We saw Luisa Lyons for a tongue tie assessment and feeding support, and I can't recommend her enough. Our baby doesn't have a tongue tie but Luisa spoke to us about feeding and weight gain difficulties. She is so kind and friendly, she made me feel instantly at ease and I wish I could carry on seeing her for years! Luisa was extremely thorough, sent us an 8 page write up the next day and her 2 week follow up support has been fantastic.

I highly recommend Luisa if you have any feeding issues or tongue tie. She was so professional and put us completely at ease. She really got to know us as a couple and our baby, also so informative and supportive! We travelled to Norwich to have our sons frenulotomy at 2 weeks old with Luisa and it was the best thing we did! From the moment the procedure was done, I was no longer in pain feeding - such a relief!The support over the next 2 weeks after were invaluable. I’m over the moon that I’ve been able to continue my feeding journey and I am so grateful to Luisa for this. If you are currently struggling with feeding and don’t know what to do, I could not recommend Luisa enough!

We have really enjoyed going to the baby cafe; it is a friendly, relaxed environment to socialise with other parents and babies, with lovely, helpful professionals on hand to advise and reassure. Sian made sure to chat to us on our first visit to see how we were doing and ended up referring us to Luisa for a tongue tie assessment.

Luisa was really kind and professional, carrying out the tongue tie cut and offering subsequent support. After a couple of weeks, our baby’s feeding has been more efficient, her weight gain has improved significantly and she has been more content. Whilst we had an excellent experience with the NHS, we were grateful for the speed at which Luisa could do the procedure.

Luisa examined my daughters mouth / tongue and fully explained the situation in terms of the extent of the tongue tie and what the potential options were to proceed. At no time was there any pressure to proceed with a frenulotomy if I didn’t feel comfortable. She also looked at breastfeeding techniques and suggested options to potentially improve our experience and has kept in touch post procedure to check how we’re doing since the appointment. She made the whole process feel calm and stress free and I felt listened to as a mother. Would highly recommend if anyone is having feeding issues.

Luisa was so helpful, she guided us to the information to book an online appointment for a frenulotomy and had availability at her next clinic just a few days after we contacted her. We were a bit nervous about what the procedure would be like for our son (and us!) but she provided lots of helpful information by email beforehand and was really gentle, kind and supportive during the clinic session, talking us through her full assessment and addressing any concerns before performing the procedure very quickly and professionally avoiding too much distress to any of us. Luisa's after care was exceptional. Without it feeling intrusive she contacted us by text message several times during the evening and day afterwards to check how we were and on our son's progress. She also emailed us a very comprehensive report. We couldn't fault her care, compassion or professionalism and are so grateful for the service she was able to provide for us more quickly than waiting for an NHS appointment.

I visited for a consultation for my 4 month old daughter to have an assessment of her oral function, following a tongue tie division at 3 weeks by the NHS. After meeting with Luisa I really wish I’d seen her from the beginning, had the division done by her and benefited from the post division support. I genuinely believe if I had done so, my breastfeeding journey wouldn’t have ended when it did.
Regardless, seeing Luisa now has still been of great benefit, her ongoing support is reassuring and although she is a lactation consultant she has been able to provide support with formula feeding my daughter.

I took my 15 week old daughter to see Luisa Lyons in Norwich after being told the tie she had divided at 6 weeks old via NNUH had unfortunately reattached. Luisa had a thorough examination and talked us through our options being a redivision along with the risks before leaving us to make the decision. We went ahead and it was all done quickly and professionally. Luisa was lovely, kind and very calming. She also followed up with us a few days later to see how we were getting on along with providing some helpful aftercare ideas and help. Thankfully the tie has not reattached and we are back to happy feeding!

Luisa showed so much passion for what she does and made us feel at ease. It's not a nice experience to put your baby through a tongue tie division (albeit it was the right thing for us to do!) but Luisa made sure the experience was as quick and stress-free as possible.
My son had previously been assessed for tongue tie by someone else who said there is no tongue tie present - Luisa diagnosed him with a 100% restriction so had we not gone private it may well have caused issues later on down the line and then been extremely difficult to rectify. I can't recommend Luisa enough, even just for the advice and reassurance she gave us.

