I bought a flat and the lease for the land was an authorised copy. They said they cannot provide an original. Where is an copy must be an original. 1y and 4 month since the completion and I still don't have all the papers. I find so hard to get in touch with them.

I have a very impressive experience towards the very effective and helpful service so rendered to me by this firm in my recent purchase of property.

When getting near to the final stage of the legal process and the Completion Date of the property, I took the liberty to make a request without prior notice to the firm of adding my son’s name to my purchased property. The legal firm did not show any dissatisfaction, but took a very positive and helpful attitude towards my sudden request and effectively paid extra efforts to redo my file again for a timely and very satisfactory completion of the deal. The staff are very nice and helpful all along.

Complete disregard to the client.

It has been totally awkward and unreliable service - from not being notified when the file changed the lawyers to no contact with alleged "partner" on the case who did not even bother with replying to the e-mails.

They do not answer the phone - even worse the last lawyer that dealt with my case - did not even have a proper e-mail address - all e-mails where sent to Team-B. I also got communication meant for other clients - so if you treasure your private data - stay away.

4 months after completion - I am still chasing them to finalise documents as they did not even bother to contact the managing agent to let them know about the new leaseholder so I cannot be invoiced for the ground and service charge...

None is really takign care of anything - Peter Johnson - sent me e-mail promising to investigate all the troubles I went through - but he failed to do anything about it.

Had to chase them constantly - and almost missed the deadline for completing the documentation. If the broker and I did not e-mail them and threaten them with posting reviews - they would not do anything, and now I would have to pay at least GBP250 per month due to raising interest rates.

Stay away from them - very incompetent!

As a recommended panel solicitor - I would definitely not recommend.

Peter - I do not need answers - such as “you will look into it”. What I need - is action - sending the documents that were signed by the seller, providing me with share indemnity document signed by the seller, getting shares registered in my name. Out of your 20 emails - none actual triggered any action from your side - except pretending that things were done. Your solicitors even failed to discuss with the letting agent how the keys would be handled to me and I spent 4 days on my own discussing receipt of the keys with quite rude property agent.

Being a first time buyer can be stressful and most definitely daunting however choosing the right solicitors is important. AJLO helped us to navigate with ease throughout the process and ensure our move went smoothly. Furthermore I would like to thank both Tyra and Matt specifically due to their patience and guidance in relation to answering our queries and their efforts in having us complete the whole process in such a swift timeframe.
Would 100% recommend the firm to anyone looking for a professional service.

Pooja has delivered an absolutely amazing work. She is reliable, fast, she has such a high attention to details, and she was such a helpful person! She has been treating us not only as clients but as human beings and she has always had such a kindness and support to us. She has shown such a professionalism that thanks to this experience with her, whenever we purchase a property, we will choose a law firm wherever she works. This is firm is simply amazing. I’ve recently sold my house and bought another one all at the same time and Boray and his team (Nazima and Holly) dealt with the case.
I can honestly say that they didn’t disappoint and I was able to communicate with them easily and they’ve always responded to my queries promptly.

Excellent professional firm. I was going through a difficult divorce and Alexander JLO supported me with sound legal advice and the communication was outstanding. It was a stressful time and Alexander JLO took matters one step at a time reassuring me all the way. Would recommend 100%

JLO was suggested, and I decided to use them.  It was a bit stressful at first getting all information together but once allocated a worker it was much better.

I had Kim initially and she was clear and communicated really well with the differernt stages of the process, and she kept me up-to-date with what she was doing, and with what information she was awaiting from the sellers and she was very responsive to emails. This really helped me to understand the process better with being a first time buyer. Sadly, Kim left close towards the end of the purchase.  My case was transferred to someone else who sadly was not as able to understand the situation to meet my need. I was so pleased and relieved that JLO had then allocated me a replacement.

I then had Nazima, who was excellent to finish off the process.  Nazima stepped in so, so quickly to enable the sale to reach its completion with absolutely no difficulties.  Nazima was extremely helpful, listened and understood the situation, and was clear in communication and got on with the job in hand. 

Nazima and Kim were extremely professional and knew the process so well with their experience which made me feel reassured and confident in their abilities.  I am so grateful to both of them to get me through from start to finish.

Costs i would say were very reasonable, and I would use their services again, seek advice in the future or recommend to others.

Alexander JLO has been recommended by my developer GMV, Countryside. Overall, I rate their services low for the below reasons and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone:
- Initial quote included things I didn’t require these were only removed after I challenged it. There were also errors on my final completion statement
-Everything is on paper, they don’t embrace any of the benefits of digital Conveyancing- even the final feedback form was sent via post (without a pre-paid return envelope)
-Make sure you keep everything on email. I had some of my queries answered by the main partner (Matt) over the phone. At completion it turned out some of his answers were incorrect but there was no email trail and therefore no way to challenge
-If you’re buying with HTB ISA they don’t seem to know what they are doing - the main partner (Matt) gave me incorrect information that was later corrected by one of his associates but it meant I had to reach out to the HTB Scheme myself
-They’ll recommended I get extra surveys (costing £200-300) and later told me I didn't really need them because I'm covered under the 10 year warranty - the recommendation is a standard paragraph they include in each instructions letter - would be useful to know before instructing the surveys and wasting money
-You will have multiple dealing with your case making it hard to chase down what’s going on
-They had issues meeting my exchange date- they didn’t communicate any of that to my developer or I (until I chased)

I have now used Alexander JLO for four property transactions, and three employment contract-related matters over the last 16 years, and Alexander JLO have been perfect at looking after us every time.

Most recently, they helped us with a house purchase. The impatient estate agent would constantly be chasing us saying that our legal team were at fault for something. but in fact, on checking, Alexander JLO were always on top of things and were actually waiting for action from the vendors' solicitors.

Everything went smoothly on our side and we will definitely use them again in the future.

Joelle, Holly and the team were excellent with my recent Shared Ownership purchase. Always replied to emails within an hour, kept me updated at every stage and promptly returned phone calls. Their service was friendly, professional, informed and incredibly reassuring throughout the entire process. I'd use this firm again and highly recommend.

If it wasn't for my mortgage broker I am sure the deal would not have gone through. My broker knew how to push things along with the lender etc.

The team at A.JLO left it til the last moment to contact my lender and then I had to rush around the final week before the offer was about to end to chase some requirements.

Moreover a section 20 notice for £350 was alerted to me at exchange. Brilliant.... If course they have my money then so I wasn't going to not carry on for £350 bc they would take their payment I am sure as they held my £100k. But I had not time to negotiate. Say it was for £5k or more. I would have to forfeit the the deal at the last moment bc would not afford it,

Boray and team were not the most efficient and would not recommend them.

No issues at all - very smooth, professional interaction, and completed very quickly. Ash was great to communicate with and responded fast to any queries.

Used these guys and they were very diligent and effective. Very quick to respond too which is always helpful customer service.

We recently used Alexander JLO to purchase our new home. Mary and Matt were brilliant, helping us navigate some very pushy and unreasonable sellers, always acting in our best interests and going above and beyond. Would def recommend!

With any house buying there is a lot that can, and usually does, go wrong.

From the start Alexander JLO's solicitors were professional, supportive and flexible.

When the sellers solicitors brought on delays, they came up with solutions to keep the purchase on track.

The whole process took multiple months and throughout they maintained their support, even with all the disruption of COVID. Their report was clear and helpful, options were also clear and they were on the other side of the phone when we needed them.

Overall we felt like we got a lot for our money and have the security that the legal side of things is solid. Exactly what you want from this kind of experience.
