London Vision Clinic is a fantastic place to get eye surgery. I had the ICL surgery due to my high eye prescription and thin cornea, and after almost three months now, I’m so surprised of how well I see. The team was lovely and followed up with me before and after the surgery to ensure I was feeling well. The surgeon was great, very professional and solved all my doubts in the clinic. Overall, an excellent process. Even though the day of the surgery I struggled a bit as I was very nervous, I could see almost perfect just two days after. Highly recommend!

Following my lens replacement procedure, I experienced a minor reaction in one eye upon discontinuing the steroid drops according to the instructions. The team was extremely supportive, and I received prompt attention, quickly resolving the issue.

I had a great experience with LVC from start to finish. The results of the procedure were perfect and the recovery time was shorter than I expected. There was never any pressure to go ahead with the procedure and the staff took their time to address any questions or concerns I had in a timely manner while I considered my decision. The clinic is highly professional, competent and well-regarded which provided me reassurance throughout the process. I would happily recommend LVC to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

I am sharing this feedback while I am still in the recovery phase following my ICL surgery, which took place just over one month ago.

I would like to start by acknowledging that the procedure itself was carried out professionally. The surgery day was well organised, the clinical team were polite and reassuring, and I felt appropriately supported during the procedure.

My main concern relates to the way pre-operative counselling and recovery expectations were communicated. During my consultations, the emphasis was placed very strongly on the benefits and positive outcomes of ICL. While I understand that all procedures carry variability, I do not feel that the recovery timeline, adjustment period, or the likelihood of prolonged visual symptoms were explained in sufficient detail. In particular, the possibility of ongoing near-vision difficulties, visual fluctuation, light sensitivity, and glare/halos over several weeks or longer was not clearly communicated.

Since surgery, I have experienced significant difficulty with near vision. Reading small text has been extremely challenging, and while reading glasses provide limited assistance, they do not fully resolve the issue. I continue to struggle with everyday tasks such as using my phone, and I am often unable to read text clearly even with reading glasses. This has had a noticeable impact on my day-to-day life.

My distance vision has improved overall but is not perfect, with my right eye in particular remaining slightly blurry. I also continue to experience light sensitivity, especially at night, as well as glare and halos around lights.

I was also advised that I would be able to return to work the next day. Given that the clinic was aware my role involves prolonged and intensive computer use, this guidance felt misleading in hindsight. While I appreciate that patients may be physically able to attend work, the functional demands of visually intensive, screen-based work were not, in my view, adequately considered. In reality, I have not been able to work as normal and have had to rely on enlarged text and various adjustments, even several weeks after surgery.

Had I been more clearly informed about the potential recovery timeline and functional impact following ICL, I would have reconsidered my options and may have chosen a different treatment approach.

In addition, I am currently being prescribed glasses to help manage my visual difficulties. While I understand this may be intended as a temporary measure, the possibility that prescription glasses might still be required during recovery was not clearly discussed during the pre-operative consultations. One of the key reasons for choosing ICL was the expectation of being free from glasses, so this was unexpected.

I have been advised that a more definitive assessment of whether further intervention is required will be made around three months after surgery. I am currently being monitored, and the clinic is exploring potential next steps if my vision does not settle as hoped.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively. My intention is to highlight the importance of clearer communication and more balanced expectation-setting so that future patients can make fully informed decisions and prepare realistically for recovery. I plan to update this review once my recovery has progressed further and matters have settled.

I highly recommend the professionalism of the London Vision Clinic. On December 22, 2026, I had my Presbyond surgery at LVC. LVC have done a good job on my eyes. I can now see 20/20 and have no issues. Worth paying a little bit more for that bit of extra safety. The staff and surgeon (Mr. Carp) were excellent, very professional and reassuring. I cannot comment on how things would go if there problems, but I have been lucky and the experience has been all good.
