After many years we have unfortunately had to cease trading, we would like to thank all of our customers from over the years.
North East Kayaks is no longer trading. Begbies Traynor has been instructed to assist with placing the Company into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation.

Really bad communication
I bought a paddle for over £300 for my son. It never turned up! We emailed a few times! We thought we’d been scammed as we had no communication and they had taken the money. Jon eventually emailed back nearly a month after taking the money to say they weren’t available! We have found one elsewhere and asked for a refund but by the time I get a refund this one will probably have gone! How they can take £100’s off people and not bother to keep them up to date on their purchase is beyond me! I would keep well away from any online purchases with this company!

Excellent product range and great prices. Jon was super efficient with all communications and postage. Would not hesitate to buy from here again and definitely recommend it. Ordered Sunday arrived Wednesday - say no more!

Good range of gear and friendly staff
Friendly company with good customer service and a decent range of equipment. Shipping is always very quick and sometimes you get free stickers! I had an issue with a drysuit I bought from them and they were very quick to contact the manufacturers and sort it out for me.

Best price in the country for the Tarpon 120. Collected from the manufacturer and delivered to Dorset Within 4 days of my order. They rang to tell me the delivery date, then on the day, rang an hour before and 5 minutes before the delivery.

Just had fantastic customer service from Angus. We would like to thank him for all the time he spent with us this morning explaining the clothing products on offer for kayaking. His enthusiasm and knowledge was outstanding. We will certainly visit again.

Great products, very poor communication...
I spent over £1000.00 on a Perception kayak, paddle, caddy trolley and boat rack on 4 July 2021 and ... apart from an automatic response that my order had been received, I heard nothing. And more of nothing ... until I phoned Jon to ask when my items would be delivered. He was friendly and helpful, saying that the kayak would be delivered before the end of July. He also said the smaller items would be delivered separately - and they were, however, of the kayak and the paddle there was no sign or, and this is where it soured for me, no communication whatsoever from the company that my order was being delayed. When I finally phoned Jon to ask for an explanation he made me feel as if I was a nuisance and no-one else had ever chased up on orders like myself. (I had spent over £1000.00!!!) Finally, the kayak was delivered WITHOUT the paddle that I had been told would be delivered at the same time. So I telephoned Jon again - stories of short-staff, ill-health and how much he had done for me prevailed - and I was assured on the Thursday that 24-hr delivery of the paddle, forgotten when the van was loaded for delivery, would get the item to me before the weekend. Friday came and went, so did Saturday - at which point, Jon told me it had not been collected on the Thursday and went off late on Friday, I went out and bought a paddle from Decathlon for half the price - and the paddle finally arrived on the Tuesday! The products are great, don't get me wrong, however, of service there was absolutely none. I sat for three days with a Parcelforce tracking number that had been issued by Northeast kayaks but not registered yet. Finally, to add insult to injury, I received an automated email that my deliveries had all been effected and the order completed BEFORE the paddle had even left their doors. I was left feeling a nuisance, unwanted as a customer, and frankly, a waste of their time. PLEASE buy your kayak and goods from a face-to-face supplier who will treat you with a little courtesy and some good communication. Jon told me he moved heaven and earth to complete my order but it would have been good to hear from him rather than endure soggy silence for the duration of the long time it took to deliver my order.

Awful customer service
Awful customer service. You have to call them for updates. Jon will tell you that kayaks come with seats but when they turn up 4 months later without seats he will blame the manufacturer and not himself. Everything is someones else fault. No offer of help. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY LIE.

I didn't receive any email confirmation of my order but after enquiring with the shop, their response was swift and confirmed my order had been despatched and arrived the next (to)day! Great service!
