SCAM!!!

SCAM!!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!
The sales rep, LIES! This company and the employees, also a finance company they deal with are all doing this scam together. There is a government rebate for homeowners who purchase equipment upgrading their homes, which is what they advertised to have people interested. This company does not do a proper audit before and after installing the equipment ( They tell you they did). They tell you they have taken care of the paperwork and your rebate for $7100.00 will come in the next couple weeks. They don’t apply for the rebate, they tell you that their auditor made a mistake and you don’t get the rebate. LIES! Jason did not send me any paperwork which he claimed he would send it all through email. He won’t send it so you cannot read it and understand this is a scam. I had to call customer service to have them send me information about what I had purchased, they sent the information through email for me to print at home, which was too late for me to stop the purchase realizing it’s a scam. Customer service tells you lies to make you feel taken care of in the beginning, then tell you their Auditor made a mistake with the paperwork, which now I am not entitled to the rebate. No Auditor came to my home. They charge you over the top prices for equipment which is part of the scam. Jason told me to cancel my protection plan from another company because I have a whole home protection plan from top to bottom ,with the purchase of their products. Thankfully I did not cancel what I had because this was another LIE! When you call for service from a technician it takes days for them to acknowledge your issue, by the time they come to fix anything it’s too late and more costly damage happens. Jason will LIE and CHEAT you into a huge debt. He tells you a monthly payment which triples in a few months with VAULT PAY, and will bankrupt you. There is no way I should have been approved for a loan from VAULT PAY. I am a single homeowner with one small income. Jason will not return your calls and blocks you from everything so you cannot contact him as soon as he walks out your door. There is no savings on your bills, they go up. It takes forever to get hot water, your water bill goes up. They install their equipment as quick as possible before you can change your mind. This whole company is working together to SCAM people to make their money. They do not have an office to go talk to anyone, it’s all hidden, people working from other areas in their homes etc. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! It’s hard for me to understand how so many people have come together to hurt other people financially. There are many other people this company has scammed in this way, no rebate from the government for upgrading your home, which is definitely offered. Anyone who has dealt with this company please contact me!

After reviewing your file, our records indicate that the rebate was recently settled, and we apologize if this was not communicated clearly at the time. We do not issue government rebates ourselves but, in certain cases, we do cover the rebate amount directly as part of our customer support process.

We also want to clarify that Ontario Smart Energy works alongside many finance companies, including VaultPay, a third-party financing provider. While we facilitate the connection, the financing terms and approval process are handled independently by third party lenders. Before any work begins, every customer completes a recorded Third-Party Verification (TPV) call, where we clearly outline and confirm all details — including the promotional rate, payment structure, and equipment scope. No installation is carried out without this step.

We understand your frustration around communication and service timelines. We’re actively working to improve both, and we sincerely apologize if you experienced delays or confusion.

We take these matters seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to review your file in full and work toward a resolution.

Appreciating Technician Saxon Jurvanen

I wish to commend the efforts of Technician Saxon Jurvanen at addressing some of the persistent problems we were facing with the heat pump. His sense of ownership and patience is truly reassuring for the customers, who feel vexed with the technical complexeties.

I received a phone call and they said I didn't qualify. I'm 77 yrs old and widowed. Would definitely like to receive rebate or credit on my bill. Thankyou.

Beware Not a Smart company

Tyler and Mathew the Energy Advisors give incorrect and misleading information (Lie) .They didn’t even make a file to send to government for rebates. The whole company ignore calls. Beware this company, you can do rebate applications online and choose approved contractors. You don’t need them . I got scammed.

To clarify, Ontario Smart Energy does not issue rebates nor guarantee their approval. Rebates are funded and approved by government programs such as the Enbridge HER+ program, and only certified auditors listed by those programs can submit the necessary documentation. In many cases, we coordinate with those auditors and provide assistance where possible, but final submission and eligibility fall under the program’s jurisdiction.

If your file was not submitted, or if there was any breakdown in communication, we sincerely apologize — and we’d like to review your case further to understand exactly what happened and whether anything can still be done to assist you.

Highly Impressed with Ductless Split Installation!

I had a ductless split system installed by Ontario Smart Energy, and the experience was fantastic! The technicians who handled the installation were top-notch—professional, friendly, and meticulous in their work. They made sure everything was set up perfectly and took the time to explain how the system works.

The installation was quick, clean, and hassle-free. I’m already enjoying the improved comfort in my home. Highly recommend this company and their skilled technicians!

