what a usuless company, you invest your money but when it comes to trying to take your money out they put every hurdle they can in your way.
they want you to upload your driving licence and utility bill, but the upload only accepts such a low data limit, even low quality PDF's are to large. they when you've done that, they want you to prove you own your bank account, by sending them a statement for which they don't even state where to send it, just don't reply to this email address and to top it all off, they won't take out your money at the exchange rate/date you requested until they've been sent it, for which they haven't even said where to. I'm going to the ombudsman, this is a joke!

Don't EVER go near this company. I have been an annuity customer for 30 years, since 1996. They front-end Fortitude annuities. I was recently made aware of the exorbitant fees being charged (hidden) on my annuity. I was going to do a tax-free exchange to another company. It's a complicated transaction so I'll just say they BOTCHED it, and the other company could not accept a large check due to the regulatory environment of insurance. They REFUSE to reverse the transaction, and are holding up MANY THOUSANDS of dollars. They are being reported to the Department of Financial Services and the NY Attorney General for FRAUD.

Run. lies after lies and won't work with me on my policy

I have not been able to access my account for almost a week. I do not trust Prudential with my $ any longer. I login and get the message when my account is loading.

We're currently experiencing technical issues loading your account. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have this resolved soon. Seems simple enough. They said it was on my end, my computer, my browser, yet I tried from multiple computers, multiple browsers, multiple phones to no avail.

The last "technical" resource told me all they could do is change my password. Taking my $ and running.

This company are withholding thousands off people’s pensions and money something needs to be done.I am now in talks with my MP and solicitors as it seems they may have broken a law .

This has been going on for the past year everytime we have a withdrawal scheduled some how my financial advisor always has an excuse or she gives us the wrong advise and numerous times she has messed something up that kept us from getting our money it has been an on going problem for the past year not only that she has kept us from getting our money's but also giving us every excuse that has kept us financially unstable prudential investments is not ro be trusted there is always something

Prudential Life was going to up my Premiums tenfold on 2 Term Life Policies.
I called to cancel both as I didn’t need them anymore. They said they’d stop the auto pays and that would cancel the Policies. The next Month they collected $2,000 in Premiums and I had to close 2 Bank Accounts and setup 6 other auto pays because of them! They’re liars and I would highly recommend finding other Life Insurance Companies.

Absolutely vintage Pru! Received a letter regarding a retirement benefit from when I worked there 15 plus years ago. Verified my old address and phone number (moved 5 years ago) as well as SSN and nope! We can't help you until we mail you a letter and THEN you call us with the PIN in the lettter! Are you kidding me? In this day and age? Join the 21st Century!

Don’t waste your time with prudential, really bad communication. I filed my claim on 1/22/2026 and just today 4/8/2026 I was told my claim was denied. Typical insurance company the worst. Canceled my membership today

I have been getting a retirement check. From working at Pru securities at 100 Gold st NYC a long time ago MY CHECKS ARE BOUNCING AT MY BANK THEY ARE NOT HONORING. On March 11 i attempted to call them at800-778-4387. Talked to a robot who transferred me somewhere. At that location i was transfered to 800-778-3279. All foreign reps. At that number i was transferred to another ribot who sent a code and would not accept when i repeated the code. SCAM COMPANY. CHECKS SENT ARE NOT BEING HONORED AND U GET PASSED AROUND AND BLOWN OFF BY FOREIGN REPS. DO NOT INVEST UR MONEY HERE

I can rarely access my account online without spending hours on the phone with both Prudential and my agent, who can not seem to do anything on his own without me on the phone. I have not received a 1099-DIV for last year and phone calls tell me there is none on my account, which can not be true. If I could access my account I would be able to see if by some miracle there was no 1099 income. I am looking at moving my accounts elsewhere. I could access the account up until the end of last year but since then, code 418, nada.

Prudential is definitely making paying for insurance payments super difficult! To get their payment info, they will ask me all kinds of confidential info on a 3 way conference all. Nor would they accept credit cards!

I have Nothing but headaches with this company. My Mom passed going on 2 years in December and I lost my sister March of 2025. I filed a death claim for my sister because her portion was to go to remaining siblings. Every time I call them, because I never get anyone to call back, NO ONE seems to know what's going on. It's almost comical. I'm giving up. I can't take dealing with them any longer. Prudential, you should be ashamed of yourself. It makes me sick that this money is my Mom's and they are withholding it.

