Avoid at all costs as a seller !! EBay supports and backs up buyers who are fraudulently abusing the returns system leaving you heavily out of pocket ! Use Vinted instead !! I’d give it no stars if I could !

I, recently discovered that when browsing, if an item is removed from viewing, this can trigger a bid. This should not be allowed to happen. Why would people bid for something that is of no use to them?

Ebay allow conmen regularly to misadvertise items.
I was just conned by million19888 on a vehicle that proved to be totally unworthy. The seller violated two of Ebays policies and I gave them the proof but they said he didn't. Ebay are a complete disgrace now and they feel they are untouchable.
The seller now refuses to give me his address to serve legal papers in the small claims court.

The delivery pricing is awful. Ebay dictates what to charge and then at the end the buyer can choose to underpay. My item was a large letter (£1.55) then ebay decides to let the buyer pay only 90p, leaving me to pay the shortfall!
I didn't realise this could even happen and so have sold a few things like this before realising that by leaving me pay the shorfall on each item I sell I am actually only making a few pence in profit. How the hell does allowing the buyer to pay whatever they like as postage even work. Won't be using ebay again.

I'm a buyer on ebay. i now pay postage direct to ebay under ebay simple delivery (sic) and Want to select my preferred courier. Not able to do do that. why? i Want to avoid Evri as very bad local service. Spent hour with ebay customer services trying to resolve this. Asked to complain and escalate issue to ebay tech team told I couldn't. Why can't ebay set up choose courier link for buyers at checkout stage on all listings in 2026? It's too time consuming to search/message sellers to ask if they use Royal Mail. I'm thinking of leaving ebay after 8 years. Anyone else having this problem?

Warning do not open a business account with ebay. Co. UK if you do anything that goes missing will be charged to your bank account, and directed to seek refund through pack link that basically gives you zero chance of obtaining your refund with all there obstacles and blocks in place, it's a different matter if you have a private account you are covered with ebay simple delivery but a business account means you have basically no protection and on top of this you are paying a monthly fee for the privilege, after finding this out today I will be closing my account of over 25 years, they are adding insult to injury when things go missing in the post and it wasn't even the sellers fault. This policy on business accounts is a total disgrace and very unfair to loyal honest sellers, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

eBay have really gone down the pan over the last 18 months after being a member since 2002. I went to add a sterling silver item for sale and first I could not set the postage type and then they wanted to add more cash to cover some buyers protection to my asking amount. I deleted my sale and closed my account.
They never asked why I had closed the account, but kept prompting me to reopen it within so many days. I just ignored their requests.
Then a year ago I needed some car parts and saw a eBay seller selling exactly what I wanted, so I ordered them as a guest. Then I needed more parts and again eBay had them, so I registered an account. But I just do not like their new setup, like I cannot leave feedback to the supplier, but eBay keep wanting me to review the parts I have ordered for quality etc. I am also fed up with the constant requests for my password and their barrage of emails.
I guess from the style of the constant daily emails, their business sales have diminished, no surprises there,

bought a medical bracelet unpacked it, put it on and the buckle fell off. typical e bay chines rubbish.

It is a sad thing that eBay has become the home of the fraud, charlatan, thief, liar and crook. Carpet baggers, illegal market traders from across the world now manipulate and use eBay to steal and defraud money from honest people. The worst thing is that eBay know it is happening and will NOT stop it. Even the Feedback system is a joke, if eBay have to issue a buyer a refund because the seller has not received their goods, eBay will not allow the buyer to leave detailed feedback if the seller is of certain ethnicities/nationalities. Ergo, some people can get away with dishonesty on eBay. Very Sad and unacceptable. Customer services for UK is now mainly out of Albania, the staff there are robots, they are also confrontational, rude & patronising. They think Enver Hoxa is in charge!

I shut the bussiness down
Went back to my eBay account
2 years later to withdraw funds
They started asking my to provide all sorts of documents for the business bear in mind it’s been over 2 years and it’s been shut dome
Closed my account and froze my money and told me to wait 190 days I’m on day 32
I THINK EBAY ARE HAVING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS HOLDING CUSTOMERS FUNDS

No option to speak to a human when seller issues arise. Just circular support options or irrelevant AI support topics. SELLERS AND BUYERS BEWARE. EBAY no longer a useful or cost effective sellers platform unless you are willing to waste hours of manual problem fixing per item sold.

Their AI seems to be deliberately stopping me from getting something done about a company who just ignore my messages about their warranty on a product which is faulty. Keeps telling me to get in touch with the seller ! Totally useless and guessing their AI system was based on a human who never went to school. Fine as long as nothing goes wrong but no chance if you want them to take some responsibility.

ebay won't let me have one bank card, and I cannot yet pay back a customer for something she bought that did not work out.

ordered item 12-14342-88281 on the 10/03/26 item as off 18/03/26 has not been dispatched yet asked to cancel order [ seller refused ] e bay wont help wont allow me to contact them by phone at 1pm uk time [saying i need to call during working hours ] this is the second time in a row iv had trouble with e bay been with them about 15years this will be my last buy from them

After 26 years with EBay they have charged me for their error, I am fuming! They issued me a postage label that had an incorrect Address on it.
However Zoe from customer service stepped in sorted out my issue and gave me a full refund.Ebay Redeemed themselves.
But reading other EBay UK reviews it seems there are some serious postage issues/problems. Ebay used to be really good, what has happened??

Ebay for some ludicrous reason (money probably) have decided the default delivery option is to use the reliably appalling Evri. Latest delivery purportedly delivered at 14:07 to an enclosed porch. I do not have an enclosed porch. I was home all day and at the delivery time I was watching the rugby. Nobody rang door bell or knocked on my door. I suspect item was left on the front path in full view of passers by. Ebay's decision to use Evri means that the click and collect options reduced drastically. For example I like to collect from my local Sainsbury's but as they don't have an Evri centre they are no longer an option. I've used eBay for 15 years plus but will be going elsewhere now.

I have used eBay for many years now….
in recent months as a Guest Buyer.
I have spent a great deal of money and have never been totally satisfied.
In recent months their Sellers and eBay themselves have become extremely unreliable and, as a result….i have lost thousands of pounds.
You have great difficulty in contacting them directly and they NEVER respond to emails.
In effect , they and their Sellers are stealing your money !
They are obviously in League with each other.
BE VERY CAREFUL OF USING BOTH !

Every time I buy off ebay I end up regretting it because it is so difficult and time consuming to get a vat receipt. It's fine for personal purchases but no good for business use. Amazon is the opposite experience.
