Pimax Dream Air id an absolute dream. I decided on Dream Air SE originally and wanted to change my order, Pimax support easy to deal with invoiced me for the difference. Shipping was quick. Setup was easy out of box. Software worked. Have a beefy PC which probably helped, but wow, iRacing is incrdible on this device. With some small comfort mods on the headset it is so comfortable and easy to wear. So far so good, hope reliability keeps up.

Worse than Chinese quality

I bought a Pimax 8K specifically for watching VR videos, and after only a few months, the cable started having signal problems. So I bought a replacement cable — and now that one has broken too.

But the worst part is that you can't even buy a new cable anymore. Instead of properly supporting their existing products, Pimax keeps releasing new headset models, while older models are basically abandoned. The replacement cable I need is either no longer sold or has been out of stock for a very long time.

Now I have a perfectly usable headset that I simply can't use because of a cable.

€1,400 for a headset that has basically become expensive electronic waste because the manufacturer can't provide a replacement cable.

I will never buy another headset from this company again.

Dream Air Slam Version:
Very good headset that tends to work out of the box with everything I throw at it. Lightweight, no major comfort issues.
The not so cool part of the experience was that the headset took way longer to get released than what Pimax had announced, and the same happens now with some components that were part of my order: New face mask, 3D strap, ringless controllers keep getting delayed. Tbh I don‘t really need any of these as what I got does the job. That’s why I still give 4 stars.
Also I would prefer a home environment more inviting than a black hole :)

TLDR Fantastic product
More information for those that want to know...
Cons:
a) Facial comfort -- The stock facial interface was not good. Quickly replaced with the 3d printed zeeflyboy. Fixed.
b) Headstrap -- tried putting it on and immediately it popped out of the right stem. I managed to get it in but had to push extremely hard to get it to "click". Was worried about the pressure.
c) Initial software impression -- Be prepared to tweak/tune a bit. Coming from the Qwest 3 (which also has it's own issues using Virtual Dekstop) it took a bit of time -- particularly the foveated rendering.

Pros:
a) Visual clarity obviously is great; particularly notice how good night flying is in this (my primary game is DCS).
b) Audio -- better than Q3 in my opinion and mic is good as well.
c) Software -- Even though it has it's quirks it is really an area that Pimax seems to be making big leaps.

Ordering:
a) Headset arrived really quickly -- pleasantly surprised it took 3 weeks from when I ordered and this is coming from overseas.
b) Lenses... did not come quickly -- ordered when i ordered the headset but they were VERY delayed. I'm paranoid and couldn't wait an additional 4 to 5 weeks to get them (which was bizarre to me) so I cancelled those and got ones direct from Hons and it was like two days.

Customer support -- For me it's been very pleasant and they were very responsive (e.g. the lens situation).

If you are looking for the best VR experience in September 2026 -- this is it but be prepared to pay a good price for it.

I've been using the Pimax Dream Air for a while now, and overall I'm really happy with it. The image quality is excellent, the headset is light and comfortable, and the whole experience feels like a big step forward compared to other VR headsets I've used.

What I particularly appreciate is the support from Pimax. I've contacted them when I've had questions or needed help, and they've always been responsive and willing to find a solution. I also like that they actually listen to feedback from users and keep working on improvements rather than considering the product finished once it's shipped.

Headset works perfectly easy to set up and get working in games
They are constantly updating to keep improving the software and experience
Excellent picture quality in the headset
Only complaint is I find the headset heavy

From order until delivery it took only 5 days. Great!
Unfortunately, I order to make the product useable for longer sessions it has to be modified.
Lucky there are great mods available.
I 3D printed adapter for the Apple Vision pro headstraps and face mask interface paired with studio Form face cushion.
Now the headset is how it should have been right from the beginning out off the box.

Purchased a Dream Air (light house version) and had it for a week now. This has been the most amazing evolution in VR in my opinion. Everything is so crisp and clear. Pimax Play/Evo app is very easy and powerful to use. The only issue I have now, is my PC hardware (9950 X3D CPU, 64 Gb RAM, 9070 XT GPU) can't run the headset to it's full potential, but that's another issue non related to the Dream Air, more related to me playing Star Citizen.

Their support and quality was great, no complaints.

I had to work on it to fit right. I got the Apple Vision Pro headstrap and new facial interface. If it had come with those two things I’d give it 5 stars. The part the matters the most, the view and performance (with sboys) is the best there is right now and likely for a bit. Rich in color, lightweight and reliably functional. I have the best computer and motion rig and am having a blast. Haven’t picked up the bsb2E since i got this.

I am loving my dream air slam it number 1 its light I'm used to the OG crystal, the graphics are amazing, as always there's a lot of fiddling to get things right, i fitted Dmas speakers which gives better base, printed a new face plate etc, but that was all enjoyable for me, no regrets purchasing the dream air I would definitely recommend

Very happy with my Dream Air Lighthouse. Comfortable and the image is out of this world. The support have been very helpful when needed. Would buy it again.

le Dreamair est incroyable, j'ai retiré tous mes écrans et je ne suis pas prêt de les remettre
même avec une 4080 super, le casque tourne à merveille avec de bons réglages
le casque coute chére mais il vaut son prix

The Dream Air is exactly what I've been hoping for since getting into the VR realm 10 years ago. Picture is pure, fit is great and it really just feels like I'm wearing a cool pair of goggles. Everything about the experience is top notch.

Purchased the Dream Air. The visual quality truly is out of this world, I am very satisfied with that aspect. But, the interface is simply unsatisfactory. Considering the price of the item, I'm no marketing expert, but I don't believe it's good business or good for Pimax reputation to release a high end product that is not ready within this price range. I knew of that issue from reviewers, so I can't claim a bad surprise, thus the 4 star.

Amazing headset. Great customer support and company communication

My experience with Pimax has been 10/10. My first Pimax product was the Dream Air and when I first got it the headset was not working as intended and the image cut out constantly. I was a little worried about getting it fixed in todays day and age but Pimax support team was more than wonderful on fixing my issues. They were so very helpful and worked on taking care of the problem quickly. Shortly after having the issues Pimax shipped out a replacement to me that worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Amazing product and an even more amazing support team.

I have no experiences with the "old" pimax. But regarding my first experience I would say, they are on good way. I have the great Dream Air headset.. And a very good costumer experience so far..
