Absolutely brilliant company. No speaking to robots, no lectures about behaving correctly, no 5 minute wait while some monotonous voice and stupid music play. I really couldn't believe it. I rang a number and within a few secs and actual human woman with clear English answered and gave me the information I needed. I was done in about 30 seconds. Took me a few moments to come to my senses after this absolutely mind blowing experience.

I’ve used GEM 5 times in last year ( 3 different vehicles) and they have always been prompt and got me to where I need to be. When I used AA I had to wait hours before anyone came

I have been with Gem for many years , and have just renewed my policy . Thankfully I did as a week later I broke down!! . I found it very easy to put all the information into the app on my phone, and with in 45 minutes the break down truck arrived . So many thanks to John the driver a knight in shining armour , and to John Mennell at Mennell motors for repairing my car at his garage, excellent service thank you 🙏.

I called them out when my car had an issue with the brake switch. Someone came out quite quickly to my home but couldn't fix it on the spot so I got towed to a nearby garage. I was offered a lift back also.

A very responsive and efficient breakdown and rescue service. Unfortunately I have had occasion to call upon them a few times in the past three or so years (I have a somewhat unreliable classic car!) and they have never let me down. Highly recommended.

When my car failed to start I phoned Gem, filled out the forms and was called back quickly. I really liked following the recovery lorry on a map in real time. It took just over an hour to arrive and the driver was so helpful and friendly. I was taken home, about 40 miles, on a low loader. Top work and I can't recommend highly enough.

Prompt response to call and provided recovery inside the estimated eta. No repair at the roadside possible so taken to a workshop of our choice. Excellent.

Found the app very easy to use and it asked all the relevant questions. Response was swift and the recovery vehicle was there within 20 mins. Driver of vehicle was very pleasant and helpful and particularly concerned to ensure our safety. He dropped us off so we could pick up husband’s car and took my vehicle to the kia garage.

Tyre sidewall damaged so my can of goo wouldn't work. Professional call centre listed to me when I said there's no point in putting my space-saver wheel on as it will have to come off again for a new tyre. Recovery driver was local to me, professional, careful with the car and knew the area. (Massive contrast to the hassles I had in previous years with the R-A-C and A-A when I had a car with more than one air suspension failure, and they insisted on sending out a technician each time before finally agreeing to recover). GEM call centre listened and called to check a) Had the recovery agent arrived and b) Had I arrived at the tyre fitter. A genuine 10/10.

One of my tyres completely deflated suddenly after a pothole, and my vehicle does not have a spare tyre. With a mile to go home i was not sure I would make it so didnt take the chance and pulled into a pub car park. I was with my young daughter and wife and it was during a heatwave. I contacted Gem using the app, and I received confirmation within 10 minutes of the recovery agent that was heading to me and from which location they were travelling from. I then received a further call from the recovery agents themselves within the hour to say that they were out with my vehicle. I was then transported back home, and my car was delivered to my front drive. I received a call from GEM to confirm I had been picked up. Very good experience. Been with GEM for a number of years but I think this is the first time i used them.

We were waiting for 5 and a half hours !! Reported at 16.30 , picked up at 22.00!! We were left on the side of a busy dual carriageway which I would consider more dangerous than a motorway as on a motorway there is a hard shoulder and crash barrier, none of which are present on a dual carriageway, whilst the traffic is travelling at the same speed.
As well as beeing dangerous and traumatic there no facilities, so no food or drink or toilet facilities.
On top of this we were repeatedly told the rescue would arrive in an hour , only to be increased by an hour when the previous hour had expired . When I asked the operator if it would ever end or if I could still be here at midnight (called for assistance at 16.30) they could not confirm that I wouldn't still be there by midnight! I repeated asked if they could contact an alternative recovery company after hours of waiting but this was not done. Overall a terrible experience. After being a customer for about 20 years I will not be renewing and will seek a recovery company with a better record of rescue time , it appears Britannia rescue have a better record. I need to reduce my risk of being left in such a horrendous position in future.
