When we got qualified for a new build by Bill, we also got disqualified by a different mortgage adviser for the same property. Bill gave us 99.9% assurance that based on our income/outgoings we are qualify for the property... Guess what! We got a mortgage offer from a bank on the 14/7/2023 for this new build. I did mortgage through a mortgage advisor of mortgage bureau in March 2022 when our new house was under construction, and was expected to complete by September 2022.
Mortgage advisor, Initially emailed me that my mortgage will be fixed for five years and he has taken the mortgage in principle but then later after couple of weeks he said interest rates have increased and now with this much monthly instalment only two-year can be fixed and 5 year offer has become much expensive, I am first time buyer and I had no good idea about the mortgages, but he did not guide me that I should go for five years because the interest rates are on the rise.
I ended up selecting two years fixed offer but he never guided me to make a wise decision.
if adviser had explained in detail then I could go for a five year mortgage.
The house completion was in September but document mentioned installments starting May 2022 and fixed period until May 2024, I asked adviser why is so and he told me instalments and fixed period will reschedule to September when I will start payments.
when I started to pay mortgage in September, I found my mortgage is only fixed until May 2024, so I have even less than two year fixed-period.
I will have to remortgage early next year and it will probably cost me £800-£900 per month extra.
I could be easily be relaxed for next four years if my mortgage advisor had given me good advice.
I feel he was favouring bank more than myself and never gave me any advice about the mortgage deal.
I feel he was just doing the paperwork between me and the bank.
We expect mortgage advisor to work in the best interest of the client, but I did not get good service.
Mortgage did not bargain with bank that five year fixed agreed in mortgage in principle shouldn’t be changed. He hardly answered telephone calls and only answered emails when he had time. I have really suffered because of lack of advice, and this will cost me a lot.

Barrett homes had recommend the Mortgage Bureau when we reserved our house, we had already been given a mortgage in principle but I hadn’t felt confident with the previous advisor.
After speaking to Wes and him qualifying us for the reservation I immediately felt at ease. I understood the process and knew that he would be there to help us.
To that end Wes went above and beyond, he was there whenever we needed him and the mortgage application was plain sailing.
I can’t thank Wes enough for the time he spent on us. We highly recommend Wes and the Mortgage Bureau!
Speak to you in 5 years when our mortgage will need renewing ;-)

Brad and Fiona made our experience of obtaining our first Mortgage really easy! I and my partner work jobs that mean phone calls can be difficult, so Brad was super easy to get hold of via email and responded very quickly! Fiona was the same and they were both happy to explain everything very clearly for novices like ourselves! All round great experience dealing with Mortgage Beureu

We had Nyk and Emily help us with our application. Both were excellent at keeping us updated and explaining the steps as we processed our application. From submitting the application through to acceptance is a highly stressful process. However when you have such kind, responsive people to assist you it really makes it easier. So many thanks to you both and I hope to use you again at the end of our term.

Bill was an absolutely wonderful advisor throughout the process. He always made himself available to respond to our queries in a prompt manner. Additionally, he explained everything in a clear way which made me feel confident that I was understanding things correctly. Our case handler Fiona was also excellent, providing regular updates regarding the status of our application.

This is the second time we have used Mortgage Bureau, the first buying new build five years ago and again June 2023 to remortgage after fixed rate ended. The Team, Daniel and Cainan were excellent, explaining in detail each part of the process, working with our solicitor to make the whole process painless (as much as it could be), would thoroughly recommend.

Great team work, very helpful in sorting out the mortgage application, the process was very smooth from the beginning until the completion.
