Love my sofa

David in Branksome branch, Poole, was so helpful, great customer service! I am so pleased with my sofa, quality is fantastic, delivery was so quick and the delivery guys put it into place for me. Highly recommend

Purchased dinning room table and chairs…

Purchased dinning room table and chairs ( Durham fixed table and four chairs). The quality and standard lovely. I Ordered from local store, was advised that I would need to fix the seat pads to the chair, which was fine. No mention of the table, and no information on the website to say assembly needed. On delivery, it materialised that the legs require to be fixed. Just to highlight this inconsistency as reason I purchased was to avoid the need to assemble due to personnel circumstances . 2 person job needed as table heavy.

High pressure sales

Found visiting very stressful as we kept being approached by high pressure sales staff. Told them we’d like to browse but still kept being approached with ‘I’ll leave you alone soon but let me tell you first about … (finance/products)’. We understand that staff have targets, but this was stressful and unpleasant. In the end we snuck out when staff had stopped circling us for a minute, and felt as though we were doing a runner.

problem with item…

we had a problem with our new furniture and this was resolved with an item to be replaced on a set date. The lady who dealt with this matter was extremely helpful kind and understanding

Poor Service

I had paid £50 for enhanced delivery. Furniture got delivered on time on 12 March, but screws were missing, so the delivery team couldn’t put the dresser together. They rang Oakland Furniture and they told me , I had to ring them, so that the screws could be sent to me. I rang Oakland Furniture and after a wait I managed to speak to a friendly advisor, who told me that they would be delivered by courier, so that they would be with me quickly, it would ONLY 3 to 5 days. When I had received the screws, I should ring them to arrange for somebody to put the dresser together. The screws finally arrived by Evri courier between 5pm and 6pm on the following Thursday, 19th March. I rang Oakland Furniture on Friday morning and was told that the repair would be carried out by another company, who would contact me in 1 or 2 days. The company sent me an email on the same day, asking me to post a photo and a description of the job, which I did immediately. I had a message in return that they would contact me within the next few days. When I had heard nothing by Tuesday, 24th March I rang Oak Furnitureland. After a waiting time an Adviser answered and I described my problem. She looked into it and found out, that the company the job had been referred to, were unable to do the job, as only 1 person attends jobs and it takes 2 people to put the dresser together. It needs to be done by their own team. The adviser now wanted to arrange a time on Friday morning 27th March between 7am and 12pm, but I have to pick my grandson up from school at 12:15pm, so they needed to be finished by 12pm. The Advisor said, that she couldn’t promise that and arranged it for Monday, 30th March 7am - 12pm. I now received a text from them to say, that my furniture will be delivered on 30th March and that I will be sent a 3 hour delivery slot the day before. I have an appointment at 3:30pm on Monday 30th March, so I will have to ring them again. Though the furniture looks lovely, I don’t think I want to buy from them again and cannot recommend them.

After speaking quickly with customer…

After speaking quickly with customer service they arranged for a replacement sofa within the next week,which was delivered and as I was expecting.customer service then rang to again apologise and offer a refund of the original delivery charge,which I accepted. Very polite thank you

Terrible Experience

Our sofa delivery day today, but upon arrival the delivery team immediately said there was “no way” it would fit through the front door. No real attempt was made to try and get it inside. Apparently the corner section of the sofa we purchased does not fit through a standard front door.
What’s most frustrating is that we were never informed of this when purchasing the sofa in store. How can a company sell a sofa without warning customers that part of it may not fit through a normal front door?
After we asked them to at least try, the delivery team reluctantly made a brief attempt, but it was clear they didn’t put much effort into it. I believe that with a proper attempt it may well have gone in.
The delivery team eventually left with the sofa. When I called customer service, I was initially told it was our fault and that we would still have to pay the £100 delivery charge, even though the sofa never entered the house. After further complaints, they finally agreed to cancel the order and waive the delivery fee.
Overall, a dreadful experience. We now have no sofa as we had already sold our old one in preparation for the delivery. Very poor service and I would not recommend this company.

Bought a sofa 4years ago .Took out 5yr…

Bought a sofa 4years ago .Took out 5yr protection store wold it as nomatter what including wear n tare flaimed only company to offer this .Every year has had same area fixed each year replacement refused despite says will replaced if not happy with repairs. . This year needed again repaired told wear n tear not covered . Engineer/ technician report despite same area despite covered previous. Engineer on visit had complained sent from North Wales. Told me I was loud . I apologised said was partially deaf . Called a liar took my hearing aids out to show him still called a liar . Was told by oak furniture I had no right to complain and would only have a reply to complaint if considered worthy enough .They continually talked over me and both advisor and Manager told me they were being rude even sent me their recording of calls with this on it. Told me they did not care and were going to continue to be rude as they were going to say there statement no matter what I said . Could never trust them again very upsetting very hurt

Happy Sofas

Clearly there is a huge variation in experiences, but mine was fine.
There was a delay in delivery - 5pm instead of 9am, but that wasn’t really a problem as I was in all day anyway.
Delivery crew assembled the sofas and cleaned away all the packaging.
Sofas (Brunel) appears to be solid with reasonable quality leather.
How they stand up to long term use remains to be seen.

