Efficient house move

We needed to book a last move on the last day of the month (a very busy time for moving) and Quick Man and a Van came through! Our mover was Mariya Jegarupan Bernard and he was great! Super efficient and friendly. I turned my back and 50 things has been moved haha. Never stopped working and got the job done very quickly.

Quick Man and Van provided a reliable and stress-free service. The polite and helpful driver ensured everything went smoothly, even accommodating unexpected changes and making the move efficient and straightforward. Booking was easy, and the costs were clear. Would use them again for a future move. Overall, a great experience!

I cancelled 2.5 hours prior due to a…

I cancelled 2.5 hours prior due to a change in circumstances - no refund provided at all, even a partial refund (my advice - don't pay the full amount upfront).

They messed me around last night being passed from driver to driver as they kept cancelling on me, wasting my time as I had to chase them.

When they emailed this morning to ask why I'd cancelled - they explained its their cancellation policy and wouldn't budge. Also wouldn't apologise for the poor service and my time wasted yesterday. Avoid.

This policy is in place to manage the considerable resources we commit to ensuring each reservation is successfully fulfilled with a viable driver.

While we understand the situation was not ideal, especially with the changes in drivers, our team was in full compliance with our operational standards to safeguard your booking. Therefore, we are unable to offer an apology as our actions were in line with providing you the service as promised under the terms agreed upon.

The driver was a superstar

The driver was such a superstar, he was really early in arriving and he didn’t waste any time, packing and loading all my belongings in a fraction of the time. In the end he was done with over an hour still to spare. I was happy with the overall service.

Driver turned up over 1 hour late

Driver turned up over 1 hour late, with no prior warning (10 minutes before the booking started he called me, when I was already at our storage unit). I asked for a refund for the 1 hour I paid of service that I didn't receive and the customer service has been horrendous. They claim because they sent another driver with the original driver it rectified the situation, except I was having to run with my belongings to make my booking slot in the loading bay in my new apartment because the move had to be done in effectively 45 minutes. Second guy was useless, and I did the majority of the lifting and moving myself. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Cheeky and rude customer service. Plenty of other services in London who actually care about their customers.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay in your moving service. Our driver did indeed contact you 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time when he realized he would not be on time. Understanding the importance of your move, we dispatched an additional helper to ensure the move could still be completed within the original timeline despite the delay.

While your booking was for a service from 12:30 to 14:30, and the team arrived an hour late, they managed to complete the job by around 14:15. This was achieved by doubling the manpower to expedite the process, effectively compensating for the lost time and completing the job within your booking window.

Regarding your request for a refund due to the delay, our policy clearly states that delays, while unfortunate, do not qualify for compensation if the job is completed. We believe that by providing an additional helper, we not only met but exceeded the standard service expectation under the circumstances.

Our customer support team aimed to keep you fully informed of your options and our policies during this time. Both our operators and managers handled your inquiries with professionalism and respect, adhering strictly to our policies which were communicated clearly.

We truly care about our customers and strive to provide satisfactory resolutions under challenging circumstances. However, it is also important that expectations on both sides be reasonable. We are committed to learning from every customer interaction to improve our service quality continually.

Thoroughly recommend this company, site was easy to use, lots of choice, follow up prompt & was informed straight away of a change. The driver Danico was on time, efficient, helpful & charming . All together a great service & have already recommended them to someone & will use in future

They made moving feel easy!

Fantastic, they made moving really easy. I messaged to say I was ready early in case they were free to come earlier than booked - they were already waiting outside! Very prompt, friendly and courteous. They took care with all of my stuff and were very efficient and relaxed. I'd definitely use again!

Absolutely terrible service

UPDATE: In response to the management's reply to my initial review below. I called the driver the evening before to ask if I could delay the time by one-hour as I was informed there would be a football match on near my drop off location. The driver told me HE would get in touch with the office and let me know (I wasn't aware of their office hours). I didn't hear back right away so I sent an sms a couple of hours later asking the driver to confirm. His response was "Sorry I won't be able to change time sorry". I responded with ok, thanks, "we will just need to move quickly between 10 and 11". This was in anticipation of avoiding traffic. There was absolutely NO confusion after being told the time could not be changed (I have records of the sms exchange). When I called the office in the morning after the driver didn't turn up, I was already outside with 300kg worth of boxes. And I had to wait for the staff member to get back to me, firstly while she called the original driver, and secondly to arrange a new one -- all of which took around 40 mins, including having to then push all my boxes back inside the building and going back and forth. You should be ashamed of yourselves lying about what happened and trying to protect your driver who failed your company, particularly as management didn't even speak to me directly while all of this was going on. Absolutely terrible customer service. I would strongly advise not to use them- especially after the lies they are telling to cover their backs. Profit before customer service.. not on my watch!

Absolutely terrible service. The driver never showed up and I was left waiting outside for 40 mins, in the cold, with all my boxes. The driver didn't answer my calls or text messages either. The company didn't offer any compensation for the inconvenience and I had to wait an hour and a half for another driver. I do not recommend them at all!

We apologize for the difficulties you experienced with our service. We acknowledge your disappointment and would like to clarify the situation to provide a better understanding.

On the day prior to your scheduled service, you contacted the assigned driver requesting a change in timing. The driver informed you that such changes were not possible without going through our main office and suggested you contact us directly, which unfortunately did not occur. This led to confusion on the part of the driver regarding the schedule.

The next day, after you had been waiting for 15 minutes, you reached out to our office at 10:15 AM. We acted promptly upon receiving your call, diagnosing the issue and arranging a replacement driver by 10:30 AM. We informed you that the new driver was scheduled to arrive between 11:15 and 11:30 AM.

Understanding the inconvenience of waiting, especially in cold weather, we advised that you wait inside the comfortable reception area of Big Yellow Storage rather than outdoors. The decision to stay outside during this waiting period was yours, and while we empathize with the discomfort, we provided the information necessary for you to make a comfortable choice.

Regarding compensation, our policy is designed to keep prices low, reflecting that some delays are beyond our control, typically caused by third parties (you already received a 10% student discount on the initial price). If the rescheduled time was not convenient, we were also prepared to reschedule to a more suitable time or cancel the service at no charge.

We regret any misunderstanding and the poor experience you had. We are continually working to improve our communication and service reliability to prevent such incidents in the future.

Later update:
We would like to remind you that the decision to remove your items from storage in advance was made independently and was not advised by our team. This choice was made to minimize costs on your part. It's important to consider hypothetical scenarios where further unforeseen issues could arise, such as traffic accidents or vehicle breakdowns without the possibility of immediate replacement. As an adult, it is crucial to assess risks and take responsibility for such decisions.

While we understand that the delay was frustrating and did indeed cause you inconvenience, the confusion that arose did have an impact on the day's events, which is a responsibility that we share. However, the decision to wait outside, despite the available indoor waiting options, was yours. The compensation sought would not alter the fact that the choice to wait in the cold was made independently. In the future, we recommend waiting in a comfortable, sheltered area until the service arrives to ensure your safety and comfort.

PS: Take it easy with lying accusations, we have enough proof to backup all we say.

Great moving service for a great price

It was super easy to book - a lot of vans and drivers available, you can choose whichever one you like. I received the confirmation immediately which made me at ease. The price is significantly lower than most other moving companies. The driver was helpful, the van was clean and well kept. The cost breakdown is explained properly and with the confirmation you get the drivers contact details so you can communicate with them on the day as well. Really amazing service especially considering the price.