Can't get proper and fast service.

I have called for a service for my heat pump, and it has been three days and I've got no response. I got calls with unname numbers that were blocked on my phone. They are supposed to send me a technician to check the heat pum. However, when I checked my heat pump , it had frozen water around the screen. Used hot water from the tap to melt the ice. I assume that might fix some of the issue. I wouldn't recommendcheat pumps to anyone because of this in canadian weather.

Regarding your heat pump freezing: while heat pumps are designed for Canadian winters, extreme conditions can sometimes cause issues like icing — and we’re glad to hear you were able to safely manage part of the issue on your own before service was completed.

What a head ache

What a head ache. I am a single young girl, and was taken full advantage with this company. They offered me 1500$ bonus for signing on right away, not allowing me think about a deal that has absolutely finically f*cked me in the end. The money was promised to me September of last year, money that I have begged for and not yet received. I have let them know repeatedly I have not received this money, I have yet to see a penny of it. I unfortunately was rushed into my purchase with this awful customer rep who completely lied about what a heat pump was, promising I would not have to pay propane rentals fees or for propane again. He stated that if I didn’t get this service right away I would lose the 1500$. Money that I will most likely never see.

Now I owe about 30k for the heat pump, when I have a brand new ac and furnace. They decided how much money I would pay off per month, depending on how much I would save with “my savings of no longer paying propane rentals fees and propane fees”. I got rid of my propane and propane tanks in return, which caused no heat in my house for days, as yet you do in fact need propane for the unit to work. So why did I get this unit when I had a furnace, because I was miss lead in such an awful way. They left me without heat for 4 days, the service ppl refused to come out, the average temp that week was below freezing and risked the integrity of my house. I had lots of fees from my propane company due to this, Ontario Smart Energy stated they would pay 200$ of the fee of propane removal, but I have yet to see a penny from that also. After sending all invoices from the propane company, indicating hundreds of dollars charged from this incident, the last email I got from Ontario smart energy was just asking for them again. It is not making sense, they are asking for invoices already sent, pretending this situation did not happen. Not taking any responsibility for their actions.

During this inflation era, this company is misleading their clients about bonuses and initiatives they will never receive, leaving customers with mass amounts of debt when furnace is that is really needed. I asked if I can back out of this deal in the end, as they did not follow contract. They will not let me take this unit back. This company is comprising my financial stability, and if I do not receive any compensation or consideration about adjusting my monthly rate and my 1500$ bonus I will be following through with a law suit. This company does not treat the customers properly. What a joke of a government runned program. This company is here to only financially ruin and miss lead customers!

Regarding the $1,500 promotional bonus and propane-related fees, we understand your frustration. Ontario Smart Energy is a huge fraud.
someone from Ontario Smart Energy came to my door, My sister was there so we invited him in so to learn about this system, how it works and how we can save money. He was polite, he spoke about the rebate lots about the rebate and how we could save money. ( we haven't saved any money, if at all we are paying quite a lot more, I will get into that a little later,)
The following day they send 2 guys to install, they stayed all day and into the night, they got done at around 11:30pm. the next day I'm in the basement and noticed how cold it was and there was a draft coming in from the wall, noticed there were 3 holes coming in from the outside. I called the company to complain, they send someone who patched it from the outside with clear silicone which did not fix the problem so I called them again and he fixed outside but not the inside, I paid someone to fix those holes after seeing mice droppings. Disturbing.

The tankless water tank. they took my insolation off the wall and installed the tank on the concrete, I called again to ask them to take it off of the wall and use some wood that I had just to have it off of the wall. To which hey replied it will cost me $500.00. I declined.
Now move forward 1 year later, we noticed something's not right with my bank account, they are now takin more that was discussed and is taking the payments out twice a month. Went to my bank and put stop payments on all the payments coming from this company.
We never go a letter from them informing us about the inters increase. Email them only to meet with no reply until the bank started charging them back. There answer was he called me and he has a recording with my voice saying I agree (this is untrue)

This company is a fraud. They will sell your information to scammers, I'm getting scam calls all day long.
My next step is suing this company..

Incorrectly installed.

Had the system in for over a month now, snow is falling, and we're still waiting for the system to be set up correctly. Installation took until 1:30 in the morning. Technicians did not have correct equipment or knowledge. Borrowed my tools and spent a large amount of the time on the phone with another technician. HVAC friend noted incorrect installation methods and has left me with no faith that these guys can provide the service they sell.
