Very efficient operation.
Very efficient operation to replace 5 telegraph poles outside my home. They erected the new poles the day before. On the day there was an engineer on each pole with a cherry picker. They knew what they were doing and stuck at it until the job was done. I was impressed.

The idiots were doing road works at 10pm when my sister was sleeping in bed and had exams the next morning. + they leave stupid road signs in the middle of the path where they became a danger for pedestrians

8 months of hell
8 months trying to get a new supply fitted and just at the final hurdle after agreeing to do all the work right up to the post my self they stopped it? 8 months of hell for nothing the person we was trying to help could not move in and died before getting the chance I cant say in words what i really want to put on here

This disgrace of a company are turning the power off to over 300 properties on Thursday 10th October at 5pm to 10 pm to do a repair. Have spoken to customer service and asked why they couldn't do this during the day. Could not give me a straight answer. So no heating or electricity on the coldest day of year so far for many pensioners in this area. . National grid Exeter. You are a joke of a company and quite obviously don't give a stuff about your customers. Thanks.

Third day without broadband, but not their fault.
The entire hamlet is without broadband, a hole has been dug in front of the Openreach box, there are two thick cable ends wrapped in insulating tape and a sign saying National Grid. I met an Openreach engineer there this morning and he said that the National Grid have to repair the cables first.
I called you: nobody knew that this supply wasn’t connected. After a long wait on the phone, I got a call from the local National Grid engineer who said that they simply made safe the supply and they are waiting for Openreach to replace the box. So I gave him the Openreach engineer’s number: he said he’d talk to him, then ring me back. That was an hour ago.
We are at an impasse. No one will accept responsibility. No one will repair the damaged box. No one will restore the broadband service. Openreach’s estimate of 9th October - shocking though that is - is pointless because NO ONE is sorting this.
15:19 The delightful man from the National Grid has just called: it’s definitely an Openreach issue because they need to replace the damaged equipment at which point the NG will switch on the power.
7th call back from NG to say that this isn’t their fault which I’d realised last week (see above) and that they were waiting for Openreach to ask for the reconnection job to be priced and scheduled. More proof that Openreach cannot find their way out of a paper bag.

On Sunday 29th at around 17.07 l lost all power to my bungalow. After checking all MCBs all was OK, which told me that the fault was outside. I went out in the wind and rain and found out that the meter was showing no display, which told me that it was a major problem best left to the experts. I should have phoned 105, but didn't because I thought one of my neighbours had already phone them and went to bed.
In the morning I realised the fault was still there and called National Grid, where my call was answered by most helpful Cloe who took notes and told me that the engineers will get to me within the 4 hrs or well before, which they did. Steve Paddle came first to asses the problem and found it to be up on the pole. He was joined by Mike Cole so to carry out the repairs and got the job done in about half hour. Steve and Mike were both efficient, friendly and polite the perfect qualities needed as go between customers and the employer National Grid

Excellent response time
Excellent response from National Grid. Having noticed a strange smell emanating from the main fuse area of my electricity supply I called National Grid. Phone call was answered very quickly and an engineer visit booked. Engineer arrived within an hour and identified a faulty fuse head (original 1960's Bakelite), this was replaced an hour later with the assistance of a second engineer. All in all about 2½ hours from initial call to completion of fault, so we'll done National Grid. Also received a courtesy call following day to check all was well.

National Grid Poor service not fit for purpose
1am had a power cut in leicester LE4 reported to National Grid told they are working on it, looked on their website says the power will be back on at 4.30am. The same thing happened 6 months ago underground transformer blew in the street. 8am looked out on my street can't see anyone working. what time do they turn up 8.30am at the same place they replaced the transformer 6 months ago. Food in the fridge freezer is going off and only compensation you get is £70 and that's if the power is off for more than 12 hours. National Grid certainly take their time and have an issue with honesty

Terrible service had to have work done…
Terrible service had to have work done on my mains intake for electricity, left a hole dug in my garden being disabled I can't leave my home, they also left the ground wire screwed to my wall telling me I have to pay for this to be connected toy fuse box myself.
No one said anything about this before the work started, I have had to try five numbers before I finally got though to someone than can help, National Grid main customer services says it's closed on a Friday morning even though it says they are working till 1700.
If you are due to have work done by these people I would ask them everything you can think of before giving permission for the work to be carried out!!

Outages
Every time there is an outage my electric garage door stops working ands has to be reset. I hadn't realised the connection between the 2 events until this latest time. The door is regularly serviced and maintained. I usually pay about £30 to get it reset. This last time was an emergency call out and I was charged £60 which I didn't have either in cash or in the bank. I am 83 and living entirely on State Pension. Fortunately the engineer was prepared to wait. He says this happens a lot and blamed National Grid for the outages saying that the power lines are not well maintained. I called National Grid and said I was sending them the bill. They said, not their fault, they don't guarentee the supply and we accept this when we sign up for supply. Really? When this happens again - note I say when and not if, I will have to leave the door open and use the garage entirely as a carport. It backs onto farmland and people who leave their shed doors unlocked are regularly robbed as I was when I once carelessly left the garage door open. Poor service. Uncaring attitude. Incidentally I am supposed to be on the National Grid vulnerable list, god help me.

Wonderful and quick team
An electrician found an exposed copper wire on our incoming mains line. He advised us to call national grid. National grid were fantastic! I rang 105 and the person on the end of the line was great, they logged the issue, gave me warnings and advice what to do. Within an hour the national grid assessment guy turned up, tested the bits and called for his team. They arrived within 30 mins and within 2 hours after that we had a new updated incoming mains box (which we realised was from 1976). They were very friendly and professional and did a great job. Thank you so much!
Side note for any people who need them, offer them a cuppa and the bathroom.

I have health issues as a pensioner, and we lost electricity in early hours of the morning,
Called National Grid and they had 2 very experienced,polite technicians at our house in couple of hours, they sorted out our problem and fixed us back to power, we’re very pleased….

We had a power cut at roughly 10pm last night I called national grid and they came out within 30 minutes and installed an emergency generator to ours and our neighbours property. Jim and the team of engineers were quick to attend the emergency and at least left us with power. Had to dig up the road. Less than 24 hours and they have fully restored our electricity. Cant praise them enough

National grid are withholding vital…
National grid are withholding vital information relating to my premises. When asked to give me the full Mpan they only read the last 14 numbers instead of the full 21 digit numbers. When asked for the entire number they suggest that they haven’t got it and they don’t know what it is, I asked them to provide details of all meters associated with my premises the representative state that they don’t know . Something fraudulent has been going on resulting however things are being covered up.
Calling all investigative reporters contact me urgent action need to be taken. This is bigger than the post office scandal.
