GovWorks Passport Renewall Serice via FedEx is a Scam
Seeing on the FedEx website that FedEx offered expedited passport and mistakenly believing that FedEx was a reputable company, even if subpar relative to UPS, I decided to pay FedEx $220 to handle and expedite my passport renewal for me. FedEx then linked me to the GovWorks website, where I entered my personal and credit card information and was charged $220. Upon taking my payment, GovWorks simply linked me to the public travel.state.gov website to submit my application. In effect, FedEx, and GovWorks, simply charged me $220 to provide me the link to travel.state.gov with no other service whatsoever.
SCAM!!! Stay away!!
Paid $107.00 and never went through the process, as it looked a little shady to me. I ended up going through the government website. I went through the refund process and never heard anything from this SCAM outfit.
I was charged $85 for nothing.
I was charged $85, spent ages filling out the online form to renew my passport, and ended up with a link to a blank form that was basically what I had spent a significant amount of time filling out on the govWorks website. In essence I received nothing but a link I could have found on my own for the $85 I spent. When I tried to find a way to contact govWorks on the website I had filled out the form on, there was no way to contact them or get help. Do not, I repeat, do not use this website. It is a scam! I fell for it because it was the first link that came up when I searched for a site to renew my passport. It even had a red maple leaf on the first page, titled Rush Passport, that made me think they were legit. They are not. Do not use their 'service', It is not a service. As well there was no place to request a refund on the page. Stay away from this website. It is NOT legit.
Stay away from this waste of time UNLESS...
This was about trying to apply online for an International Drivers License.
Unless you want to spend a lot of time putting up with their buggy software and paying up front with a credit card before even completing an application, and then finding out they actually charged you-- twice!-- because your initial session bombed and you had to start another... unless you want to call their associated support line and listen to how it was not for govworks but passport something and all they could do was give you an email or request a call back (after 24 hours-- by this time, they would have had their money from your credit card)... unless you have all the time in the world to stay on the phone with a very polite rep with infinite patience who, realizing that we were going to make this a real consumer issue and run with it, had the decency to "expedite" my request-- which resulted in govworks sending my email a pre-cancellation form for both attempts and asking me to fill out those forms and send back... plus now they already have all my information, that I tried to write over but it will be still be available to them no doubt... and so on. TO THINK THAT I FELL FOR THIS, having found them while searching for this service first at Triple AAA and then finding govworks-- did I say, they actually have a Triple AAA logos on some of their communications... so, IF you want to deal with all that, and also with putting a freeze on your favorite credit card while you wait to see if they'll truly cancel the orders... THEN go for it and hope also that your browser is compatible with their software; at least you will complete the application in a single session and not charged for all your restart attempts (mine was 44.99 each, so times 2)-- I didn't have the patience to try different browsers, in case that was their software problem; However, even then, beware: polite and patient as the agent who talked to me was, perhaps he would not have finally decided to "expedite" the situation had I not mentioned being a consumer advocate and that I had all the time in the world and that this would be an easier... even "fun" case. (Now that part, believe it or not, was not a tall tale.)
On the positive side, IF their website worked (some parts of it were well-thought-out) and had they had their customer support number go directly to the division that is responsible for govworks instead of a passport service where you were immediately steered away and then finally given an email to write to or to request a call back (not both), THEN it would be a very useful service indeed.
For now, I froze the credit card and alerted the credit card company; if it goes south, they will deal with it as a "fraud" case. A lot of work for nothing, even if I get reimbursed!
Now just waiting to see what happens within the week.
I can only hope it's a legitimate business... and will fix its problems, in which case, I wish them luck. (This occurred on 2/20/2026 PST in case the date shows otherwise once it's online.)
This company is a complete scam
This company, in league with FedEx, is a complete scam. I was told at the passport authority that I did not need to pay this company and to have the transaction stopped. When I called to ask them to cancel the pending charge they hung up on me.
