Great service
First talked to Vincent in customer service and he was great and answered all of my questions about the process. Then the sign up and meeting with the doctor was very informative and easy to do. Overall it was a great experience.

It was easy but need more clarification
It was easy. The only part that was frustrating was when I was in the virtual waiting room; there was no indication how long it was going to be or if it was working and you were truly working. Luckily, the chat was right there and available. Granted it was an AI bot, but they were available immediately and they able to tell me at least the Dr was "seeing" others and it's approximately a 20 minute wait and that he would CALL my telephone when it's time. So while I was just sitting there on the Internet zoom call for 20-39 minutes by then I realized it was for nothing because my cell phone rang and it was Dr Nugg. It was very easy, but I've had a car me in upstate NY before.

I do want to reassure you that our chat is fully staffed by real, live support agents. We don’t use AI bots for patient communication. When you reached out, an actual team member was the one checking your place in line and letting you know the doctor was finishing up with other patients.
Your feedback about the virtual waiting room is also really helpful. The system doesn’t currently show a countdown or status indicator, and I understand how that can make you wonder whether it’s working. The doctor calling your phone directly is normal — the video room is just a holding space until they’re ready to begin.
We’re always working to make the experience smoother and more intuitive, and your comments genuinely help us improve. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review, and we’re glad you were able to get certified without any issues.

They pull you in and then disappoint you

My complaint has nothing to do with the Maryland regulations. I understand the rules. My complaint has to do with paying nuggmd for a service and not getting nearly the level of service you claim to be your standard. Last year you did the same thing: told me things would be better going forward, but no refund would be issued. And this year? A new set of complaints for a new set of terrible experiences. Year after year things get worse. I ask for a refund and you write a long flowery speech validating my concerns but doing nothing to actually resolve the issue. Give me my money back so I can go on my way!

I hate this company. My first experience with them was seamless but all of my renewals have been an insane headache. Last year the doctor literally forgot to submit my certification to the state. I found out when i went to the dispensary and they told me my certification was expired. I had to pay recreational prices and tax until the doctor got his s**t together and did his job. This year, I renewed and then continued to get messages urging me to renew. On the day I renewed, the doc approved me, hung up on me in the middle of our call and then sent me a recommendation letter from 2024. Chat takes an insane amount of time to get responses and don’t even try to expect resolution. Anytime I ask for a refund because my experience has been awful, it’s all smiles and gaslighting. Last year they sent me a whole $20 for my trouble AFTER I submitted a formal complaint to the BBB. It doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of making things right after the cluster-eff of working with this garbage company. As soon as my prepaid renewals are done, i’m done with nuggmd. You have ONE JOB and you have failed me more than you have done what I pay you to do.

For your Maryland renewal specifically, the state’s system only allows physicians to submit certifications once you’re close to your actual expiration date. In your case, the earliest date the system will accept your renewal is **September 9th**. Your doctor has already set a reminder to submit it as soon as the state opens the window, so you won’t need to take any additional steps.
I also want to acknowledge the issues you described with communication delays, mixed renewal messages, and the call experience you had. That’s not the standard we aim for, and I’m sorry you were left feeling dismissed and unsupported. We’re reviewing this internally to make sure these concerns are addressed.
Regarding refunds, I hear your frustration. You should never feel brushed off when asking for help, and I’m sorry past resolutions didn’t feel meaningful to you. Your feedback is being shared with our support and medical operations teams so we can improve both our communication and our follow‑through.
We’ll continue monitoring your renewal and ensure it’s submitted promptly once the state allows it. If you need anything in the meantime, we’re here to help.
