National Grid are 5 star

National Grid have been digging up local roads again, it is very disruptive. A large very deep hole was full of water and poorly protected by barriers that blew over when the wind blew causing concern as a child could easily get too close.

Contacting them quickly provided an explanation of what they were doing and why, plus a check on the deep water filled hole and then the restoration of the hole.

Two more underground cables have to be installed - all part of making the distribution network robust and to satisfy our need for more and more electricity.

I would not care to be doing this work, with traffic speeding past so close, knocking over the barriers and ignoring the red traffic light signals.

I just want to say a big thank you to…

I just want to say a big thank you to Adam and Gavin for their massive help . We had a life cable come apart on the 20th of February 2024 which made the area unsafe for all. These two where very helpful and had the power back on. Adam and Gavin 5star all the way . God bless you both

Excellent service from National Grid

I just wanted to say thank you to all involved in helping us during the incident that caused us loss of power on Wednesday 14th Feb.
The phone was answered promptly and efficiently in a friendly manner, about 40 minutes later an engineer arrived who establish there was a fault underground. he went off an returned within the hour and set up a generator to keep us going. later your office phoned to check all was OK.
Later in the evening the engineers called back and refilled the generator with fuel to keep it going overnight.
The following morning around 9:00am (today) they called again to refill the generator and let me know a team were coming to fix the fault.
By around 12:00pm they had finished the job including fitting a new service fuse and box.
Everyone was very friendly and efficient and a credit to your company inc those I spoke to on the phone.
So thank you very much for providing a superb and efficient service and employing such nice staff.

Called 105 as we had no power to our…

Called 105 as we had no power to our property. National grid were with us within an hour. Using their gadgets they figured out where the issue was and dug a few holes, repaired a broken cable and filled the holes, took away any remaining mess. Wouldn't know they'd been here at all! They worked really hard to get us back on grid. Thanks guys!

A very positive experience

Team arrived in much shorter time than specified.then overhead team was required and arrived quickly.problem sorted out as quickly as possible.we were kept informed along the way and the men were all great in their approach and dealings with us.all much appreciated.thankyou

Contacted to relocate fuse box as it on our way in hallway. They just need to turn the box to back wall and guess quoted £860 looks like people getting this amount of money from trees. 0 customer care very rude employees

Excellent Service

We had an electrical problem with the isolation switch between the meter and the consumer unit - apparently a grey area when considering responsibility. After 24 hours of messing about (with no power, no heating, no light etc) waiting for electricians, only to be told that they wouldn’t do the job until the power company removed the main fuse. National Grid arrived within 90 minutes of my call, and fixed the whole problem for us within 30 minutes. Excellent service - a breath of fresh air!

After finding out are electric was…

After finding out are electric was looped from the national grid and needed it un-looping due to are new ev all I can say is how fast the response was from them and a very professional man arrived one day later , talked us threw it all every little detail and two weeks later ie today they arrived un-looped my property fitted a new cupboard door and had are electric back on with in the hour , both men were very polite and professional , no mess and talked me threw the next stage about back filling and putting all the driveway and footpath back to normal , well done Stoke on Trent national grid you should be proud and keep up the amazing work , be safe

Excellent service

We had an unexpected power cut due to underground cable damage. National grid kept us fully up to date and repaired the problem ahead of schedule. I can’t fault anything they did , excellent communication and service.

Just had third power cut in three days…

Just had third power cut in three days costing thousands of pounds in lost stock staff wages and revenue from customers sales they even told me yesterday a emergency generator they installed had ran out of diesel gross negligence in my book now they tell me I have to claim on my insurance and accept no responsibility it's about time their management was made to account for there shoddy work now look over a year to reply what a shambles they're now trying to make out they care I had numerous phone calls with them at the time and they did nothing to resolve the situation so I can't see the point in any further discussion which won't alter their worse than diabolical service

Exceptional service- reported outage…

Exceptional service- reported outage early in the morning and a nice gentleman came to check our property- no problems our end, sent over a couple of other guys after about 30 minutes who discovered someone else had reported a fault just after they arrived- turns out was just a fuse somewhere! Was all very quickly dealt with in a professional and kind manor- thank you!

Impressed by professionalism

Returned from holiday to find house had no power coming in. Contacted National Grid after checking everything. Sent someone with 1 hour. Identified serious issue. Arranged generator in meantime which was delivered with 2 hours. Team arrived 1st thing next morning. Dug up path outside, replaced some hardware and was back in service by lunchtime. Very impressed with the professionalism of everyone in the team from 1st contact to end. The team were efficient polite and respectful and I am happy to award 5 stars.

Currently holidaying in Blakeney Forest…

Currently holidaying in Blakeney Forest of Dean Woke to no power Contacted National Grid on 105 and Was connected to a very nice informative and helpful lady called Alisia who was most helpful and apologetic, even though the Power outage was not her fault and told me Engineers were out trying to restore the issue and hopefully would be back on by 11
Alisia also rang me and left a voice message informing me the power should be back on.
Highly impressed by National Grid and Alisia

What an incredible bunch who work in…

What an incredible bunch who work in Weston Super mare.
From start to finish they were amazing!
Our new to us, but old house needed external and internal work.
John and his team were quick, efficient and most of all, mindful that this is our home.
All of them were friendly and went above and beyond to help this big job go smoothly.
Very pleased

Thankyou to Kev and clampy who turned up in the pouring rain and pitch black to fix my line after an inconsiderate lorry driver carrying a house drove past and ripped the cables from my house straight out of the mains pole!
These men are the real super hero’s they were efficient polite and very professional, I went to bed leaving them with a cuppa and kitkat (luckily I have a gas hob) i woke with electric and a tidy garden.
Thankyou again kev and clampy for sorting out my poopy situation that we found ourselves in 😉 you made my day 👏🏻

Job well done

I'm renovating a cottage near Llandovery. It was last renovated in the late 1960s. One of the main priorities was to move the electric meter from inside the house to outside. I contacted Western Power, as it was then, and they sent out an engineer. It was decided that the electric cables that fed the property were too low and it that it would be a better job if they came from the pylon to the cottage underground. A team of contractors came out and layed the cable underground. A couple of weeks later the meter box was fitted outside and National Grid came and moved the meter from inside to the new box outside. James Edwards and his team of lads from National Grid were superb, very polite and very professional. I thought it was going to be a nightmare job but it was brilliant. Thank you National Grid for a fantastic job.