Today we went in to see Luisa for my little girls tongue tie, it was extremely quick and easy to book and from the second we got there we were made to feel at ease! Luisa made sure to tell us exactly what she was doing and how everything would work, no question was to silly, I truly can not thank her enough, from the second the tongue tie was cut and my little girl was put to the breast it truly change our feeding experience, before having this done it would be getting to feeding time and I would dread it, but now I look forward to every feed!

We made an appointment with Luisa in relation to our newborn son and his tongue tie - the advice provided by midwives was dismal and they confirmed our son would not be referred via the NHS as he is bottle fed. Luisa assessed our son and confirmed the tongue tie was as bad as it could be - the process to rectify this was explained in detail and we were happy to proceed. Luisa treated our son with great care and I am so thankful we found her - she understood that the quality of our feeds were poor due to the tongue tie and was also able to provide invaluable information regarding our breastfeeding journey which has seen improvement. The follow-up support has also been exceptional and we can't thank Luisa enough - the detailed communicationa sent following our appointment have been invaluable! No doubt this is the best money we spent and I would not hesitate to recommend this service! It really is such a shame that the NHS do not see the value in offering this kind of service as part of ongoing post-natal support to new mum's. Thanks to Luisa I know I have done the best with regards to feeding/breastfeeding and our son has full tongue function which has improved the quality of our feeds tremendously!

I had my 7 week old babies tongue tie re divided. We had it done by Luisa to begin with. She was amazing and we had full confidence in her, it was a personal choice to go back to her, which was some distance to travel.
She was professional, confident, competent, compassionate, brilliant communication skills prior, throughout and after appointment, kind and caring, the clinic was clean, tidy, easy to find.
Feeding has improved and hopefully will continue to improve.

Sian was absolutely amazing. I contacted her in complete and utter distress regarding breastfeeding issues I was having.
Sian was very quick to respond, calming me down and giving me fantastic advice and support. She offered me an emergency appointment the same evening which I thought was extremely amazing.

We had an excellent experience. We chose to go private due to the NHS waiting time. My daughter had a severe tongue tie and was feeding was taking up to an hour each time and I was feeding 12 times a day.
The procedure was so quickly and smoothly done and we were made to feel very safe and secure. The results were immediate. She could take a whole feed in 10-20 minutes and within days we were down to 8 feeds a day and she put weight on rapidly.
The ongoing support was really helpful. I would highly recommend.

We booked an appointment with Luisa as soon as we realised our son had tongue tie after having previously experienced extensive delays in having our daughter's tongue tie sorted via an NHS referral. The breast feeding was becoming painful by the end of Day 1 and despite having his tongue tie pointed out by the csection midwife while still in theatre, the hospital midwives refused to refer us until Day 3 and we were then to expect an approx 2 week wait for the procedure. Thankfully we had managed to get an appointment with Luisa on Day 5 by which point the breast feeding was so painful I was nearly crying at each feed because of the toe-curling pain and one nipple had become yellow and pussy. Our son was also struggling to feed from a bottle. Luisa immediately diagnosed a severe anterior tongue tie which would require a surgeon to fully divide. Without the procedure, our son would not only continue to struggle to feed but would also likely have difficulties with speech. It was a huge blow to find out that the tongue tie could not be sorted that day. Thankfully Luisa was able to offer a partial divide, thereby safely separating the less fleshy part of the tongue tie and (hopefully) enabling enough tongue movement to alleviate some of the pressure during feeding. Luisa made it very clear that there were no guarantees this would improve anything but luckily I felt an improvement during the immediate feed and this was enough to be able to continue for another few days. She was then able to get me an emergency referral with the NHS surgeon to have the remainder of the tongue tie rectified, at the end of the week.
Without Luisa's help and expertise there is no way I would still be breast feeding our son today. We are eternally thankful to her for her invaluable advice, expertise and genuine compassion.
