive accounts. On the other hand, some can end up as low as Iron 4.
If you buy them with the intention of getting the highest MMR possible, you might be disappointed. Or you might save a few bucks if you're lucky and still get it.
To sum it up, the behavior you're describing is actually a feature of those accounts. And it's not something we try to hide, in fact it's clearly explained on our website.
