Unsympathetic
What a very horrible unsympathetic company. I was around Swinsty reservoir in Yorkshire where I paid for my parking. Around the reservoir unfortunately my Mother fell and we were unexpectedly delayed. As I realised I was about to run out of car parking as I had paid on the app (for convenience of being able to extend it!) I tried to extend my parking, however couldnt as NO RECEPTION. I paid again when we got back. Got issued a ticket and my appeal DECLINED.! No empathy whatsoever from this company - so disappointed.

My phone didn’t work in the woods at Fewston reservoir, so my wife paid on hers- however the app failed to change the car reg no. I got a fine from MB, so I told them what happened, sent proof of payment & car ownership and proof of bank payment -£2.15, they keep rejecting- it’s now at a solicitor stage, I want my cost covered or I’ll see them in my local court- who will then throw it out & award me costs.
Don’t let these charlatans bully you.
Absolutely Awful Company… Avoid
Absolutely awful company. Appealing to both them and POPLA is not worth it. If I genuinely thought all wouldn’t be good with the appeal I would have stumped up the £60 but an unsuccessful appeal meant I had to pay the full £100.
I have never, nor anyone else I know, typed in a cost amount, always the amount of hours but not in king Arthur’s Car Park, Tintagel , Cornwall. I automatically typed in 2 for 2 hours not realising it was £2 for 1 hour and £4 for 2 hours, although the original signage (now removed from a Google search, was £1.40 for 2 hours). This was the day before returning home from a week in Cornwall on holiday and I used 2 different car parks a day to see as much as possible of the county. King Arthur’s car park was the only one to type in cost amount not time amount. I genuinely thought I was 10 minutes early when in fact, I was 50 minutes late.
This returned home experience ruined a lovely holiday, I won’t be back and I will continue to enjoy the east coast of England with their very reasonable and ‘normal’ machines.
To make matters worse and ironic to the extreme, At Looe carpark, the machine took an elderly local’s cash but the machine wasn’t working. She had no clue as to how to use the app, so I did it twice, once for me and then for her because that’s what you do… help people. You don’t make a fortune from genuine errors.
I had paid for four hour parking slot
I had paid for four hour parking slot, extended it by an hour towards the end as I thought I may not get back in time. I had been kayaking with the family. We were back in good time, however were assisting a lady in getting her solid kayak secure on her car roof. We soon left.
2 weeks later I received a parking fine of £100 for going over the time by 13 minutes, you are by law allowed 10 minutes to 'get out'.
I wrote a very polite letter telling them I was not avoiding payment, but had just gone over as we assisting a lady.
They did not accept this! I was very dissapointed, it was not that we were avoiding payment, we just did not realise the time had only just ran out.
It has left us not wanting to go back there, although such a lovely stretch along the river, we have now found somewhere else to park.
I would certainly avoid this car park at all times.
What a con and scam
Let down as had a family member witness paying twice, had screenshot of the two notifications so had proof of time as the machine would not print tickets!
Still got to pay the fine. All a con and scam. Very unhelpful and huge let down.
Crooks
Crooks. I parked my car at an angle to enable my elderly mother to get out of the car. I was not parked across another parking bay - I was not impinging the company's revenue making possibility. Nevertheless, a few weeks later, a form arrived with photographs clearly displaying how my car was over a white line, but the box concerned was not a parking space. It was a gap between other parking spaces but everything in the car park now has very brilliant white lines around it - I guess they are looking to fine anybody for anything. This was unreasonable in my opinion and did not impinge their revenue-making in any way. I appealed. No response. Just another letter - now saying the fine was increasing from £60 to £100. I ignored it in the hope my appeal would be successful. Now, a third letter. Still no mention of the appeal. Just an increase in the fine to £155. I am writing to my MP. This is a disgrace. I have today tried paying the fine but their payment system is hopeless. I'll take my chances with my MP and let's see if these crooks can be put out of business. The UK is broken and firms like Minster Baywatch are the reasons why.
I received a pcn charge for waiting for…
I received a pcn charge for waiting for a family to get in their car so I could use there spot, 5 mins cost me a £60 fine what a joke something should be done, they shouldn't be able to get away with ripping innocent people off it's criminal 😡
This company avoid them they are a very…
This company avoid them they are a very nasty company do not use them for doing your parking , I lost my job because of them , the stress they did to me caused this I don’t have any money and ty why have put it up so they can go on their fancy holidays avoid Kingston tesco car park in Mk as they are the company that does the parking as they don’t care about the customers all they care about is their expensive homes and they have stupid rules that small people can’t see because they are too high up and don’t make sense
Didnt listen. Arrogant.
Didnt listen. Rip off merchants. Only interested in making money. Their parking payment machine was faulty but it's still the visitors fault. I wont park in one of their car parks ever again.
Unfair parking fine - even though their system was to blame
They are just looking for ways to give fines....! This was in Tintagel area in Cornwall. The touch card option in the pay machine was not working, and, since internet reception in the area was terrible, it took a while to register the parking, and they cahrged us a fine (even though I paid for the time after I managed to book!). I explained everything, but they still claimed their system was ok on the day(!) so I had to pay the fine. No other communication apart from an on-off appeal online; no option to reply to their response and no customer support whatsoever. It seems the less efficient their system, the better for them so that they can issue fines regularly. Be aware, carry lots of coins with you....!
Conwy Train station Parking
Conwy Train station Parking - This company is seriously no help at all. No matter what is said, the auto bot that sends the response to decline your appeal has been programmed by someone who is too afraid to talk to a person on the phone. Not a number to call, no customer service, nothing.
My ticket was 3 minutes over the hour.. I paid cash, 4 weeks later i receive the notice, i did not retain my ticket or receipt (how many people do in all honesty) and I then have to prove i'm correct.
