I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to your near Romford branch. I had intended to purchase my first tile cutter and was planning to buy two sizes—a smaller cutter and a larger one for bigger tiles—but my experience in-store was extremely unsatisfactory.
Upon entering the branch, I was surprised that, despite the store not being busy, no staff member approached me or offered assistance. One member of staff even walked past me without acknowledging me. I had to find my own way to the tills to ask for help.
I showed the staff member a photo of the tile cutter I wanted, taken directly from your online catalogue. Initially, he was unable to locate the product in the system. I then looked up the product code myself and provided it to him, after which he confirmed the item was not in stock.
When I asked how I could obtain the item, he mentioned that it was available at a branch in the north, but he did not suggest any alternatives, check other nearby branches, or offer to arrange delivery to my local branch. I had to ask these questions myself. The interaction left me feeling that there was very little interest in assisting me or completing a sale.
As a result, I left the store without purchasing anything and was left shocked and disappointed by the lack of service, guidance, and support. I ultimately had to order the cutter online from company PTT, which was far less convenient than collecting it locally.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and review the level of customer service at this branch. Customers should feel supported and guided, especially when purchasing items listed in your own catalogue.
I would appreciate a response outlining how you intend to address this issue.

Jordan from the Swansea branch went above and beyond to direct us to our dream tiles, his knowledge and understanding of not just tiles but bathroom furniture, adhesive was second to no other and made choosing our dream bathroom a very much enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend

I bought a tile cutter for £126. Pay £15 extra for express delivery. It cost me £141. But they delivered the tile cutter to me in a week. Because of this, my work was interrupted and I lost a lot of money. This is not a serious company.

Just moved into the area and Jordan in the Swansea store was brilliant. Extremely friendly man, super customer care, sourced all our needs. Gave us very sound advice. Altogether a great shopping experience. We ordered some beautiful porcelain tiles, which came from Italy. They took a while, which was understandable.
They were delivered promptly to our house.
Even now we drop in to buy materials. Jordan is usually at hand to assist.
A pleasurable experience to shop in Swansea N&C. Thank you Jordan for all your attention.

Bubba at the hedge end store was extremely helpful going out of his way to help us get the tiles we wanted

A couple of years ago I purchased a wall hung basin unit from the Stevanage branch. I had a problem with unexpected water damage to the bottom of the drawers immediately after installation. It was agreed that it was a manufacturing problem and the manager at the time provided replacements. After two years in an ensuite bathroom used only by adults the bottom of the drawers had blown again and the finish on the drawer fronts was starting to lift in a couple of places. I took these back to the Stevenage branch to see if anything could be done after two years. Scott, the manager agreed that the damage should not be occurring and subsequently approached the manufacturer for a resolution. He called me with updates and eventually has managed to provide a complete replacement unit from which the replacement parts can be taken. The interaction was positive from my first visit and the outcome is acceptable. On both occasions the customer service from the managers at the Stevenage branch has been faultless. Many thanks for your assistance.

Anj gave an excellent customer service, giving lots of help and insight on the best tiling options to fit my needs. She spent lots of time running through the different styles and even offered tea and coffee.

The space in the store where you can sit down and try different combinations gives a stress free way of playing around and finding out the best solutions for your bathroom.

Paint ordered online - arrived quickly and well packaged to avoid damage

Bored with endless shades of grey and beige, the showroom manager sourced a bathroom tile to match a particular shade of colour within 24 hours. Outstanding service

Although APC messed up on delivery as I had to delay delivery by a day which I did online and then they lost the parcel which took them 2 days to find!
Not the end of the world and not N&C’s fault
Would deffo buy from them again!

1. I ordered tiles, adhesive and trims online on a Saturday but it took until the following Wednesday to tell me they didn't have stock. They offered an alternative which I accepted which was slightly more expensive but they agreed to sell these at the same price.
2. The communication from their couriers is abysmal. I received an email 8/1 saying that part of the order would be delivered on the 13/1. The following day I received an email saying that it was out for delivery and it was delivered 20mins later, fortunately I was at home. On the following Monday I contacted T&C to get an ETA for the rest of the order but all they could tell me was it had been sent but could arrive anytime that week! At 12.45 I got an email to say it was out for delivery and it arrived an hour later. Unfortunately I was out so the driver had to leave £150 worth of goods on my drive. I wouldn't have minded but I was charged £50 for this "service".

We had excellent, helpful advice and service from Nikki and Karl at the Cardiff store with our purchase.
I couldn’t recommend them both highly enough and we will definitely be visiting again.
