NM provided a professional service for a competitive cost
NM were very helpful, communicative and guiding in the sale of our property. We used NM to purchase the property just over 8 years previously and returned for their services for the sale because of the great job that Claire Myatt did originally. Samuel Highcock took control of the sale and provided the same high level of service. Cost was competitive and NM met our needs to complete the sale quickly.

Very good service
1st time i have personally used Nelson Myatt very happy with the service. They kept me updated throughout the process. When i needed to visit there was plenty of parkjng spaces, so it was very convenient. Would definitely recommend them.

I had a very difficult experience
I had a very difficult experience, although the process should have been easy, with no chain involved. Progress was slow, as my solicitor, who was pleasant enough, only worked 2 days a week and was difficult to get hold of. The day before, and the day of the move were both fraught, as she told me it wasn't going to happen on both days, when in the end, there wasn't a problem. I felt that she was not fighting my corner, and it made a stressful experience much worse.

We were disappointed to read your review, particularly as the version of events you describe is not consistent with what actually occurred during your transaction.
Firstly, the solicitor acting for you worked four days per week, not two, and at all times a deputy and wider support team of 16 staff were available should you have needed urgent assistance. Our records confirm that you were updated repeatedly throughout.
It is also important to clarify that your review is factually incorrect in stating that there was no chain. While you were at the top, there was still a chain involved, which meant completion could only take place once your buyer’s solicitor had received the necessary funds and authorisations.
Regarding the build-up to completion: the delays you experienced did not originate from our side. They were caused by issues on your buyer’s part, including delays with their Help to Buy ISA documentation, late mortgage fund requests, and your buyer’s last-minute request to re-inspect the property. These matters were entirely outside our control.
Despite this, your solicitor chased the buyer’s solicitors and related parties multiple times each day on both 7th and 8th October — by phone and email — pressing them to release funds and progress the matter. You were kept fully informed throughout, including being advised of the real risk that completion might not take place on the requested date because contracts had not yet been exchanged and the buyer’s funds had not been received.
Your comment that “in the end, there wasn’t a problem” reflects the fact that your completion ultimately went ahead because of the persistent efforts made on your behalf. Without this, completion on that date would not have been possible.
It is never our intention to add to a client’s stress, and we also fully understand that moving home is one of the most stressful life events. However, we must always provide accurate advice and manage expectations realistically, particularly where there are legal and financial uncertainties beyond our control.

No speed when my enquiry specifically requested it.
During initial enquiry, I requested a speedy house purchase which was agreed, sadly goi g away on holiday for a week during an important stage was not what I had expected, especially not handing I’ve any tasked to other staff members.
Not only for the time delays, but other issues, i would not use NM in the future nor recommend them. Why it took 10 weeks rather than the 6 - 8 as promised is shocking and very disappointing

Your purchase was completed in approximately 7 weeks, which was actually faster than the 8–12 week timescale set out in our Terms of Business that you agreed to at the outset. This was also during the height of the Covid period (July–August 2021), when transactions across the property market were facing significant challenges and delays.
It’s also worth noting that your purchase involved an unregistered property, which can make the process more complex. Despite this, we still managed to complete your matter well within the expected timeframe.
Given that the transaction took place over four years ago, we’re unsure why this review has only recently been posted, but we’re always happy to discuss any lingering concerns directly.