If I could give zero stars to this company, I would. My mother-in-law invested with them, years ago, naming my husband as her beneficiary. She died in January 2025 and he still hasn’t received the funds. Her financial planner has made numerous phone calls and provided all of the requested documents multiple times. Every time he calls, Prudential requests something else. i.e. Death certificate which was provided in original request for release of funds. First phone call, asking for death certificate which was provided in first request. Second phone call, asking for death certificate which was provided in first request. Then the documents were returned stating they had duplicates. Third phone call, death certificate which they have now received 3x and “returned duplicates”. Etc. now you are getting the picture. We are now up to 6-7 phone calls and have supplied everything they’ve asked for. It’s December 30, 2025 and today we were asked for something else. It’s unbelievably frustrating. His mom has been deceased 11 mos. NEVER INVEST WITH PRUDENTIAL if you want your investment to go to a beneficiary. All calls are answered by someone living in another country (India, Pakistan, who knows where). There is no supervisor available. Apparently no documentation or sharing of information. Biggest mess I’ve ever dealt with.

Most horrible and insensitive customer service ever! I have been trying to request a form for my retirement and they have been feeding me with lies and also extremely rude. There are two people working who call themselves Ryan or mark and they just not helpful. Very frustrating

Won't pay benefits to my Mother. My dad died recently. The phone rep is saying someone else is already getting his benefits. They refuse to let me know who is it or any other information. I have emailed twice to dispute this, but I have gotten no response. I've hired an attorney.

Working for Prudential for many years was a cross between a Dilbert Cartoon and an episode of the Office. I have so many stories from my time in the "Corporate Office" in Newark, NJ. My favorite is the grossly obese executive who was looking for action. She once invited me to her office on a hot summer day wearing only a form fitting unitard that embraced every part of her body. I have never been unable to unsee what I was forced to see that day. But lots of stories ... people coming back to the office drunk after liquid lunches, ridiculous projects that only wasted people's time and accomplished nothing, big egos, constant downsizings every fall and spring, rodents running around the office and nesting in people's desks. I was so happy when I finally left.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My father passed away in September of 2024 it is now April 2025 and they still have been given me the run around about my fathers death benefit. I have to call every week and it's always the same thing, you will get your check by end of next week blah blah blah... then they give you attitude when you call to follow up since they clearly cannot do their jobs correctly!

DO NOT do business with this company! I have been trying to close out a life ins policy for over 3 months! It’s has been processed x4 and expedited x3 with 5 case managers stating “check is in mail”. And still no check policy is only $5000. Due to their refusal to close acct I must now seek legal assist to close acct! There is so much better out there.

Defrauded my father out of his LT Care Insurance. He had paid into it for 25 years, "just in case anything happened". When he developed Dementia, I provided in home caregiving for 4 years, Prudential provided nothing. When his doctors said it's time for him to move into Assisted Living/Memory Care, we called them up. They made me wait on the claim, of course, while I began paying out of pocket to get my father set up in a place he never ever wanted to be. He purchased this insurance, though, knowing that any serious medical issue was a possibility and that the expense could crush his family. Especially later in life, when it came to this type of thing. They dropped him and denied any assistance, after 25 years of letting them take money from him. Why? They stated he had a "pre-existing condition". Guess what that coverage denying pre-existing condition was? Depression. DEPRESSION.

With the help of a lawyer, we were able to get the forms he used to apply decades ago. There were *zero* Mental Health questions on his application, however, my father was meticulous with records in general. We know definitively that Depression was listed on his medical records everywhere, from the VA Post-Vietman war to his newer providers, he had been being treated since the war and he never kept it a secret from anyone. He was also a stickler for the rules, even things they "didn't care" about during the application process, he informed them of. He absolutely informed them of every medical condition he had when he applied, from his pituitary tumor (that is okay), to HPB (that was okay), to PTSD (that was okay), to Depression (was never asked about it, was told they never cared about it when he applied, told you about it anyway and gave Prudential all the documentation, but suddenly it's a PROBLEM).

If you've ever dealt with insurance or worked for a company, you know that full medical records must be sent over when purchasing such a policy. They knew he had Depression. His Depression (and PTSD, which apparently is not the same in their eyes, at least it wasn't the same when it came to this single claim...) were well-documented and had been in his records since he served in the Vietnam War. When pressed by our lawyer, Prudential did supply the forms that my father had applied with, but conveniently "lost" his medical records. Somehow, that was our fault. Somehow, my father's lifelong and never hidden and never lied about struggle with depression ended up making us nearly lose our family home. He was frugal his entire life to make sure that his family was provided for when he was gone, Prudential ensured that not only did they suckle away his earnings for over 25 years but also that his retirement fund was eaten alive and that we nearly lost the family home. Our lawyer ended up not charging us for the many many hours he spent fighting Prudential with us, because the situation was "so common" and "these companies are just that vicious" and because they flaunt and shrug the law and consumer protections every minute - they're pros at screwing you over. Do NOT fall for this scam. That is what Prudential is.

A scam. They will ruin you. You think you are protecting yourself and your family but you are just throwing money at them so they can laugh you into bankruptcy later down the road. DO NOT GET SCAMMED!
