I visited my optical people with my 8 year old daughter, what a fabulous experience. Explaining everything throughout to make our daughter feel comfortable.
All the staff were super friendly. The shopping for glasses was,made so easy. Iv recommended to lots of people & including my husband.

After a poor experience at specsavers, though i would try Optical people in Hinckley.
The level of service and expert advise given was exceptional. Would not hesitate to highly recommend and would now not look at going anywhere else.

I made a recent visit with my son 7, he has adhd and struggles to take instructions with distractions around him, But the team were amazing with him, very good communication. We have moved from a well known company and we are pleased with the move! Great work guys. 👌🏼

Never listen to the negatives, some people just like to be negative behind a keyboard!
I Wanted a spare pair of specs due to moving away for a back up pair especially starting a new job soon.

Bakchau and Karen knew what I was looking for, selected a pair of frames after 10mins , took on board what I was looking for in varifocals and coatings, was really pleased with the lenses we selected
Service was as always professional, prompt and friendly
I was moving out of the area to the coast and Optical people posted them to my new address

I will still be going back for all myveye tests and new specs

Used the Hinckley branch for an eye test and some new frames. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great selection of frames and a really good turnaround from order to collection. Can’t fault them at all.

Recently used Optical People in Nuneaton and have to say the service I received throughout the whole process has been absolutely faultless.
They were so patient during the selection and fitting and the follow up to make fine adjustments to my glasses could not have been better.
Thoroughly recommend.

Very professional staff that made my eye test perfect. When I used to have the pre test I would have to go back two or three times as they could not get it correct but I go through first time and my eyes did not water at all. Absolutely loved the cost of having 2 pairs of glasses for the price of one

Went to Optical People with my Specsavers prescription as Specsavers didn’t have any frames I liked. The choice here was amazing and I liked the relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff and manager. My glasses were ready in just over a week but after trying to wear them for a couple of weeks I knew they were very wrong for me. I returned them and was given a repeat eye test by the loveliest optician who really took his time and explained everything to me. I left feeling very confident that my new glasses would be perfect and they were. I wasn’t charged for the test or the remake which was so generous as it was due to specsavers error. I would recommend anyone to go here, I really felt like I received a personal service.

Awful experience of customer service at the Nuneaton branch with the rude & ignorant Manageress, other staff absolutely lovely. The arm fell off my glasses day 2, returned- bent screw, 2 months later arm broke off- returned, waited 3 weeks to be told that they were scrap, 2 weeks later no call to say that frames were obsolete. Need to find a frame for same price & size to refit varifocal lenses, reluctantly one found- same lenses cut down to fit- returned as unable to focus as centre focus point not in line, no refund on frame or lenses ever offered. Pathetic customer service!
£360 glasses in kitchen drawer never worn. Waste of money, I would never recommend Optical People in Nuneaton when this woman is in charge!

I had an sudden issue with my right eye. I was worried and fortunately my yearly test was due. The optician was brilliant and took his time to examine me (including repeating one test I failed) and explain the condition. He organised a NHS telephone consultation who said my condition was not an immediate worry. I relayed this back to be told he was on leave for 2 weeks. Half way through his leave he phoned me to discuss things and is in the process of me seeing a specialist (under the NHS)

I can’t praise him enough. Eyes are important. If I have to go against my beliefs and go private I will do so.

I would like to say a big thank you to The Optical People for giving me back my quality of life. Before I had the Punctal Plugs and IRPL treatment my life was pretty miserable living with severe dry eyes. No matter how many drops of dry eye drops I used it gave me no relief. Really impacted my enjoyment and quality of life. My usual high street Optician recommended The Optical People to me as he could not help me other than providing dry eye drops. So, I made my appointment and I'm so glad I did! The service is excellent with state-of-the-art equipment and lovely staff. I was told that my eyes were very sad. What tears I did have were poor quality and my eyes were sticking to my eyeballs causing lesions. My oil glands were also blocked. So, I discussed my options with the optometrist and I decided to go for the Punctal plugs for the tears and IRPL treatment to help soften my oil glands. I opted for the payment plan which was spread out into manageable monthly payments. Which worked out to be the cost of a coffee every day.