We went to Oak Furniture in Ayr to look…

We went to Oak Furniture in Ayr to look for a recliner. We were approached at the door buy a female assistant. She asked if we needed help and we told her we would just like to have a look round. She continued to follow us and constantly offered help. We were given no chance to look and she insisted we go upstairs. We eventually left the store and will not be back. Most of my furniture is from Oak Furniture and it’s very good quality and I would buy more but this lady was pressurising and very intrusive. It was so disappointing

Disgusting delivery service

Disgusting delivery service. Never been messed around so much by a company. Paid for premium delivery for my bed, which included quicker delivery and assemble of the furniture. The drivers claimed they called me and then said that I was not home. I demanded to see this on their call log which never was shown. I have spent thousands of pounds on two beds yet we still have not even one delivered.

Still waiting on my delivery. Night 3 of sleeping on the floor.

Do not use this company they are awful.

Chair priced incorrectly

Found a chair I liked, and at a reduced price - perfect. Got told not to order it online as it puts people out of business…?? Ok then - no need, but no probs. Then got told the price on the ticket was wrong, it wasn’t reduced and was actually £150 more. I said I wouldn’t be buying it then and started to walk out of the store. The manager then gave me a mouthful about there being over 2000 products and he can’t be expected to check all prices! I hadn’t even kicked up a fuss about it, so not sure why I had done to be spoken to like that! Not feeling inclined to go back!

Experience in the store was good. That’s it

Experience in the store was good. Order taken and all set for delivery.
A week later I was told they could longer make the delivery date. No problem, I rearranged plans and got sorted.
Day of delivery - apparently you get a phone call 30 mins before. “Hi mate, we are 6 mins away according to the sat nav. I was in, so not an issue.
Then the two guys turned up at the door. “Have you ordered a wardrobe mate.”
“Yes I have.”
“Where’s it going”
“Upstairs, the bedroom on the left”
“Those stairs”
I’m not sure if he saw the incredulity on my face.
“Not sure we’ll get them up there.”
Just a complete lack of can do attitude. I just got a lot of, we can’t do this,we can’t do that. Health and safety. Etc. etc.
Anyway, in short. It got left at the bottom of the stairs and me and the wife did it ourselves.

New sofa and unit delivery today

New sofa and unit delivery today, unfortunately the sofa that was meant to be a corner sofa was just 2 left arm units, spoke to customer services who couldn’t care less and was trying to push us to keep the sofa and wait the 6 weeks for another one, according to the drivers this happens all the times, no quality control, no checking the delivery, just straight from the manufacturers to the customer, couldn’t care less whether it’s right or not, also to boot the delivery was late and secondly the drivers managed to damage my hallway bringing the sofa in, obviously cancelled the entire order and found out that, as it was opened by the drivers, outside in the rain I might add, the furniture will probably be dumped at a charity shop as it’s not worth keeping it, makes you wonder about the quality if it’s not worth keeping. Avoid at all costs, find a local independent that cares, I certainly am, these big corporates just couldn’t care less, will be sending them a bill for the repairs of the hallway, followed by a court letter as I’m sure they won’t agree to pay that either.

Disappointed not delivered on agreed delivery date.

Ordered a bed and mattress 3rd January, to be delivered 2nd Feb.
Got a text late January saying it would be delivered 2nd Feb then another text an hour or so later saying order delayed and to rebook delivery and wait a few more weeks.
I called customer services to find out what was going on and they cited "traffic" and "weather" as being primary issues that caused the delay.
Don't believe this to be true.
I asked for a refund as a friend had told us this is typical for oak furniture land , and that it's what they do they drag out delivery longer and longer. I wonder if it's something to do with getting interest on the £££££ we spent with them without fulfilling the order??it was difficult to cancel via phone as the girl kept trying to convince me not to cancel and I kept saying I'm not interested in the various reasons it's delayed now I just want to get money back.

I really needed this new mattress for joint pain and it was hugely disappointing.

I'll never use this company again.

Update of missing feet

Update
I wrote a review how my new 4 seater ashby sofa had no feet on delivery.
The customer service with oakland furniture dealt with the problem. I received the feet within 7 days. And a technician came out and fixed the problem. All done with 10 days of taking delivery of my new sofa's. Very happy how it was all dealt with from customer service and the technician to fix the problem.
So now I can enjoy my new sofa's.
Thankyou oakland furniture.

I will never purchase anything from…

I will never purchase anything from this company again? I purchased 2 sofas on 10th September and expected it to be delivered today 18th December. I have just been notified it will not now be delivered and no gaurentee it will be delivered this year!
I’ve sold my old suite so nothing to sit on over Xmas with guests.
No explanation given. I am so annoyed and disappointed
