Awful claims handling
Awful claims handling. Can't provide time frames for claims at any stage best answer you will get is "soon" no way to speed up the process. Don't have enough staff to assess claims and make the claim procedure complicated and long

This company is not a trusted company ,please note that if your unlucky enough to have to make a claim please allow them them at least three months to assess your claim only to deny your claim took a accident policy out with them that paid out if hospitalised after a accident ,this company even after being given discharge letter and all documents wanted to dig further and asked to go into medical records of which was allowed this happened in June and after many a month back and forth they refused to pay out passed onto ombudsman as company is a joke avoid at all costs ,as they mis sell Thier products and may well take them to small claims courts for mis selling .

I was with them a few years, had accident last year, I cancelled the policy as it was very difficult to communicate with them. Still waiting for the money.

Their motto should be: "Delay today, deny tomorrow"
Avoid - they delay and delay then just refuse your claim.
My company insured my employment with them. I made a claim as I was genuinely off work sick. I had a diagnosis and clear case. First off, they took forever, delaying repeatedly before even considering my claim by asking for more information, then; waiting a couple of weeks then asking for more information, getting it, then waiting another couple of weeks, and so on, until I realised this is a tactic they use. So I said, no more, that's it, review my claim.
Then they wrote a long-winded refusal full of unfounded statements and ignoring my key evidence. Glaringly obvious mistakes. Very dismissive.
So I appealed, and that took hours of my time to point out all their inaccuracies and missing information. Again a long delay, almost a month, then refused again restating the same ridiculous reasons that defy medical or even logical reasoning. Pushing more work on me to appeal again and only by registering a formal complaint. Good on them now almost three months gone.
Clearly this is simply their strategy to avoid paying out. And what can you really do about it?
Corporate versus a person.
Don't waste your time with these people. This is not a nice company.
Update:
After two formal claim refusals and two internal appeals, I submitted a formal complaint to MetLife. MetLife did not issue a final response within the required 8-week timeframe.
After waiting beyond the deadline, my complaint was rejected in full, leaving escalation to the Financial Ombudsman Service as the only remaining option. It is now over four months from my original claim.
This means the claim process required multiple appeals, a formal complaint, and now an Ombudsman referral before independent review could occur.

Good Company
Advisor Jordan who works for Ressurred on behalf of the Metlife Life Insurance Policy took me through my options and give me the advice I needed and listened to my questions to make sure I was getting the best cover. Friendly, helpful professional. Application was set up easy and I'm happy with the service provided.

NOT RECOMMENDED! when I sign lifei nsurance with them was nice, gently and easy. When comes claim time was long and looking reason to be not paid! They are dishonest and unprofessional service. Rubbish!

I wanted to purchase life insurance for my disabled son, but because he can’t live independently there were no policies that would cover him. The 1st person I spoke to, Holly, called me back with information on a different policy which I really like the sound off. She had another person from the company call me named Ben & he went outta his way to set up a policy for my son. I couldn’t recommend them enough. They know their stuff and were so friendly and polite but also so personal.

We recently took out insurance, and I want to leave my review of the consultant Victor, who explained everything to us, and today my family is covered.
I also have firsthand proof that it's good to have insurance; my sister-in-law had just taken out her plan, and her eldest daughter had an accident at school and broke two bones. They helped her file the claim, and today she's receiving benefits. So it's gratifying to see that something we pay for is truly worthwhile.
Surgeries not covered
Took out the sports cover and it didn't cover a sporting injury that required surgery. Wasn't worth the time or money for me. Also tried to cancel by email and wasn't able to - it is what it is, but difficult sometimes to call 9-5 around work.