I am also a member of dry eye scheme where my eyes are monitored regularly to ensure they are healthy. And in the price of the scheme I get my glands expressed and have a lovely heat mask before.

Now if I'm home I can go a few days with no eye drops at all. This was unheard of before! In work where there is air-conditioning I do a routine of Hycosan shield morning, midday and when I get home. Heat mask before bed and Hycosan night ointment.

Big thank you to a wonderful company who have your best interest at heart.

My Mum ordered some glasses and they have never been right. She’s been back over and over but she’s never been able to see out of them. She’s 81 and they have taken advantage of her refusing to give her her money back. This company is despicable don’t go near them!!!!

From the start the staff knew how to greet people. Rob is the person who welcomed me as I went into the store and who undertook the preliminary tests. He was friendly and professional. The appointment with the optician was thorough.

Booked my daughter in for an eye test at the Hinckley branch following a terrible experience at a high street chain a few weeks earlier. I wish we had come here in the first place, it was a fantastic experience. All of the team were welcoming and friendly, special mention to Rob who made it very entertaining for my daughter, even though she was very nervous after her previous experience. The optometrist was very thorough and explained everything clearly. We were in the shop a short while as my daughter needed eye drops before a further examination, and we were very looked after. Cat was also great when it came time to choose glasses, being on hand if we needed her but giving us time and space to look together. As a long time glasses wearer myself I have been a number of places over the years, but this is by far the best I’ve experienced and will be moving to optical people when my next eye test is due.

Rob was very professional, friendly and helpful and checked me in. He did my pre-checks very well and put me at ease. Jiten the optician was very friendly and did an excellent eye test. Then Rob helped me to choose my glasses and was very patient with me. All the staff were very approachable and friendly.

Untrustworthy manager Bakchau who shared confidential information with another optician when I went in seeking advice on some frames.
Totally unacceptable behaviour and very unprofessional
After being a loyal customer since they opened purchasing 2 sets of glasses I am very upset that false information was given to the optician that tested my eyes at another practice.
Optical People was absolutely brilliant when the owners brother and sister were there but since they have left the opticians are mainly locums.
I therefore had my eye test at another optician's but went to Optical People to check out their frames.
After visiting Optician People the optician who tested my eyes informed me that I had been disrespectful about him
I was absolutely shocked as he was brilliant carrying out my eyesight test and examination. He also told me who had fed him with this false information.
I was totally shocked as I had spoken very highly of him, however being a small optician he didn't have a large selection of petite frames
This was shocking behaviour of a manager at Optical People to cause conflict between another optician.
I was extremely upset by this matter along with optician who tested my eyes.
Bakchau should know that she should not disclose any confidential information about patients without their consent so she actually broke the "Confidentiality Act" by discussing my problems with the other optician without my consent.
This is a very serious offence and as a manager she should know better.
I was left feeling very hurt and upset at her behaviour especially as she had known me since the shop opened.
I cannot understand her behaviour as it is so shocking to speak to another optician and tell him a bunch of liars.
If this is a manager at Optician People then she's not setting a good example for the rest of the team.
Bakchau needs to learn that causing conflict between opticians is not good practice.
I feel that lessons should be learnt and that Bakchau needs to maintain patient confidentiality at all times and not gossip to other opticians regardless if she knows them.
On this occasions she got CAUGHT out with her dishonesty and it has now resulted in several people being hurt by her liars.

I like to read the bad reviews as well as the good reviews for any company before going there. It is my belief that there are people out there who will write a bad review just for the hell of it. No company wants a bad review and I believe some people just want to be awkward no matter what. I recently visited the Nuneaton store and the service I received was 5*. The first person I saw was Mikey who enquired if I knew what I was looking for. I did, I wanted something in a squarish design and he found several for me to look at and try on. I found a pair that I really liked and they were put aside for me and an appointment was made for me to see the optician in the same week. The optician was amazing. She allowed to to fully take my time going through the different stages of the test and got my prescription absolutely right. I got my new glasses within a week, and I have a high difficult prescription in one eye. I then met Bakchau who took care of the fitting Etc. and she was so attentive, chatty and polite. She was in no hurry, and wanted everything to be perfect for me and it was. I am so delighted to have gone there and I will be going back again next year without hesitation. I hope other people will enjoy reading this review and consider what I have said.