This company is such a scam
This company is such a scam. I paid for 7 - 9 day service even though I didn't need my passport for 26 days just to be safe. After paying it said I needed to call the 1-800 number to proceed. Called for five days until I got a hold of someone. The lady then told me to get my passport in time I would need to pay the 1 - 2 day fee. I paid it. It is now two weeks from that day and I still don't have a passport. Horrible company.
This is a scam pure and simple
This is a scam pure and simple. I thought this was a legitimate service and the only thing it does is fill out a form and charge you for it and you still have to pay the State Department for your passport. I need to figure out some recourse for getting my money back.
This is an american company offering…
This is an american company offering "expedited services" for a Canadian passport. They do not disclose this on the site where you see their services when you search for passport forms. On further checking all they are really doing is printing out a shipping label. I had to download adobe to use, and the form in the end came out blank. Stay away!
If there was a negative star I would…
If there was a negative star I would give it. FedEx is terrible for linking this service. It is a very expensive scam. Our passport bureau said they see people getting taken by this company all the time.
I used this site to try and get an IDP
I used this site to try and get an IDP. I tried to take the required photograph using the link sent to me and it didn't work, despite MULTIPLE attempts. I have requested a refund after going directly to an AAA office. I was told the website was a scam and if it is not a scam, it is at best faulty.
Do not use this service
Do not use this service. Do not. We called the state department and our local official passport departments and were told the same thing. "Do not use this or any other outside service that claims to expedite your passport". So true. How I wish we would have called before foolishly paying this service. You will not receive a refund, even if you cancel in 24 hours. Call the state department help line. Follow their instructions on an expedited passport. They will help you with and give you correct information. Do not use this or any other outside service. Save your money. Get it right. I emphasize this again. Do not use this "rush my passport fed ex" entity. They are more expensive, slower and terribly unreliable.
100% SCAM save your $$$
Paid $220 only to discover that does not include the gov. fee of almost another $200. This website is misleading and makes it impossible to request a refund. 100% scam!!!!
No way to contact customer service and the refund link does not work.
This is a scam
This is a scam. I did not use their service and they are refusing my $209. refund. DO NOT USE!
Horrible to deal with
Horrible to deal with. Paid nearly $500 to expedite my passport. Afterward their site is showing a spinning wheel of death and their answer is try again in 30 minutes and if that won't work try tomorrow and if that won't work try Monday or call us back and we'll push the date back to ship your passport. Total crap show! I'm not even sure they can get it done. And if they can't I'll be calling AMEX to report this fraud. If they come through I'll update this from 1 star but for now I wish we could give ZERO STARS!!!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS-SCAMMERS
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS-SCAMMERS. They did not process my passport and did not refund my $400. Please help me file a complaint to have their business closed down!!!
They suck
They suck
No link to get refund. They don’t accommodate mail to a P.O. Box.
It’s mailed by the us state department- they mail to a P.O. Box. Wtf
These people are crooks
Falsely poses as a division of AAA
Posed as a division of AAA for rendering international drivers permits. They even use the AAA logo. Realized the error after ordering. I immediately emailed them demanding a refund and let them know I have informed the Better Business Bureau and more.
MyGovWorks appears to be a squirrely LLC...
I had to cancel my application within 24-hours and filled out the form required but there was NO WHERE to send it to on their website or in my login portal. I called the 1-800-220-1899 listed on their website and on the passport page of Fedex, but got nowhere really fast.
However, I remained diligent and looked them up in the Better Business Bureau website and found out they are NOT an accredited BBB Company and they are an LLC -- not a corporation -- which immediately raised concerns. Fortunately, there was a different number listed on the BBB site (800-963-7000) and I was able to reach an agent (Joel) after a wait time, who stated that he would issue my refund request and that it would take 2-7 business days for their accounting department to review and authorize my refund. I will check back in a few days to see if they follow though. My take: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
pretty sure this is a scam
pretty sure this is a scam. AVOID! had to file a claim and get my money back
Trash company
Trash company. Finished my application and they never got back to me. Wasted 400 bucks.