I paid the £60 as I am not a criminal they make you out to be, but feel sorry for them, no wonder they keep their identities private.
Flawed appeals process and rigid enforcement that completely ignores disability needs
An incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish with both Minster Baywatch and the independent appeals service, POPLA.
When arriving on site as a blue badge holder, I found both designated disabled bays completely full. Forced to position my vehicle safely out of the way without blocking anyone, Minster Baywatch immediately slapped a predatory £100 parking charge on the vehicle, showing zero flexibility or regard for real-world accessibility issues.
When escalating this to POPLA, their response was equally disappointing. They hid strictly behind contract law and claimed that compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and reasonable adjustments for disabled motorists are "outside their remit."
It is completely unjust that private parking operators and appeal bodies can wash their hands of statutory disability legislation while penalizing vulnerable motorists who are simply trying to navigate a car park with failing infrastructure. Avoid expecting any common sense or fairness from this process.
I got a parking ticket for being over…
I got a parking ticket for being over the line of a parking bay with 1 wheel, got a letter from them in April I appealed as my car had broken down and had to be pushed into the space, I sent the appeal along with the garage invoice stating starting motor was fixed, they didnt even respond to my appeal but 5 months later got a solicitors letter from gladstone solicitors, i have sent all information to gladstone solicitors and heard absolutely nothing. As I dont have an appeal number from minster baywatch I cant seem to get any other help its appalling.
ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER LETTER!
Another year, another letter demanding money about a PCN.
These people are ruthless, greedy, and corrupt. They are not in the slightest bit interested in what is right, just, or fair.
In the era of AI, I plugged my parking case into a legal app. I stated my 3 key pieces of evidence:
1. I have proof for paid parking , in a small town, and adhered to the permitted times.
2. I have proof of explanation due to misleading similarity and its close proximity to a car park with an almost identical name.
3. I have proof that the car park operator updated the car park name after I brought this issue to their attention.
AI did not hesitate to explain the law to me, and how the car parks name change within a few weeks of bringing it to their attention, via a saved email, was a legal "smoking gun", along with other information around no bad faith / financial loss, added fees etc. It was also informative, very negatively, on Gladstones, who Minster use to chase people, and their tactics.
I asked AI what my chances of success would be if I could provide my ticket receipt and prove the car park naming issues, which I have maintained. It said 80-85% success, and I was in "a very strong position".
Now, I was already aware of this, as were Minster Baywatch, who issued the ticket. All this does is prove they aren't fighting for any legal justice. They are fighting for money they know they have no moral or legal right to.
They just want free money and hope they can get it via either scare tactics or hope you don't know how to defend yourself. They are like dodgy tradesmen who pray on your elderly parents.
These people are not to be treated as legal enforcers. Anyone dealing with them should treat them as scammers and cowboys. Don't take your eye off them.
Record what you have as evidence and milk them dry by either winning in court or letting them waste their time and money harassing you.
Either way, you win!
More like 'Money Grabbing Baywatch'
As others have said, the appeal process is a farce.
I parked in Cirencester and used my card to pay the appropriate fee. Unbeknown to me, the machine cancelled the payment, but issued a ticket (which in the smallest font possible stated the transaction was cancelled). I duly placed this in the car and after my visit, left the car park. To the best of my knowledge I had paid. I used the same card successfully at a number of shops in the town, so the issue was the machine, not the card.
Having subsequently appealed, the response appeared to be an AI generated letter that did not take any of my reasoning into account, but simply stated I had not paid.
Funnily enough, the fine payment system had no trouble taking money from the same card! Call me cynical...
Heartless
Heartless, I received a PCN after parking in their Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Limelight Boulevard location. The car park has historically been a pay on exit site and signage to the contrary isn’t overly visible. After watching a film my partner and I paid for the full duration that we’d been in the film. However the company will not overturn the decision despite having taking the money for the parking and now for the PCN. They even told us we were over our grace period to get back to the car as we had complications getting my disabled partner back to the car.
Absolute disgrace of a company
Absolute disgrace of a company, got a parking fine for car being over the hatchlings slightly purely because the car next to us was on the white line and they wouldn’t have been able to get back in their car. We contested the fine hovering this information and the photo even shows the next car on the white line. Clearly being considerate in a very full car park warrants a £60 fine, absolute money grabbing pirates
The worst of the worst
You should absolutely be able to give this company zero rating. They tried this once before and took me to court, i won the case. And here we are again! I appealed the case and sent proof of why I was there amd how long appointment lasted..pointed out there is a section for patients and they rejected the appeal. See you in court again because there is absolutely no way I'm paying this bunch of cowboys. Its disgusting and aggressively trying to extort money from people. Just not on.
Unfair and Unreasonable
I drive a Ford Ranger and parked in an end bay. I carefully positioned the vehicle as far into the space as possible, with the rear wheel on the kerb, to leave enough room for both my driver’s door and the driver’s door of the car next to me.
The parking space simply wasn’t long enough for a Ford Ranger, meaning the vehicle extended only a few inches beyond the bay. Despite parking considerately and not obstructing anyone, I was still issued a fine.
I appealed and explained the circumstances, but Minster Baywatch rejected it without any reasonable consideration. This feels like a company more interested in collecting money than applying basic common sense. Disgusting treatment and extremely disappointing.
Parking at Minster Baywatch site a big mistake.
I entered vehicle registration, chose length of stay and swiped my card. No ticket. No suggestion to try again or insert card. Two weeks later a PCN. Appeal rejected. Made POPLA appeal. They said that I had seen instructions to try again, totally in contrast to what I had said. POPLA appeal also rejected.
