Nationwide Vehicle Rentals never disappoints. I’ve used them multiple times and every experience has been smooth and hassle-free. This time, I booked a van for some heavy lifting across town and it was perfect. The booking site is straightforward, and the free delivery saved me valuable time. I always appreciate the unlimited mileage, which gives me one less thing to worry about. Great vehicles and reliable service—what more could you ask for?

Smooth and reliable service from Nationwide Vehicle Rentals. I booked a car last minute for a short trip and was amazed at how quickly and efficiently everything was handled. I had a minibus booked with this company for over 4 months for a charity event. Shockingly, I received an email the afternoon before the hire date saying the vehicle was cancelled due to "mechanical issues" — with no alternative offered.

This forced us to cancel the entire event, resulting in lost donations and non-refundable costs like hotels and logistics. To make matters worse, they have still not refunded the £2,831 I paid upfront, despite multiple follow-ups.

Their lack of communication, responsibility, and care has been appalling. Avoid this company at all costs — especially if you're relying on them for anything important.

***Update 6/5/25 - so the company only 'authorised' a refund after I had made a fraudulent claim to my bank. Almost 4 weeks after they cancelled my booking and still no refund of our deposit. We went to a company called Alamo who's deposit was 1/4 of this and already given back the deposit before these lot and we have booked, used and returned the vehicle! No excuse at all!
My bank have said the money is being held by their bank and they need to release the funds in order to get the refund. Something they seem unwilling to do. This is now at a stage of putting charges on my account. Dont use this company! Updates to this review as and when there is any progress!

Five-star experience with Nationwide Vehicle Rentals. I hired a van for a big delivery job and was impressed by the quality and condition of the vehicle. The booking process was easy and transparent, and I appreciated the free delivery and collection service. The fact that there were no mileage limits gave me total freedom to plan my route. Excellent customer service throughout. Highly recommend for both personal and business use.

UPDATE: Day 43 and still no refund. AVOID THESE GUYS. I feel sorry for the guys in the call centres having to deal with this constant crap. READ THE REVIEWS BELOW. THEY ARE SIMPLY CRIMINAL

UPDATE: Now 34 days have passed since my refund was released apparently, and still NO DEPOSIT. This company is absolutely abysmal. NOTHING SHORT OF THEFT. Please can you give me my money back. And reply to customer emails.

UPDATE: 29 days after I’d been emailed to say my deposit was being returned and guess what??? Still no sight of my deposit. Downgraded the score to 1 Star. I would strongly advise you avoid this company like the plague. Feel very sorry for the customer service agents who must have to listen to the same thing from customers all the time. Blissfully sitting on people’s deposits and suggesting on refund emails that it can take up to 28 days to return money to a card. I’ve sent another email this evening in the hope I might get a senior manager call back. I won’t hold my breath.

The delivery of the vehicle was spot on. On the day of collection, the person collecting the vehicle arrive almost 5 hours after the pick up slot. Vehicle returned nearly two weeks ago and the deposit has not yet been returned to my account. Waited 7 days for confirmation that the deposit will be refunded and then told 7-10 more days for the money to get back into my account. Do not use if you need deposit back quickly. I’ve used Enterprise before and had the money back within 24 hours. The only benefit with this company was that the delivery of the car was relatively quick

The hire was fine, delivered and collected on time, but then that's done by a different company. However the hire was in March and in May I'm still trying to get the deposit returned despite having an email stating they had returned the deposit. Be vary wary about using this company

Stupidly went thru bus lane after 18:00 accept £35 fee as unfamiliar with the area. However then to be invoiced by Supplier Admin fee £45 then Nationwide Admin Fee £35 vat £15 lesson learnt but outrageous to add £95 additional cost - just be aware as when tried to discuss with customer service got very patronising agent no help at all 😡

Rubbish Service!!!
I rented 9 seater in Feb 2025 for April 2025. I received call from them 8 days before my holiday that they are unable to offer me 9 seater because they don't have one available during this period.
I paid £380.00 extra to another rental company to hire another vehicle.
I spoke with Nationwide about it and they said they can't do anything about it.

I would strongly recommend ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL!!! I was unfortunate that they didn't have 9 seater available, otherwise I would have hired from them only!!!
